Our Wheaten Terrier was matted and desperately in need of grooming. She had surgery a few weeks ago when she was already in need of grooming and her coat had gone down hill.Top Dog’s groomer (I apologize for not asking his name…Doug maybe?) did an amazing job on Scotti (our dog). She has never been groomed as well as she was today and she was done so quickly. She looks stellar!! We will be bringing her back every 8 weeks as Doug recommended.Thank you!!

Boarded my baby Charlie at Top Dog for the first time mid February. When I picked him up I learned he was a fence jumper. They managed to keep him safe the whole time and this was the first time he boarded where he did not get sick from his anxiety. I was told he ate after 2 days which is incredible, I have boarded him in the past at another place and he had come home skinnier, and had explosive diarrhea for a week. He came home this time tired but not anxious or trembling and no sickness. I will be using Top Dog 2 x in the next 2 months.(photo on the day after he got home).

My dog is a two year old rescue. We have worked so hard with her to calm her PTSD and to try to socialize her to people and other dogs. She is doing very well with people, generally, and has improved with other dogs. Top Dog staff knew all of this, yet kept her next to at least one large,aggressive, snarling dog. When i picked her up after 4 days away, she was petrified, she cowered from me, then when i coaxed her she barely untucked her tail and her ears started to come up. She slid between my legs, shaking. She is a very clean dog at home. Her legs and belly were smeared with dried feces. Once home, she drank two bowls of water and 2 servings of food before i cleaned her up, after which she curled tightly into a ball and slept for several hours in the early afternoon. --I don't know fully what she endured but i know it was a setback in her journey and I will NOT put her through that at 'Top Dog' again. Our pup is , thankfully, bouncing back.

Royal treatment for the Queen’s dog (Pembroke Welsh Corgi)!Zoey got a bath, nail trim and hair shaping all for $35! I dropped her off at 8 AM and she conveniently came home at 11:30 AM, calm, smelling so fresh and looking so cute! I took these photos as soon as we got home.Definitely recommend Top Dog if your dog needs some primping!

My dog went in Saturday for grooming. He has been bouncing off the walls since and everytime I touch him he jumps in a panic. I asked for a teddy bear cut and they shaved him instead. He is shaved bald in some spots and patchy long hair in some spots. I will try to post some pictures. We will not be returning.

Top Dog Kennel has been so helpful and attentive with my two dogs. They have been boarded many times and go to daycare several times a month. They love it and are so excited when they go. I have mouthy dachshund and a shy Great Dane. Top Dog works with well with both of them. Great, caring staff.

We boarded Adeline here from 5-7-23 through 5-14-23. I told them I would bring her food pre measured in individual bags because she cannot have other food, which I did and explained they only get once a day feeding. The evening of 5-14 when we arrived at home with her from the kennel she had explosive diarrhea. 4 1/2 days later she still has uncontrollable diarrhea and just went on our bedroom floor( 2 accidents on our homes carpet now)! So I decided to call the Top Dog Kennel back because I knew something had been fed to her that was foreign. Sure enough the lady did admit, thankfully, that they had given her multiple feedings of wet dog food to encourage her to eat throughout the week. Why on earth would they do this? No one called to ask permission or even our thoughts on giving her foreign food. Who knows what treats we’re fed to her. Today, our vet explained to us that foreign food should never be introduced to a dog with a strict diet because it will cause upset stomach and diarrhea. Hhhhmmmmm? She also explained that dogs who do not eat while boarding are perfectly fine and a lot of times it’s normal due to stress, and just need water and usually will eat when they get hungry enough. Hhhmmmmm? I explained this to the owner (Nick) and after cutting me off and mumbling over me instead of letting me finish telling him what the vet just explained to us, he disagreed. I said you realize a Dr of Animal Science just told us this before calling you. Apparently Nick at Top Dog Kennel is a Dr, or superior to one for that matter. The vet recommended us giving her a bland diet of 2/1 chicken and rice in small increments throughout the day and if it doesn’t clear up in a couple days, they recommend her going to the clinic for a checkup with blood work and fecal samples. Yay! Unfortunately for us until the diarrhea clears, we will have to wait to book a carpet cleaner. Some may have had a good experience here, ours was not.

