It (for the most part) serves its purpose. Obviously this is not a job nor place where expectations are high in regards to payrate or (in most items) quality. For low income & those looking to save a few pennies this might become your go to for household items, clothing, and even bargains on electronics.

The cashiers are rude.No greeting before ringing up your items,say your total so low that it seems like they are talking to themselves.The workers on the floor act like they hate for you to ask for help also. The best thing about the store is great deals and the store is neat and clean.

They had the (off brand) sterno that I was looking for, but I probably wouldn't go back regularly. They have cheap things, but they don't look to be of great quality. Most products are off-brand, which I don't mind when it looks to be of good quality. The name brand items they did have seemed to be at a discount. The store wasn't very organized and selection was picked over. The staff was very nice, and the cashier did a great job of moving the long line. Overall, not a place I'd shop often but better service than Wal-Mart.

Stopped here to get some garden, planting supplies. Initially was happy with the pricing, but when it came to checking out is where the stars all fell off! First there was only 1 register open and the clerk was taking her go old time checking out the customer in front of me. Then after 5 minutes she decided to pick up the phone and page another check out person. That person never came. In the interim, the manager Tony came up front to do something with the register and walked away. Didn't offer to check me out or get someone else up front. About 8 minutes later she paged again after now there were 3 more people behind me. About 3-4 minutes later someone finally came up and told the last person in the line of now 4 that she would take him on her register! I strongly suspect a possible reason why she told the last person in line to come to her register. This is totally unprofessional and unacceptable! The other 2 ladies behind me also were livid and could only shake their heads in disbelief.Then to top it all off, after walking outside I discovered the register rang up the wrong price on one of my items, So I had to go back in to deal with that, and Of course they had to page a manager who took about 4 minutes to come up front. Would have to be very hard pressed or desperate to come back in here again.

I have 2 stars, why? Because this lady or employee that works there called andrea steals my money i returned two things in the past days i had this under pad thing for my mattress and when i returned it i payed with cash and a visa and when i returned it she said she needed that visa to put the money again which i got from my car then she 'put' the money back to the visa which she had to put exaclty $8.35 back to that visa but then today when i tried using it again it said that it was declined i tried it in dollar tree and family dollar and it said it was declined by both of them. So now i put the money that was on the visa to amazon to really check how much she put there and it said 4 dollars this place robs your money and before this happened this lady andrea again robbed my money because she only gave me cents and not the actuall dollars i was supposed to get. NEVER trust this woman andrea when coming to return something i hope she or roses needed it more than me because the past years i have always been happy and never had a problem. I hate andrea and how she robbed me twice and i hope she gets fired for stealing money from me and taking advantage. If i could put zero stars if i could.

Was in line for about 10 minutes while the gentleman ate snacks. When he finally finished, he motion the lady to the register behind me. While I still waited. Will not ever try to purchase anything there again.

went into the roses in New Bern today and was helped out by Craig and Ron. they did something that was above and beyond the realm of what there job requires. They showed me today that good and caring people still exist. Thank you Craig and Ron God bless you!!! You truly deserve a raise!!!

They always have one register open you have to wait forever just to check out and they should rename roses to plus-size roses I found one medium dress it had a stain on it it's ridiculous because every time we go in there all you see is 1xl 2XL and 3XL it's impossible to find a medium dress inside that store you might as well just go somewhere else and not waste your time it's impossible to try on anything in there because they're so busy you can't never get somebody to open up the fitting room because the one person is checking people out with the huge line in it

The reason I gave The Roses in New Bern,Nc 5 star's Is because 3 of the lady's who work there are always so helpful an respectful.(Paula & sharri & Randi) So I wanted to say thank you so much for ALWAYS going out of your way to help my disabled mother while she's there shopping an also Paula honey you are by far one of the hardest worker's I have ever seen an you no your job so we'll an you know the prices an ware everything's at in the store without even going to look that's crazy but so cool.. me an my mother could easily go to the Roses in Kinston NC but we don't because of the great service we get here from you three.......
