Super cool atmosphere.Oyster shooter was cool with a commemorate shot glass. The beer version was good with a slight spice to it. Oyster was already in the glass. There are better shooters on the island but the souvenir was nice!Steamed Oysters were just ok, pretty dry and small. Tonic had a terrible taste. I had to give back my drink because I just couldn't drink it.Server at the bar was awesome.

30-minute wait for a late lunch... not bad considering it was freaking packed, and Smacnally's was an hour and a half wait. Pretty cool decor and atmosphere. There are lots of great local brews on tap. Everyone enjoyed their food! My chicken sandwich was awesome. Our server, Alex, was awesome. Great spot for lunch or dinner when visiting Ocracoke Island!

We got a nice greeting by the hostess, atmosphere looked fun, and we loved the license plate from all over. We gave Howard’s Pub a try for its history and long presence on the island but the food was mediocre at best. We got a seafood platter and it was bland (fries & hush pups also came out cold & soggy). Our waitress was in and out with no island hospitality.

Upon arriving to Ocracoke Island after a 2+ hr wait at the terminal and a 1 hr ferry trip, this was the first restaurant we came across. It was large and looked very inviting from the outside. However, once inside we were pleasantly surprised. Great staff to take your order and refill beverages. Great ambiance. Great background music (if you like 70s-80s music). But, the food was absolutely delicious.I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. My friend ordered the steamed shrimp. Everything was great. Highly recommended.

This was my very first time on Oracoke Island ever and the people were fabulous!!! My wife and I decided to come to Howard’s Pub for lunch!!! It was the very best decision of the day!!! The service and staff were excellent!!! The food was served promptly and it was hot and very delicious!!!! My wife and I will definitely be coming back this restaurant again when we come back to this area!!! I highly recommend this place for food you won’t be disappointed!!! My wife got the shrimp basket with fries I got the ribeye steak with Cole slaw and hush puppies. We shared the shrimp and crab dip. A+Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp for handicapped individuals. Be careful in the parking lot where there are large puddles of water

Definitely a town favorite! Wish I could've gotten pictures of the food but I was so hungry and it was so good, I swallowed it before remembering that I was supposed to take pictures! But I did get the menus! The character in this restaurant/bar is everything! We could've stayed all night! They also offer merchandise like cups, hats, shirts, etc. It's also right next to a brewery. Make sure you stop here and enjoy some amazing food!

Come on... We've been going here for over 15 years. . The food is the best!!! You really don't want to go home when you come here!!! We love you Howard's!!!! please never close 😘 😋. It makes our vacation worthwhile!!👍😘 We had a party of 25. Everything on the menu was tried. This was a $1000. Meal. Worth every penny!! Thank you guys!! Love from the Alfanos!.. amazing oysters fresh seafood There's nice clothing too bearing their name. Cute things!! Definitely on the Ocean!! There's a balcony too!!💕Vegetarian options: Ask there's so much to decide. They will do anything to please your palate!! I'm GF and dairy free....Dietary restrictions: Like I said I'm dairy and GF, there's allot of food to decide. Salads were awesome. Oysters too, etc

I’ve been coming to Ocracoke for many years every time we come we try Howard’s pub unfortunately this year was very disappointing. Although it’s the beginning of the season you would think the staff would interact with customers visiting however, the bartender decided it was easier to talk to the local down at the other end of the bar rather than pay attention to us in the end, we asked the bartender that was not serving us to give us our check because the other girl was still engaged in her conversation. Food was mediocre. I had scallops some overcooked someone just right, but the plate was flooded with liquid, which made my fries very soggy . Here for two weeks will not be going back to Howards. Pay attention people the locals are here to stay. It’s your visitors and their reviews that will make your season.

Y'all need to make Howard's a stop on your visit to Ocracoke Island👍👍👍. I haven't eaten it Howards in about 15 years since we last visited Ocracoke. We stopped to eat at approximately 1 PM on a Thursday after we had done a bit of touristing in Ocracoke Village when we were headed back to the Hatteras ferry. We walked in the door and we were warmly greeted by the smiling hostesses. Our server walked up within about a minute and offered beverages while we looked at the menu. The ice tea bordered on extraordinary! You could tell it was freshly brewed. My husband got the fried oyster sandwich and I got the fish of the day sandwich which was fried bluefish. Fried bluefish!? As many of y'all know bluefish is a heavier oilier fish like mackerel. It was very lightly breaded quick fried and not at all oily or greasy and it was delicious! Dense brioche rolls held up to the fillings. The portions were generous. Service was attentive and friendly.NOTE! Those of you in the arm forces whether active duty or retired, or those of you in any line of law enforcement or a first responder, please bring a patch from your group. Howards has patches from military branches, from law enforcement, from EMTs, first responders tacked all over the place. If your group is not represented they will graciously add yours to the extensive collection.Vegetarian options: Impossible burger, veggie wrapWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for wheelchairs or someone who doesn't want to deal with 6 stairs

