RiverGirl is not just a company, it's an experience. I've gone solo canoeing, brought my Dad there for a fly-fishing lesson, one year I went tubing with 4 friends, and for multiple years for I've had an annual tubing party ranging from 90-160 attendees. No matter the size of the group, you get a friendly, personal-feeling experience that many other companies are unable or unwilling to provide. Amazing experience! The beautiful area of Todd is so rustic and perfect. Loved meeting Chico and Tater 🐾💚. Wonderful staff. Such a beautiful float down the river. Stopping to enjoy a swim was so refreshing, the water was cool but perfect for a hot summer day. Loved that it wasn't so crowded and felt like our own private river. Can't wait to come back with our kayaks and plan a guided fishing tour as well. The owners love what they do and make you feel like family. Best experience!

This was our first fine tubing down the river. Our group ranged in age from 9 to 76 and everyone had a great time. We would definitely do it again. Kelly and her employees were very knowledgeable and friendly. Reasonably priced for a 3 hour activity and lots of fun.

Imagine joining a bunch of funny and kind people on a slow jaunt down a lazy river on a Wednesday Evening. Have I enticed you? Throw in some wine and you have Wine Down Wednesday on the River.The two ladies that run the show make life easy for you. They are warm, funny, and accommodating. They immediately understood my disability and made no issue of it.They picked the right kayak for me and my Service Dog Bruster, made sure we were comfortable and by the time we were drifting down river, I felt a sense of wonder and inner peace.My only regret is that I paddled too fast and missed the stopping point. Fortunately a nice family rescued me and my dog, along with the kayak.I will continue to find my joy with these ladies. They know how to treat people and place kindness and compassion above all else.

Interesting place. We went Kayaking. For the 11:00 appt we finally got in the water @ 11:30. The Kayaks are sit in, not sit on top. I personally prefer the sit on top, but they were clean and well maintained. It's almost a petting zoo around there as well. On the Kayak we were done in about 50 minutes. A short kayak trip.The river portion is a beautiful trip and the people are really nice.

We had done a float trip before but this evening we did the Wine Down Wednesday trip. What fun! A beautiful summer evening, great scenery, a great river section to float, and a glass of wine to get things started. We look forward to bringing friends and doing it again. Highly recommended!

Great experience. 😊 Friendly staff!We took our own tubes and floating cooler. One of the girls took us to the drop off point, in our car, and drove our car back to the River Girl place for us to pick up once we floated down the river. Beautiful and relaxing 3 hour tubing experience.They have waterproof bags for sell, for your phone or other items, if you want to take it in the tube for pictures along the way or don’t take it and relax for 3 hours!Don’t forget to tip your driver. He or she deserves it for sure. Super helpful!

Awesome experience but they do have a few hidden fees I feel like they try to get over on tourists. We had reserved 3 tandem canoes. They called the day of and said the river was too low so we had to switch to 6 single kayaks. They didn’t inform us until we were physically in the store checking in that it was an extra $100+. Family friends had the same experience with them on a separate occasion. The river ended up being too low to even kayak in and was kinda miserable toward the end. Like I said awesome experience and would do again, just knowing this time to look out for the weather.

We were a group of 7 that floated down the river last Sunday, and it is not hyperbole to say it was the best day of tubing EVER!! Kelly and her awesome team were very easy to work with, communicated well, and looked like they were having a lot of fun. Not only will we be back, but we’ve already started telling all our friends and family that they should definitely use River Girl Fishing for all their future tubing trips. Another great tubing trip with RiverGirl. Saturday was so much fun, we went again Sunday. Renata was great to work with scheduling the trip, even took care of last minute additions without missing a beat. As a former small business owner, was great to see how she and Kelly handle all the various challenges that running a service business brings, while doing all they can to keep their customers satisfied. Loved the new take-out spot, much easier than the old one. Also, even though weather cut the Sunday trip short, was grateful for the manner and speed in which they got us off the water; safety first. We’re looking forward to our next trip with RiverGirl.

It wasn’t a bad experience - it was just extremely lackluster compared to other tubing experiences. Parking is tight but we were able to park across the street at the church. Evidently the day we booked they also overbooked a very large party and were a bit panicky which probably explains why the experience for us was pretty meh. Since we arrived early they did offer to take us ahead of the large group which we did appreciated. However, we were told to hop into the back of a truck bed.. which by the way was scorching hot trying to climb in and out of the truck bed in swimwear - luckily I had brought a long sleeve cover shirt I was able to put down to save my hands and knees from being burned. When we arrived we were given tubes with the headrests cut off.. so that comfort was gone and the tubes had quite a bit of mildew staining. The girl who dropped us off didn’t explain where to get out of the river at or anything.. luckily we saw the giant stack of tubes at the exit point and there was someone there to hand our tubes to. However, no one mentioned we had to walk back to the outpost or where the outpost was.. we just kinda wandered towards what we thought was the church beside the outpost. Luckily we were correct. In the dozens of other times I’ve gone tubing the experience was better. This was the first and last time using River girl. When we pay for tubes with headrests.. I kinda expect them to still be attached. Also - we were asked if anyone weighed over 200 pounds but then we’re all given the exact same tubes. So not sure what the point of that was. Luckily we still enjoyed our time on the river but I’ll be using another company next time.

