I would give this bike shop zero stars if possible. I was looking for a Specialized Levo Turbo E bike. I could not find one locally in my size, so I ordered it online to be delivered to First Flight Bicycles in Statesville. I was so excited when they called to let me know my new bike was ready. I went to pick it up as soon as they opened this morning. The guy working in the shop asked my name, and then said “Oh. This is the bike you ordered from Specialized “. We brought pedals, and asked him to put them on , so we could check the fit. He said, I would have to charge for that,(they are screw in pedals).Then we asked if we could borrow a pedal wrench to install ourselves, and he said no. He never asked if I had any questions. He did not offer any information on the bike. His attitude was take your bike and leave. We were looking for to build a relationship with this shop. We will take our business to a different shop in the area, that will appreciate our business. We are relatively new to the area, we own 2 S Works road bikes, and 2 Specialized Analog Mountain Bikes. This shop should not be allowed to sell Specialized bikes.

I live in Raleigh and I've been on the hunt for a Santa Cruz Chameleon. Sold out everywhere, I decided to try looking elsewhere in the state and I finally landed on First Flight Bicycles. Before making the 2.5 hr trek, I called the store and Wes immediately put the bike on hold for me and made sure it was tuned up before my arrival. Once I got to the store, Wes's customer service was outstanding. I got setup with some accessories, he educated me on all of the new bike parts (I ride road), and he even helped me get the bike in the back of my car, but not before taking a picture of me and my new bike! It's a shame I don't live closer, this would be my new go-to store. The store itself is great, nice earthy tones, wood floors, a ton of walking space (kind of rare in bike stores), and it even looks like they're adding more social stuff. I saw this shop in town when I first moved to Statesville this summer - out walking for some exercise and scoping out the downtown area. Fast forward a few months and I decide to get a new bike for my son. Christmas is hectic enough so I wanted to go to a small locally owned place. So I left work a little early and stopped by the shop to start the process.The store is jammed packed full of goodies but not overdone so you can’t find anything. I’m no bike connoisseur so I patiently waited for some help. An associate cane over fairly quickly and once I stated what I needed, the owner came over to help me collect some info about the different bikes and price points. I asked if I could take pictures to share with my husband and it was no problem.I didn’t purchase the bike that day as I wanted the input from my husband (I had three solid choices). I returned another day to actually buy the bike. And because it is Christmas they are keeping the bike for me so my snoop doesn’t find it early on.Awesome customer service. Great selection. And a really friendly staff. I will be competing in my first triathlon later in 2018 and I will be returning to purchase my own bike.As a note - yes you can go to Walmart and get a bike. But that’s what you will get - a bike. If it needs tuning or a repair - you are on your own. Also - the bikes here look much better and who doesn’t want to support a small business??Go see Wes and the crew. They are super dope!!

I wish First Flight Bicycles were my local bike shop so I could easily visit with questions and future gear needs.After researching bikes, I found one I really liked and no one around me had it in stock (it’s a pandemic after all, so supply is less and demand is high) but about 2 hours away, there it was! I made the drive and was thrilled that the bike was exactly what I was looking for.But what really made my experience great was Edan’s outstanding customer service. He considered all of my questions and concerns without dismissing me as a novice and he was very helpful making tweaks here and there to make sure I had a comfortable fit. He also swapped out the saddle for me to help me find something more comfortable (it’s a dream as far as saddles go).After riding a used bike that was a bit too large which kept me from cycling as much as I wanted to, I am so happy with my new bike and can’t wait to work up to longer rides, explore the gravel in my area, and venture out into more of the state on two wheels.Beautiful shop, great customer service, wish it were my local!

Good guys Quality bikes, great inventory. The staff is attentive, helpful & knowledgeable. The invertory they stock is amazing. They were great to let me come check out a bike I was interested in.I just wish my trade value on my bike was closer to blue book value. I probably would have bought a bike that day if the values were different. Other than that my experience was excellent.

Great experience with buying bikes for myself and my family! Outstanding customer service during and after the sale. Wes, who owns the shop and McLean, a member of his staff, were both very knowledgeable and patient with us as we were purchasing from a bike shop for the first time. I bought a bike from this shop a few days ago. All of the people I worked with during the process were great. The shop was stocked with a bunch of different bikes. Pretty much anyone could go in and get something to fit their needs. When I arrived the bike I was planning to buy was up on a work stand getting a good final tune and, not kidding, the finger prints wiped off. I thought that was a sincere gesture that the dude (Edan) really cared that the bike left the shop in top condition. They also let me bring in my dog. I’d drive the hour and a half back out there to buy another bike from First Flight. One last thing, the reviews for the shop would be a perfect five stars if it weren’t for the two three star reviews from people who say they have never been inside.......

