If you live in the county, you don't need to go to New Bern for any building project.My last visit was for nuts and bolts. I take pictures and go up to the counter for getting rung up.Save yourself time and drop by.

I placed an order for 18 bags of black rubber mulch on Sunday The 24th. Since I missed the deadline by six minutes, I was told that the order would not arrive that Wednesday coming up but the following week on Wednesday. OK fast forward to Thursday of the same week in Lowe’s could get me the mulch the next day so I ordered it from Lowe’s. I figured I could cancel this order. There is nothing on the receipt or the website that says if you cancel an order there’s a restocking fee. So I am confused on why I tried to cancel an order that was six days out from shipping and got charged a 40% restocking fee. this is something the owner decided to do because he was upset that I canceled the order, businesses should not be allowed to take advantage of people. As a customer, I had every right to cancel the order. I can understand if the order has shipped or if it was already at the store, but it had not, and it was not at the store. Lowes got the order to me the next day after I purchased what I was trying to buy. It just seems a little vindictive that this business is trying to take 40% for a cancellation and it’s not posted anywhere. It says on the website and the receipt that you can cancel or return the order and there’s no penalty so why am I being charge 40% for canceling my order. Actually, the order was canceled without them calling me back. I received no email about the order or about the cancellation. The only thing I have is this receipt so without my go ahead on the cancellation because they wouldn’t talk to me he just went on and canceled the order and took 40% and gave me 60% on his own. It makes no sense that I could’ve let the order come to the store and then did a return without a charge versus canceling order before it gets here and being charged 40%.

Leonard is such a nice and friendly man when I go to this location. He always greets me and is helpful, even grabbing the door for me when I have too much stuff. Lol Great employee!

Bring OEM blank key to cut because most accurate. I don’t need to program it. They don’t cut unless you buy blank key from them.Don’t waste your time unless you want to buy their blank key.

I went to the store on January 4th. They had a 75% sale on Christmas items. I bought some items and my husband went today to buy items for next year. What I appreciate is that everyone was so nice and helpful. They seemed to really love working there.

Five star for me especially after the sorry Forrest farm supply in Bayboro.Excellent service at Ace. Got a Stihl chain saw, blower, ear protection, case, extra chain, and oil. They rocked it!!! Avoid Forrest farm supply in Bayboro, do yourself a favor and head to Down East Ace. Well worth the drive. They take time to help and have the full capability to authorize a sell and sale! Need to update hours online, i just drove all 20 minutes to get here at 5:02 on a Sunday because the page says it closes at 6, but the sign on the window says 5. Their staff is extremely helpful and checks in on you to offer help. I just dislike having my time wasted

Went to get a grill for my husband for Father's day. The one I wanted was not in stocks. The gentleman helped me get one online and delivered to our place when it was convenient for me. Great friendly staff. Great garden and outdoor decor.

Brought a brand new Stilh chainsaw few weeks ago used for the first time today saw will not shut off unless I choke it off and chain keeps getting loose brought it back to store only to be told I have to take it somewhere to get warranty work done so now I can't finish for weeks what I need done.

There was a tree that had leaves and lights on it. Two associates told me the tree was 75 percent off. However when I went to purchase it the manager said it was a fall item and was only 30 percent off. Certainly this is a scam on his part.

So much easier to shop here, as they have the friendliest staff. It was wonderful not to have to try and chase someone down for help. THIS Ace store and employees know how to work with their neighbors. Some people say prices might be a little more, but how do you put a price on quality products and the people who stand behind their products.

Greeted as soon as I walked in the door. I was escorted to what I needed, but I'm sure I could have browsed on my own. One associate was asked if he was the plumbing guru, in which he replied "Possibly" though I'm thinking he was. Lol. Super clean store, great lay out, and no packed aisles like the Big Box stores. Definitely going back. Lowes, you lost some business with the self checkout.

Needed a weird battery for a surefire flashlight and two of the guys seriously spent 20 minutes helping me figure out what battery was needed. We ended up not finding it at their store but the customer service was top notch. They exhausted all avenues to help me and even have some helpful resources for who might have the one I needed. I can't remember their names but they know who they are. This was all for a 10-15 dollar battery sale, and I think they made a customer for life.

Everyone was nice, just had to walk the store over and over before finding someone to help. Then to find out you did not carry the lint cleaner for dryers, nor rubber belts for vacuum cleaners. Did find a door hanger I loved.

I drove all the way from Jacksonville to this location because they had Gardz sealant and I was very happy to do so. Not only was their online ordering system great, but it was up to date and when I arrived at the location, I was surprised by how nice, new, and large the location was. I was also greeted immediately and was shown where to find the item I was looking for. It was nice having multiple people at checkout and the service was really fast. Wish there were more of these around.

They had the garden tools I needed at a really good price. It's a big store and clean. The employees were very helpful and friendly and offered to help me out to my car since I had two kids with me. I will definitely keep shopping here.

I'm sorry for the 3 stars. My first time in this Ace, and I LOVE Ace Hardware...I even stop in them on road trips because they all have their own unique flare. Sadly, the selection was limited, the prices are unbelievably high, but that could be because of Uncle Biden, and the young ladies behind the counter had zero knowledge of products they carry, they seemed put off by having to search their internet device for products and generally have no customer service skills. Doing the bare minimum is not enough to sustain a business. I may or may not come back to shop at this Ace again.

This is the biggest Ace Hardware I’ve ever seen. I was greeted by several employees as I browsed the aisles. I am a bird lover and they had very large selection of birdseed and bird feeders on sale. The employee at the paint desk answered all my questions and made two keys for me in just a few minutes! Great customer service and a convenient location. Just what we need on this side of town.

I have been frequenting Down East Ace since they opened a couple of months ago. My first project was to paint a couple of rooms and I was handled by Anthony. He was extremely knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction for the job. I came back again and actually asked for him, to assist with other projects. He introduced me to John, the owner, and we had a nice conversation about his community vision for the . What a great experience. I will not hesitate to come back, again and again!

This is the largest and best stocked Ace I have ever been to. It has to be 6 times the size of most stores. I was looking for an item that was out of stock at my closest Ace but it was available here. Nice