Terrible service. DO NOT BRiNG your dog here !!!!I was booked for weeks in advance, since we were going on vacation .When we arrived we had some questions for the owner and care taker . Just to make sure our puppy baby was well taken care of … and when we went to check him in they turned us away! And told us they were too busy!Also The owner told me they provided cots for the dogs and I didn’t see any in the kennels . They definitely don’t walk the dogs either .So now we had to drive 3 hours away to board our dog somewhere on such short notice .

We brought our three fur babies to Top Dog Kennel for the first time in December. We were very happy with the level of care our dogs received. The staff was friendly, prompt, and professional. They told us about the day out "Boys" had and thee staff took turns playing with them. We were visiting from Louisiana and went for day boarding but would feel very comfortable with overnight stays. Very close to "The Biltmore" too. Great value, as well. We will be back.❤️

After moving out of town and not using Top Dog Kennel for 15 years or so I was thrilled to see they are just as professional as I remembered.Was in town for half a day and desperate to get my senior dog groomed and pampered. They graciously made a last minute appointment for him and 3 hours later he was looking great and feeling even better!!Highly recommend for boarding and grooming services.Myself and my pack will all be back in the future.

Top Dog Kennel is an inviting and safe place to board your pet. We are not from the area, so had to relay on word of mouth to find a kennel. I happy to say we found a great place for our dog. We will use Top Dog again in the future.

This place is great! We've only had to use them once but it was a wonderful experience. Our dogs were happy and clean when we picked them up. The people where wonderful and the owner got top marks. She really helped us out and was polite and super understanding. They also sent us a thank you card after we pick up our pups. If we need dog boarding again, well definitely be back!

Top Dog is amazing! Everyone there is so kind and wonderful with our pups. We recently had to board our herding dogs for 10 days and were afraid that it would be hard on them. When we arrived to pick them up, they ignored us and ran out back to play because they love it there so much! It was wonderful to know that they had a fabulous vacation while we were on vacation. The extra special bonus was that they were immaculately bathed and groomed -- and so, so happy! Thank you Nick and everyone at Top Dog!! :)

Both my Doberman and my Chihuahua, Buster and Lucy, love it at Top Dog. They literally get so excited when we drive up and can't wait to go inside and see everyone. The staff is great and it's so reassuring to know they're getting the best care when I have to travel for work.

I have boarded my 2 dogs at Top Dog many times and have always had a good experience. My dogs are show dogs, with one winning 2 Best in Shows and Best of Breed at Crufts, so I would not entrust their care to just anybody. Each time I left them at Top Dog I felt they would be well taken of and I was never disappointed. Top Dog has my highest recommendation. Would definitely use them again.

I took my dog to this kennel religiously every time we went out of town before moving to a new state. I should have wrote this review about 2 years ago when I had just taken my dog to a new kennel but it slipped my mind 🤦🏽‍♀️. Long story short, when we arrived at the new place my dog immediately began whimpering. He peed on the floor and ran to the door trying to leave. HE HAS NEVER ACTED LIKE THIS. (And he’s not a puppy or a senior, he’s trained.) Everyone looked concerned. (And trust me when I say, I know MY dog.) Then it dawned on me that the last time, I left my dog in the “care” of someone, was at this kennel. I wasn’t here with him and my dog can’t tell me what occurred but I can only assume something occurred here that left him traumatized. I have no idea if the person may still work here who could have done something to him. But this is just to warn other dog parents... I’d never want another dog to act the way mine did that day. I felt beyond terrible. It’s sad because I had liked this kennel for the most part. But ever since the incident with my dog occurred. I really don’t trust kennels and I try to take my dog with me whenever I can. It’s sad that people do cruel things.