A good bike shop involves a relationship, and First Flight exemplifies that. I know that I can come in, be greeted by name (maybe even teased about how poorly I maintain my bike between trips), and cared for. Wes leads the shop well and Edan is an excellent mechanic who takes the time to listen about what's wrong and show you what he has done. I feel like the staff at FFB is committed to me having a great experience on two wheels.

I love how passionate Edan is about customer service and bikes. I've got some older bikes that were given to me, and Edan was able to fix them up and even give me tips about riding and care. I recently bought a tandem bike off Facebook for cheap that wasn't functioning, but Edan was able to find the issue and get it working. The communication was very clear, and he let me know what needed to be done and a price estimate before doing the work. I think Edan should get a raise. Thanks so much!

Best bike store in Iredell County, period!I went there to have my bike fixed. I was amazed by how knowledgeable and professional everybody working at the store.The staff were friendly and attentive. I destroyed my crank and they immediately got me straight in and fixed it, had to go back for a helmet and shin guards and they helped me get exactly what I needed, then destroyed my rear hub and once again they took my bike straight in and got me fixed again. These folks are awesome!! Highly Recommend!!

Kudos to Eden and Wes at First Flight. Wes was able to get me in on short notice last week (same day) for Eden to repair my balky shifters for my ride Saturday. Buttery smooth and trouble free! Sales, service and personalities outstanding at this shop. We have bought all of our family's bikes at First Flight. All this and a beverage bar to debut soon. What's not to love?

Super knowledgeable people, who want to get you the best bike in your budget. Edan helped me find a used bike within my price range that suited my needs. Couldn't be happier. Don't hesitate to stop in, no matter what your bike needs are. I saw bikes from $75 - 5000. Might just stop in to learn something next time... who knows!

After 15+ years without a bike, it was time to get a new one to ride with the kids. Edan helped me find exactly what I was looking for (no small feat, since I had no idea how to describe what I wanted!), and got me hooked up with a super comfortable, smooth-riding bike that was in my budget, without any of that annoying pushy up-selling. He listened to what my goals were and pulled a bike to fit them. Thanks, Edan! The kids are thrilled that their dad and I are finally riding with them. We’ll definitely be back for any future bike needs!!

I have purchased a new bike from these guys. They ordered just the model I wanted and added a few customizations for me. They also helped me work on a custom passion project for a good part of the summer and it turned out better than I could have hoped. Edan and Wes really went above and beyond locating and helping fit costom parts to make it possible. I plan on getting future bikes for my kids here and would recommend them to anyone intested in cycling.

My first time here and I stopped in on the way to BWR Asheville and the staff went out of their way to help me find a couple of last minute items. Nice selection of parts which is rare in these times and just the right stuff in stock. Was eyeing the beer and wine bar by so will definitely be back!

Was recommended/SOLD the WRONG size tire. NEVER used it because it DOESN'T FIT. Brought my bike in for them to diagnose why it DOESN'T FIT. WRONG SIZE TIRE RECCOMENDED/SOLD, but NO exchange for the CORRECT size tire. Service and responsibility are equally as important, if not more so, than product. Last visit. There are other, better bike shops. I obviously DO NOT recommend THIS one.

I’m currently shopping for a bicycleI have Not ridden in many years. The staff at first flight were extremely friendly knowledgeable and very courteous to a woman my age of 70. I highly recommend if you’re shopping for either yourself or for your children or grandchildren specially with Christmas coming I strongly recommend you stop by first flight and you will not be sorry.

Great bike shop, and with the recent addition of a bar with local beer selection, the coolest shop in Statesvegas. Wes and Edan are quick with a joke or a light of your smoke. Haha. Whether it’s bikes or beer, those two have got what you want. Oh, and if you’re hungry, try one of the burritos!!

This is mountain bike Heaven! Never seen a shop like this before. What an awesome collection of rare discontinued brand's early sport models and a great selection of the latest and greatest MTBs. I searched the collection thinking I would not find, and therefore suggest to the owner to look for, an old Amp bike from my neck of the woods in California. Sure enough upstairs there was one. Helpful service and great old store with goodies around every corner. In addition to 250 vintage bikes they also have tons of old bike parts grouped by type, old jerseys, posters and even a reference library of catalogs and publications. Take a trip there and also rent a bike for the great single track riding at Tsuli trails in Lake Norman State Park a bit south of Statesville. Muy cool!As for the two one star reviews that drag the over all rating way down: the first one is for a golf shop and should be removed and the second one is from a snot nosed roadie who expects them to take parts off a new bike so that he can go out and get in the way of cars. Bounce that clown too!

Well, the service is above and beyond what is required. The staff is highly knowledgeable about all the products they sell.Also it is a bike shop and the staff actually ride bikes on roads, trails, and gravel...I wouldn't trust a bikeshop where the workers or owner didn't actually ride bikes.