I am consistently disappointed by this restaurant. $12+ Sandwiches with no fries included, ridiculously over priced drinks and beer, and this time in particular the Buffalo shrimp were definitely not fresh local fried shrimp, but frozen sticky microwave shrimp. I have literally had better food at McDonald's that certainly didn't cost $60. I miss the old Howard's I grew up eating 20yrs ago

Typical food selection as you'd expect of coastal places. Came in March which is still off season. Able to sit right away. Ordered their oyster Rockefeller and it's pretty tasty. Hubby got the build your own seafood option; picked shrimp, scallops, and oysters. All fried. Scallops were cooked right. The others so and so especially the oysters.In the summer, it must be hopping. Their front porch is quite large with 2 Foosball available for patrons.

Brandon was an exceptional bartender!! He not only served us delicious cocktails but Ocracoke history as well!! We deliberately came here to see him and talk with such a funny, kind entertainer!! If you ever are in Ocracoke you MUST pay him a visit at lunchtime!!! Oh, and the oysters Rockefeller and shrimp and crab dip were scrumptious!!!

We were looking for a place to eat while over at Ocracoke. I saw this place on the way into town and after striking out on a place right in the village, we stopped at Howard’s on the way back to the ferry. Apparently Saturdays are a good time to go because there was hardly any wait. Our waiter was very friendly and we received our food very quickly. I had the shrimp basket, which was excellent. My oldest son had the mahi mahi sandwich, which he said was good, and my wife and youngest son split a build your own dish which consisted of the fish of the day, a crab cake, and shrimp, along with fries and hush puppies. Also very good! The atmosphere is about what you would expect at your typical pub or oyster bar, but it wasn’t loud or obnoxious. Dine in or out on the screened in deck. I highly recommend this place.

Without question this is a must stop if you find your self staying at Ocracoke Island. Not only the food but the overall experience was amazing. I wish I took more pictures. The customer care, attention to keeping our tables clear and beverages coming, server was on point.The Raw Oysters did not disappoint in your a fan. The tuna, the fish of the day, were so delicious and perfectly cooked, I'm ready to go back.You owe to your self to check this place if you visit the island.

I’m here slightly off-season and this place is packed with room to spare. I got the grilled offshore fresh fish of the day which was mahi mahi. The shrimp roll appetizer and it came out really fast considering the number of people. Great service by Peter.

We stopped in here after a ride over on the ferry. We tossed around some ideas and found this one of the restaurants open for dine in. We were NOT disappointed!!! They even catered to my kids picky eating habits. Our waiter was so attentive and kept the drinks filled. Definitely a must try!

An ABSOLUTE must! You made it to the island! You have to hit Howard’s Pub! I have to be honest the food blew us away. If you’re in the mood for a burger check out the Carolina Burger! Our server Christian was great as well. It will get busy so either get there early or plan on a wait but it’s worth it!

First time here. Had the crab cakes which were delish, Mac and cheese was okay not homemade and coleslaw which had a tolorable amount of dill. My party had the burgers which were great and tuna sandwich was very good. They also have a look out deck that closes half hour past sunset. The inside is really neat. Overall worth the visit. Arrived Sunday around noon and wasn't too busy.

First night on the island. Stopped in at 7p.m. Not crowded so no waiting and also a Monday. The food was very good. Our party of 5 were pleased after a long day.Parking: Plenty and easy in and out.

Howard's came recommended by a friend who visits Ocracoke each year. We made it out first stop for dinner and weren't disappointed. There's a ton of cool things decorating the entire inside, with large seating areas inside and outside. There's even a rooftop deck! The food is on par with most places we go, but the seafood stands out. When Howard's says fresh, they mean fresh! As in this morning it was swimming in the ocean and today it's on the plate! It seemed like every other party we saw had a Howard's shirt, so pay the huge apparel shop a visit and join the club! All in all a fun stop with good food and very fresh local seafood.

I wanted to stop some place for raw oysters. I didn’t think you could mess that up, boy was I wrong. I’ve eaten raw oysters for years… never have I ever been served a dozen raw on a HEATED plate. The crackers were stale, and the oysters were hot and tiny.I was seated quickly and service was decent.I think I will go down the street for my next dozen. 👎🏻

We usually stop here when we visit Ocracoke and it’s good, consistent food. However, a few of the clam strips were not fully cooked and had raw dough. The macaroni & cheese had no flavor whatsoever. The redeeming factor was the crab & shrimp dip appetizer.Kid-friendliness: The kids get to keep the frisbee that the food is served on.