Yesterday we picked up our big dog Gus from a wonderful 5 day stay with Craig and Laura at Top Dog Kennels in McGraw NY. Craig and Laura are truly caring hosts, and their place is amazing and run with real understanding and love of dogs. At Top Dog, dogs large and small have many opportunities to run and play together in secure fenced areas in a nice wooded setting. There is nothing institutional about this place and it doesn’t smell like a Vet’s office. The facility is warm, clean and welcoming. Gus (111 pounds) had the “King Suite”, and he certainly was treated like one of the family. We can’t say enough nice things about Top Dog. We wish we lived closer so Gus could visit more often!! We’ll be back!!

After trying several boarding facilities in the Asheville area, we found Top Dog Kennel. Nick and his staff have been wonderful with Bella and Audry. We have them groomed there also. We have been pleased with both the grooming and the boarding. When our babies arrive, they go in willingly and come home happy. Top Dog is now our kennel of choice. We highly recommend it.

My 12 yr old Jack Russel has been staying at Top Dog Kennel in Swannanoa when I am out of town, since we moved here in 2015. I checked out several other kennels, but liked Top Dog best. One reason is that the owner, Nick, is a dog person himself and he is on hand consistently to make sure all dogs are treated like his own award winning pups. The staff are professional, yet friendly and have been working at Top Dog for at least a few years. That shows that they are happy there and that they too are well taken care of. Consistency in staff is a positive sign at “dog care” centers as well as at child care centers. I highly recommend Top Dog. I would trust no one else to care for my soon to be 13 year old Jack Russel!

Should be named trash can dog kennel. Just drove a hour there for an appointment to board my dog and like any dog owner I had question about the place and how they would be treated. They must pay Google to remove bad reviews. I ask about the dog they lost and if they would not loose mine, I ask about to dog picked up with open wounds and they said how did u know about that, then immediately told me they are to busy for my dog now and to find somewhere else. They know they are garbage so if u don't mind your dog getting hurt or staying in a trash can go for it.Warning Don't take dogs they

I’ve used Top Dog Kennel for many years and my dogs seem very happy there. Nick the owner breeds, shows, and judges dog shows so he is very knowledgeable about various breeds. And he is a groomer as well so dogs can get beautiful before you pick them up. I highly recommend this place!

We love Top Dog. They've kept our pups for decades, a week at a time. Sometimes you can see videos of your dogs playing while you're away. They truly love the dogs and treat them as if they do. Such a nice bunch of folks, and it's so great to not worry about your pups while you're away.

Hot dog kennel is a little out of the ways but is a great place to take your dog if you need to go out of state, they helped us out of a tight spot when our vet canceled our place for our dog Duke, would highly recommend them if you're looking to put your dog somewhere for a short. Of time or even a long. Of time which we had our dog up for 14 days oh, the exercise them treated them well and spoil them I highly recommend them

This kennel was recommended to me by a friend at first and then again by a stranger as I checked my dogs in for the first time. The staff is so polite and caring of the animals. I've always been hesitant of kennels because I thought they would just cage them and leave them only for potty breaks but I honestly believe they care and love on your pets throughout the day and give them plenty of outside time. Their rates are amazing too! Highly recommend

I bring a dog and a cat to Top Dog. Both get individual attention. The cat is allowed to roam in the office to break the monotony of the cage. The dog is allowed to play with the owner's dogs because she plays too roughly for most dogs. I am very happy leaving them in the care of Top Dog kennel

We bring our dog who doesn’t get along well with other dogs here for boarding. She absolutely loves it. She also hates having her nails trimmed, and this is the only place we’ve found that does an amazing job at that as well. We now live and hour away and still drive up to bring her here for both.

We have taken our dog to Top Dog for 3 years now. Every time he returns happy and healthy. And he is never sad to go. He loves them!Our boy is a 70 pound hound dog with boundless energy and a big voice; he was actually rejected by two other boarding services in Asheville because he was too high energy and likes to talk too much. Nick and Shanda at Top Dog didn’t bat an eye and accepted the challenge. We appreciate them and the love they give the animals there.Thanks Nick and Shanda and anyone else I haven’t met!