Everything you could want with a river service. Have tubed with them for years and tried plenty of others before, but no one is better than Kelly and her team. Nice, affordable, convenient, awesome tubing route.

There were some hurdles but we were flexible and had a great time on the water. These tubes must be made of something magical. For all of the times we hit the rocks we thought for sure we would have lost a tube.

Our family spent our third annual summer vacation in the area last week, and RiverGirl Fishing Co. is ALWAYS on our "to-do" list. We spent one morning taking a lovely bike ride and a picnic by the river. The next day, we went tubing. The staff is always so fun, friendly and accommodating! We'll see y'all next year!

If I could give an extra star I would for sure. I took my first fly fishing lesson from Kelly McCoy about a month ago. Kelly started the lesson patiently explaining everything from how to tie the knots necessary to feeding the line onto my fly rod. Kelly taught me how to read the water and what flies to use. She showed me how to patiently get my fly out of a tree. If I didn't spend this time with Kelly I assure you it would of taken me years to gain the knowledge she shared. Actually I probably would have quit in frustration and went back to regular spin casting. Kelly is the real deal and her passion for the outdoors and incredible river life knowledge is beyond special. Set up your lesson a couple weeks in advance and I promise you will be very pleased. Thanks Kelly! (The fish was my first catch on my fly rod after my lesson with Kelly)

Never judge the book by its cover , this place may be small , and in the middle of nowhere but is definitely a place you want to spend quality time with your family, it’s worth every single dime , I wish I could write all the great things I experience in here but I think and everybody in my group agree with me that what it makes this place great is the people, they work really hard to make your visit something y’all will enjoy! It’s very safe , kids will love it , the river is super clean and kids friendly, they don’t even need life jackets , they will provide you with everything you need ! I highly recommend it! I would definitely come back again and again, thanks y’all for your hard work!

The best guided fly fishing trip I’ve ever experienced!! I’ve fished all over the country with many different guides and Kelly is at the very top of the list. Her knowledge of the local area, fish behavior and general ecology made our full day trip not only very productive but extremely educational. I visited Todd, NC for the first time with my son in May and River Girl immediately made us feel right at home. Typically I enjoy exploring and fishing new places but I’ll be going back to Todd for years to come to learn from and fish with our new friends at Rivergirl Fishing Co. Thanks for the great memories, Kelly!!!

This trip exceeded all my expectations! Both owners were obviously very knowledgeable on the area , providing fascinating insights into the local town and wildlife. The kayaks were in excellent condition, and the life jackets were comfortable and easy to wear. The trip itself was so much fun, with plenty of opportunities to explore the river and its surroundings. I've been tubing many times with RiverGirl over the past 5 years, 6 times with a very large group of adults and 3 times with just a small group including a few children. Every time has been a wonderful, fun experience! The RiverGirl team does a great job of orgnanzing groups, making the instructional/safety talk fun, and getting all the tubers and gear up to the launch point quickly and safely. The tubes are heavy duty with cupholders and back rests. And RiverGirl does an awesome job of keeping an eye on the weather so they can get tubers off the river quickly if a storm approaches. I look forward to tubing with RiverGirl for many years to come!

9/4/22 We went tubing with my wife, son and his girlfriend (20’s). We had a great time. This was more fun than expected. River Girl was great. They did the safety speech, offered an area to bail if inclement weather and then we were free to go. water was perfect temp ( we opted for 2 pm option as air temp was warmer) Tubes were great and they accommodated us with the last minute addition of a cooler tube. Scenery was great and decent water flow . we did get rained on pretty good but that just makes the trip “story” that much better.We were referred to River Girl by Boone locals. The staff was super friendly and helpful if you needed something. While at the same time if you didn’t , they gave you space. Expectations were exceeded. I’d highly recommend and absolutely- we will be back! Life is Good at River Girls!!

We love kayaking and tubing with RiverGirl. They are very helpful and meet our needs every time. The river is calm, peaceful, and relaxing. We have done the tube float, as well as the 3 hour kayak trip several times. The scenery is amazing! We always learn something new about the area from the RiverGirl employees. They are also very organized which makes the entire experience that much better. I highly recommend RiverGirl for your High Country River experiences!

These are some of the most down to earth and caring individuals I have ever met. We had the best time even though we lost our phone due to our own carelessness, the employees were extremely helpful in trying to help us find it. Unfortunately it has yet to be found but they are still asking customers to be on the lookout for it. These are some amazing people! Try them out, you’ll not be disappointed.
