Books and Beans was a pleasant surprise. The customer service, food, and atmosphere was top tier. Pictured is a bacon, egg, cheddar and turkey bacon, egg, and cheddar on Brioche buns. Also pictured is a Chai tea and caramel latte and both were delicious. The gentleman at the counter was funny and knowledgeable. I highly recommend a visit here.

What an adorable little spot! Coffee is crisp and delicious. Atmosphere is chill with plenty of outdoor seating. Dog friendly with water bowls for our fur baby! The food was spot on. Delicious panini sandwich. Highly recommend! Customer service was fantastic too!Parking: Parking available close by.

Such a cute little coffee spot! Located in Rocky Mount Mills this is a hidden gem. I was passing through and needed some caffeine so I stopped in. Customer service was great and the coffee was delicious. Such a fantastic vibe throughout, cute decor, very clean, and tons of books to choose from. Will be back when I'm in the area.

Books and Beans is a great little find. I have been here twice on my way through to get my Covid Vaccine. The location is in a nice little industrial complex, that looks like they repurposed an old building and gave it some great character.The sandwiches are amazing, and all named after famous authors and novels. The coffees are great too, but something I normally wouldn't get when grabbing a coffee surprised me, their chai.Probably the best chai I've tasted very well made! If you're looking for a great sandwiches and good drinks this is a great spot to try.

Very calm and historic coffee shop, the decor and set up was super cute, the baristas were very friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs (I asked for something cute, and they attempted to do some art on my latte) so I give them an A+ for effort!!Would most definitely go back!!

Amazing experience! Got the great gatsby sandwich, the chipotle aioli was AMAZING!! Chai tea latte was great too! Great, welcoming environment and great decorations. The encouragement to read a book (wide variety) was really cute! Staff were super kind and service was quick! Great price for the food!!

A vibrantly, fresh, minimalist-style coffeehouse. I just moved here from GSO which has coffeehouses on every corner all throughout town, and I am ecstatic to see more locally owned coffeehouses populating RM. I think the way this place could really make a step up is if they were to get their coffee beans/grounds locally sourced from NC (different types dark roast, medium roast, light roast, etc.). This shows support to other local businesses, and who doesn't like fresh beans? The service was great, interior pristine, and convenient location. Kudos!Edit: I'd love to hear about variety of roast updates! Not sure if the coffee I had was over-roasted, but I would love to see options of roasts to pick from on a countertop menu or something? Just as an option of feedback.

What a gem! If I lived in Rocky Mount, I'd be sure to be a regular here. Fantastic vibe, coffee, and (best of all?) selection of books! I love the library idea... wish I were around to take advantage of it.

This is such a lovely, clean, friendly little cafe. We stopped in on our way back to Raleigh from OBX for a bathroom, coffee and snack and we loved the experience.Family own and run, adorable theme and decor. You should absolutely stop in if you’re nearby!!

Books and Beans is a fairly new establishment located in Rocky Mount Mills.There was a cool atmosphere with a minimalist decorating style going on. I think that it’s displayed perfectly.The barista was super friendly and nice. She made a wonderful vanilla latte, and the price was reasonable. The cashier was very social & nice. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu.

My best friend and I went in before close and was surprised when after we paid that we were unable to sit and enjoy our beverages and pastries. The short man with glasses at the front desk asked all parties to leave out of the coffee shop. He stayed that they were now closed. We were able to sit outside in 30 degree weather. To me a good establishment would allow all patrons to dine as long as they were in before closing. Very unhappy this happened today

Nice coffee shop in part of the historic Rocky Mount Mills complex. Very friendly staff, my latte was perfect, wife's breakfast sandwich very good and the environment convivial. Very nice place for either a quick breakfast or for just hanging out.

Very nice atmosphere, clean and wonderful employees. Latte was not so good and so hot I scorched my mouth. The bagel wasn’t fresh or toasted fully and my drink never really cooled down to be drinkable. Maybe try checking the temp on the hot drinks as I’ve read other reviews about the temps. My friend however enjoyed his iced coffee and breakfast sandwich very much.

Stopped here for coffee/breakfast while driving through Rocky Mount. Excellent food and coffee, great service, reasonably priced, and nice atmosphere. Sandwiches are excellent and the staff is flexible about substitutions. Visited on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t overly busy — easily found a table and didn’t wait too long for food. Definitely recommend!

My daughter Lisa and I eat here every chance we get. The panini sandwiches are the best! I get The Bell Jar and she gets The Great Gatsby. Never disappointed by our selection. And to top it off they have a bit of nostalgia- Mrs George's famous Peanut Butter Pie. I ate at The Carolina Cafe as a teenager and brings back memories of eating it there. What a great place and we love Keely and Matthew. Highly recommend!! Cheri Dudley

Stopped in for breakfast to go, sandwich wasn't cooked per request. Coffee was not made per request either. There are better places to get coffee in Rocky Mount. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone.

We were in Rocky Mount for a 2 night stay on our way to Charleston, SC. We stayed at the nearby tiny houses which was cute! We needed breakfast and Books and Beans was a short stroll away. Super cute place! My husband and I had the best egg breakfast sandwich ever! Brioche bun, turkey sausage by choice, good amount of cheese,Delivered hot to our table! Wish we had more time to try their sandwiches!
