There are some staff that are not at all customer friendly. One clerk in particular that I have observed being be rude to customers who were not in a position to push back (one elderly, one hearing impaired). I should have spoken up at that time. This week she directed her venom on me. No longer a customer there however the clerk did get pushback. If you are not customer centric, you need to work in another capacity.

The Morganton location always has exactly what I need anytime o need specific specialty item for any unique task I'm working on. The selection this location offers are simply amazing. I'm referring to the individual nuts, bolts, washers, fasteners selection.

This location has friendly and helpful staff. When my dad sends me to get a part I know nothing about, they always help us find it. The atmosphere is also good here. I also like the complementary popcorn they have. Overall, this is a great store!

Went by there to have a key fob and some chip keys made for my car. Someone told me that they did that there. I was serviced by a young lady named Dominique. It was the most professional and pleasant experience I have had in a long time in dealing with such matters. My hats off to this company for hiring good people who know how to do their job and to treat customers. If you need key fobs or chip keys made for your car, instead of spending a small fortune at a car dealership go to Morganton Hardware! You'll be glad you did!

Thank you ACE Hardware! We needed our propane tank filled on a Saturday and were refused at the Hickory Uhaul store because it was raining. My husband called ACE and they assured him that they would be happy to fill it rain or shine. The friendly staff filled the tank in the rain without complaint!

Nice selections. Staff friendly. Service sucked. Made 4 trips to get a key made. First trip was my fault. Didn't have car with me. Next 3 trips was told different excuse why they couldn't help me. Last conversation was with a manager. The excuse was short staff. I understand how it is to be short of staff. I work in a small business. But if you have 5 minutes to explain to me why you can't help, you have time to start helping me.

I liked the store, but since remoldling it, it has lost a lot of the character. Also, the handicap stall in the ladies' room still has a short toilet that is not ADA or handicap friendly. My wife slipped and hurt her knee while using that stall. We are now at the DR.

The atmosphere gives the same warm, familiar feelings g as it did when I worked here 30 years ago. Without fail, if I have a unique hardware need, this place always has what I need. The staff is always friendly and jovial, which adds to the inviting experience

We went there to get some keys made. For 2 house keys it was $6 and some change. Not bad and there was only a minute or two wait. The keys worked perfectly!

I haven't shopped at Ace hardware and a long time my wife had me go by to buy a fold out table and some chairs they had on sale and I can tell you that the customer service at this store is beyond outstanding I had three separate employees helping me and they were happy to help me and found the products I was looking for quickly they even help me load it into my truck since I had my son with me I will be purchasing all of my tools and anything they have in stock from them now try to get any kind of customer service at the big box stores like Lowe's or Home Depot and they are non-existent I seen no less than six employees in this store while I was in there. I'm very impressed and I will be back for all my needs!!!!

They wasted my time, caused a delay in a water pipe repair and after 3 weeks of waiting that got the wrong item in. Its okay to shop there if its in stock. Do NOT DEPEND on their word if they say "It is on the way and should be on the next truck" or a week later when you call and ask for status update and they state "its not here yet" or when you check two weeks later and told "Scott (manager) will call you when it arrives. He knows your waiting, has your contact info and he'll get in touch" or on week three when YOU call them one more time and they say "Yes! Its here and on the floor for purchase." You ask "are you sure its the 1" psi 160 and they again they say "yes" or after you drive 40 mile trip to arrive only to find out its 100psi. Waste of my time. There customer service is useless.

I have been hearing on the local radio station (The Big Dawg) the advertisements for your store and they claim that Ace is a friendly place. I like supporting local businesses and that Ace can save me a lot of time instead of a big box store, but I couldn’t agree that your store is friendly by any means. In the past I have been denied service for paint because I got confused between a pint and quart. This same long term employee has also snickered when I asked for a piece of cut glass. He is also wasn’t the most helpful when I was looking for a specific type of soil and just gruffly stated “that’s all we have, so find it or we don’t have it.” This past Sunday I needed some plumbing supplies to fix a leak and I finally got friendly service. I asked a young man who was super helpful and he not only happily helped me he, answered my questions and saved me money by explaining why I didn’t need the rings I thought I might. I think your weekday employees should be required to take a training that teaches these employees that not every customer that communicates differently from themselves still deserve to be treated with respect. Maybe something like a diversity training. I am happy to discuss these issues in more detail, just contact me through google.

My husband and I went to Ace today to get 2 keys programmed. John Thao was the one who helped us. He needed the car there, but we couldn't get it there because the new keys wouldn't start it. He asked us where the car was and drove out to where we had the car and programmed the keys for us. He was a great help. Exceptional customer service. He was there to save the day. I can't say much for the other guy though. He pretty much said there was nothing he could do and walked away. Don't remember his name.

Stopped by to purchase some bags of fertilizer, and asked someone inside to please tell me where it was. He pointed to the door and said out on the patio, I looked everywhere. It wasn't on the patio, so I asked someone else, and the said under the green roof outside. Not one person offered to walk with me to help me find it. The 2nd employee I asked was also rude, (along with not assisting me). I went out and loaded a 50 pound bag alone. No one offered to help. Their customer service has gone downhill.

Prices are consistently higher in store than on their website. For instance, on their website an item may be $19.99, in store the price is $21.99. Anyone not looking up the price before or after may not know they are being overcharged. Seems really shady.
