Best groomer in town! I have 2 Golden retrievers and I’ve tried others but was disappointed at the lack of ability to groom their double coat correctly and have been charged for services they clearly didn’t do. Von Barkees is stellar! My pups look amazing EVERY time and their staff is so kind to us and our pups. We couldn’t ask for better service!

I’m so thankful for Von Barkee’s! Hunter and Kat are wonderful at their jobs, and they are wonderful people overall. I have a Norwich Terrier, and it is so hard to find someone who does hand stripping. Hunter (my dog’s groomer) is a true artist. Hunter makes my Norwich look handsome, and he actually loves going to get groomed now that he’s going to Von Barkee’s. He goes right in when I drop him off and doesn’t want to leave when I pick him up. I can tell he’s loved there. Before he started going to Von Barkee’s, I had been taking him to a different grooming salon where it became obvious that he was being clipped instead of hand stripped. While he was going to the old place, his coat kept getting thinner in texture and lighter in color. It was so bad that the hair on his head parted down the center, and I could see his scalp. That’s when I went on the search to find a new groomer and contacted Von Barkee’s. Hunter has worked hard to get his coat back into shape. Just after a few months, his hair become coarser and he is a gorgeous red once again. Now he is in his senior years and has had a cancer diagnosis. Hunter and Kat are so kind in checking in on him after his surgeries and for always showing him and his humans great love when he comes in for grooming.

Our usual groomer left the shop where we used to go, so we found Von Barkees and I’m so glad we did! My mini Sheepadoodle looks absolutely gorgeous! The groomer took the time to ask me detailed questions about the type of cut I wanted and other services. They finished on time and gave a report of how he did. They are a little more expensive than some other groomers, but competitive and well worth the price! Highly recommend!

Very good grooming but pricey. They listened and did what was asked. They know our girl by name and are very comforting towards her. They work fairly quickly which is not a requirement for us—don’t want to sacrifice quality for speed—but they have done a good job last 2 visits. But did I mention pricey?

Took my 90+lb Royal Poodle here for a FFF service and they did an amazing job with that and the brush out. He's so floofy! Hunter also took the time to gently educate me on better coat care for my pup when I asked for tips. Kristen was quick, friendly, and responsive to scheduling requests!

I love the Von Barkee Carolina Beach Rd staff. They care for the fancy, high bred pups and the formerly feral mixes like Angel. The dogs mostly are free to hang out while the staff takes the time to do the grooming. Angel just trots right in the building, and I pick her up wagging. Going to Von Barkee has helped grow her confidence in the human world. Thank you!

I have been bringing my golden retriever, Mason, to Von Barkees since I moved to Wilmington last August. They consistently do an amazing job with him. He brings a lot of puppy energy, and at 68 pounds, he can be a lot to handle sometimes - but they are patient with him and do great work trimming him up! The staff has always been wonderful as well, and I always have pleasant convo with Cat! I appreciate them taking great care of the dogs who come into their facility and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I was not satisfied with the service I received from the new centre location in Wilmington. They kept adding time to my dogs grooming experience and lied about it and charged me much more than I was charged at the Carolina Beach Rd location. I have to say the appearance of person who greets people is very disturbing. I couldn't get passed all of the piercings and yellow teeth. Choose another location or another groomer.
