Lied about a cat's personalityI needed a cat to be a playmate for the cat I already had because she was bored while I was at work. They told me the particular cat I was interested in was very playful and loved other cats. It was about a year after having this cat before she would even come out of hiding. Now when cat 1 plays with cat 2, she ends up hurting her. I will never send her back to the shelter and have grown to love her, but maybe don't lie about the animal's demeanor because others will send the animal back.

Couldn’t help in anyway when a cat was stuck in a tree about 20-30 feet up in the air. No one else can help in these kind of situations apparently not even animal control/animal emergency service. 👎🏼

The lady we dealt with us fun and amazing! We laughed and had the best time. Will go back for my next rescue for sure!

They gave me a dog they knew had heartworms and never said anything about it. I didn't find out until they sent me the dogs shot records for the vet. So far the treatment has costed me $900.00 and the vet estimates it will cost around $3000 when it's all over. Just be careful and ask for shot/vet records before you adopt.

Don’t bother inquiring about an animal from them. After a WEEK and still no response. Save you time and look at other shelters.

Awful people to deal with. Adopted an older dog who unfortunately wouldn't get along with our other pups so I decided instead of putting him back into the shelter, I found him a nice home near the beach with a new owner who was very excited to have him. Was then greeted by an animal control officer with a major attitude threatening everyone on the property with being arrested if the dog wasn't returned to the shelter instead of in another home. Turns out, after the new owner had the dog taken to the vet, he was both lime disease and heartworm positive. I was never informed that he had any serious illnesses such as those. This has been at least the third time I've had issues with this shelter. Before that, we had a cat scheduled to have a spay that we cancelled because we found out last minute that she was pregnant. We were told that if we didn't just get her spayed and kill the kittens we were banned from ever adopting or using their services again. Way to save the animals. It's a miracle that this shelter hasn't been shut down.

This was the best experience we've had, rescuing a doggie. This is our fourth rescue. Whitney was so pleasant, positive and happy to be there! She made everything very clear and easy to understand. She answered every one of my thousand questioneven! Go rescue a fur baby here!

They can open your messages on messenger, but can't do the simplest of things which is RESPOND. They lie like all shelters and say they are "no kill", but how do you make room for new felines if your over crowded 🤔. Just like all other places they're not helpful in helping you find shelter or individuals willing to take in strays, feral, d@mn baby kittens that need help. Why go to school for whatever you do, and choose to do the job if your not going to be helpful.

The dogs here are not looked at by a vet at all I adopted a dog then found out she needs a surgery that costs $3,000 within 2 weeks of adopting the dog and was told by Franklin County Animal Shelter that if I don’t want to pay for it I can bring the dog back or exchange it for another one. The vet I brought the dog to said that the condition was pre existing and I even offered to provide documentation. DO NOT recommend this shelter at all. If they can not afford to correctly run a shelter then they shouldn’t be open.

Adopted two adorable, healthy, playful kittens at 7 weeks old and we absolutely love them. When we picked them out, they had already received their first shots, been dewormed and de-flea'd, AND microchipped, all for $25 each. What a bargain. The staff at the shelter were super nice and helpful. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend Franklin Co Animal Shelter to anyone looking to adopt.

Great shelter. The staff is very friendly and caring. The facility is clean and the animals are cared for properly. The adoption process for an animal is quick and makes selecting a new friend easy. Their prices are unbeatable for adopting and I would recommend anybody that is looking to stop here first and see the pets they have for adoption.

I spoke on the phone to a woman at the shelter trying to find out information about a jack Russell Mix that went Viral one Facebook. I think the worlds hearts were captured by the sad picture posted of this dog who was terrified baring into a corner of the room. I of coarse wanted her but the woman kindly told me she could only be rescued and go through rehab to learn to get over her fears. I want to note how kind this person was after she told me they had had over 5,000 FaceBook responses and 500 phone calls. I had lots of questions and she answered every one thoroughly and with sweet and cheerful attitude. Thank you for your special heart for people who care and for loving on these little four legged darlings.

a small shelter doing great things for those 4 legged kids that get abused, forgotten and feel unloved. They take the time to spend extra moments with those poor pups who are scared and unsure why they are in a strange environment.remember people, shelters exist for these animals because of a HUMAN problem, not an animal problem.Spay, Neuter, Adopt and donate to these shelters to help them. Period.I have a girl who was adopted/rescued from this shelter and I can't say enough about their loving animal control officers.

I would really like to know who I can reach out to and who can write me a check for the $1,200 I had to personally pay as a 19-year old, in order to resuscitate the 2 kittens and pay for emergency pet bills due to your negligence as a shelter. I had two kittens die in my arms. You guys did NOT disclose any sort of issues that these kittens would have.

Witnessing my girlfriend and her father adopt 5 kittens from you guys and having two of them die within 36 hours due to your lack of care as a shelter, is astonishing. You didn't even warn us that these kittens were ill, or were exposed to dangerous diseases such as Coccidia. We are all struggling to pay the bills as we had to all use our savings in order to save the two kittens, who ended up dying at vet offices, and trying to save the final three kittens we have left who are barely clinging onto life. You guys should be ashamed. The fact you don't even care and on both instances brushed it off and said "ehh... it happens", is beyond disgusting. Calling my girlfriends father and telling him there's nothing that you guys could do and using the excuse that you guys are short-staffed is NOT A VALID EXCUSE.

Franklin County Animal Control to the RESCUE! Fred Murray, the FCAC staff, was kind, prompt, professional and knowledgeable in helping us remove a squirrel from our friend's home. I am grateful our county has this service.

These guys are awesome. My cat was stuck under my car and they came out and got it out. Talk about going above and beyond.
