Ok, if you are looking for local crafts and gifts in Ocracoke, you must stop here. The small house is packed with very unique items from ceramics to kids toys to usable artwork. We purchased 3 wool lint balls, a ceramic wine glass and 2 of the cool creatures (see the pic). I don’t know who was working last Wednesday, she was busy and very friendly. Thank you!

So many great options for gifting or indulging a passion for yourself... Lovely handcrafted items to choose from, and some made to order, as well! We found too many treasures to list... Like most places, parking is tight, so plan accordingly to minimize stress!

I absolutely love this place! So many magical, unique, inexpensive and expensive, joyful, hilarious, sweet, useful, & eclectic items! How anyone can’t find SOMETHING in this store is beyond me? This will always be my go to place when we visit Ocracoke. I left the store wanting to buy more! The owner, Cathy was simply a pleasure to talk to & she wrapped up all my goodies so they would be safe traveling. I’m using my original hand warmer coffee cup right now (and every day) & my son uses his Lollipop Pottery “monster” cup every day too! Simply put- just go there! You won’t be disappointed, EVER! 😊

Over the Moon is an arts and crafts gallery full of eclectic pottery, jewelry, cards, woodwork and innumerable other hand crafted items - most with a laugh out loud humorous twist. I could spend hours here!

Visiting Ocracoke is not complete without a stop at Over the Moon!! The owner has created a space that is artfully curated with gifts that will appeal to everyone (and every budget). Room after room to lose yourself in..I found myself laughing at the card selection after perusing the beautiful selection of jewelry. Over the Moon carries one of my favorite potters (I purchased a beautiful bowl for my father's wedding present!) along with so may other fabulous items. The owner and staff are friendly and always helpful so do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't be disappointed.

Best place for fun and quirky! Over the years, I have bought everything from handpainted metal cut mermaid light switch covers to toe rings to super cool prints to give as gifts. The owner and staff are HILARIOUS and take a moment to chat. Can't wait to go back!

This was, hands-down, my favorite shop on the island. The selection is varied, thematically consistent, and truly artistic.The owner is the cherry on top, however. She’s excellent. She might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can make mine a double! We’ll be back, for sure.

I've been vacationing on Ocracoke for a decade and ALWAYS make it a point to visit Over the Moon 2 or 3 times each time we are on the island because there is so much to see. Cathy has an artist's eye and this store is a work of art in itself. She has curated artwork in every medium from all over the southeast and beyond. My wife and I have bought gifts for ourselves, each other and friends and family. There is something beautiful for everyone you know here at very affordable prices. Highly recommend.

this store should be called o er the owner . I asked her to see a ring that was at the front counter ...well it didn't fit so I asked if she had any in bigger sizesshe proceeds to tell me she does and pulls out a bowl with 4 rings ...4 I counted . when I saw that these were also to small and told her thank you . well then here we go she looks me straight in the eyes and proceeds to tell me there were 6 rings in this bowl and that she counted them when she put them in there . lie no. 2 I watched her pull the bowl out of a small box from under the counter and immediately set it on the counter . unless she can count to 6 in about 1.5 seconds then not at all possible. so I counter back as to tell her how inappropriate it is to accuse someone of stealing especially when you haven't broken eye contact with the individual the whole transaction (because yes I'm apparently going to just go whoop I think I'll just slide this in my pocket while you and me are talking face to face ,like you didn't see anything..hmmm no.) and told her that I didn't appreciate being embarrassed in front of 3 other customers . oh well now she changes her attitude. now it's oh I wasn't accusing you. I was just "saying". like what do you think that means lady. just to let y'all know don't go to the store unless you want to be accused of shoplifting. absolutely horrible and utterly inappropriate behavior from the proprietor.

Over the Moon is a must when I am on Ocracoke!! I know I will find the most unique gifts and things for my home. I enjoy wondering around in the different rooms soaking up all the wonderful items they have to offer. I have literally spent over an hour reading the whimsical cards they have. Over the Moon is definitely one of my favorite, if not my favorite , shop to visit when I am on the Island!! Thank you Cathy for having such a refreshing and fun shop!

I visit this shop every time I come to Ocracoke. They carry a great collection of reuse art; practical and just fun items made from old stuff. They have great clocks made from computer parts, cool signs made from cut up license plates and coasters made from skateboards. Very nice owner too! Check it out.

The lady that works there was a very nice lady. Having said that this place is more geared for women a 20 ages of 12 and 40. That's just my opinion I didn't buy anything but there really wasn't anything there that I felt was for me or my wife and she's 55

Always a "must stop" for us. We typically find something at this shop on every occasion. Pottery, wooden items (spoons, bowls, clocks, etc.), and jewellery along with things for kids! They also sell the recycled mats you see on the front of many doorsteps on the islands.
