Great store. Extremely helpful regardless of who you get. unfortunately, no fish for us, but can't say it was due to them. Bait was top notch. There was no price gauging some of you may be concerned about. I bought my first surf rod here after shopping at bass pros/others. Very good pricing. Most everything on island is more expensive than mainland for obvious reasons. Owner also puts together many rigs at very reasonable prices. Wind/weather was not our friend this trip, but Tradewinds made a great impression.I am an active fishermen that visits local bait shops all the time. This was definitely a top notch experience.

Fantastic shop! I would give it 6 stars (or more) if I could. They spent a good amount of time to find the right equipment for me as well as explain the basics of surf fishing and where to go to catch fish on the island. With their guidance I caught close to 50 fish during my vacation week on Ocracoke (mostly keepers), which made an unforgettable trip even more satisfying. Thanks again and I will see yousoon! (hopefully next season)

This is an excellent, locally owned tackle shop. We visit it multiple times each year on vacation. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and can make recommendations for you if you enjoy fishing like my family does. They know all of the "spots" and all of the local charters. Prices are not out-of-line, especially since it is the only shop in town. If you have a problem with your equipment, they will get you going.

It is the only place on the island to air your tires back up when you get of the beach (we were in a friend's rented Jeep). The shop was well appointed. Very beachy. It smelled like a bait & tackle shop. Nothing bad, just fish & salt water. Certainly not offensive. The guys working the shop were funny & talkative. Very polite & helpful. Looking forward to visiting again.

Not sure what his name was working behind the counter on 6/9/21 but he was very rude to us! We asked a couple questions about fishing around the island and he seem terribly inconvenienced to answer us. Rolled his eyes and shook his head like we were stupid. If this is the way they treat customers, I will never go back again. I’ve never been treated like that. I will not return ever.

Employees are helpful and knowledgeable.TW also is a check in and weigh station that also sells fishing licenses. Defientlty a go to place, plus it's right next door to Jason's Restaurant.
