Every time I go to this store the coupon don't work or the sale price don't ring up right. The problem is the cashier doesn't know how to fix it and doesn't bother to call a manager if there is one there because I never see one. I just live 1min away but this has happened so much I'd rather go to Food Lion that's 5mins away just to not deal with an employee that says I don't know and expects me to solve the problem . Either train them better or shut the store down.

Two girls were cussing, and locked the doors a hour before closing, had rap music playing and were disrespectful. May want to manage the employees a little better.. no one to complain but that was awful

I have to give the DG (Gamewell) 3 stars due to unreliability of store hours so often. The staff is friendly and helpful, they’ve had a few people that haven’t lasted very long that never made a good impression- but again the good staff is still there. I would give the workers 5 stars. My only issue with this location is that 3 out of 5 times the store is closed during regular store hours. Sometimes it’s been a staff shortage(undeniably staffing was hard at a certain point everywhere), other times the registers are down, et cetera.With it being the only store besides a gas station in Gamewell, it can be a little frustrating when you have to turn around on your way home and go back to town.

The employees are very nice, the store is fair but not stocked very well, esp the middle aisles. I've been to this location several times for crafting supplies; each time, many shelves/hooks were empty or had only one or two things displayed but there were stacks of stock in unopened boxes in the aisles. Selection seems minimal except for party supplies, some household goods. Even the seasonal sections were mostly bare. Perhaps the store is merely understaffed..?

Quick place to stop by and get what you need. They even have select frozen foods. No fresh produce/meat here. The store is not hard to find and you can see it from wherever you're driving. There is plenty of parking and handicap parking. It is handicap accessible and the store has automatic sliding doors so it's nice for ppl who use a walk aid so they don't have to struggle. Check out is usually always open right in front of the doors. They always have a sale on something or clearance on certain items so it's a hit and miss. Employees are polite for the most part. I've seen a few rude ones there but they are no longer there. Overall, would come back again and recommend to family or friends.

DO NOT drop anything for FedEx shipping here. I dropped it on Friday for standard overnight delivery and went back the following Wednesday to pick it up and take to another location. They said they never knew if/when FedEx would come. Then they need to notify the customers!

great area nothing else around so this store stays busy,that seem's to be why it's cluttered. cashier's do get line's that are long, they seem to be afraid to ask the manager on duty for help.they have been out of smoked oysters for a long while 3 weeks. district manager need's to pay this store special attention, alot of traffic that does not want to go to Walmart

Very convenient location, friendly staff that goes out of there way to help their customers and keep them happy. There store is always very clean and organized, always playing upbeat music and greeting you with smiles .. I won't shop at a different location this is my dollar general

This store is set up all wrong. It is tight spaced and for the cashier's, It is very unsafe. It is the most awkward at the register. Trying to check out and get out are a big pain in the behind. I think a child could have came up with a better design. Let me just add that this store is the one at the end of the 4 lane going towards Morganton, not the one near food lion.

This store is very crowded with items in the floor can't hardly find what I need empty shelves I will not be shopping here I only went because it's close to my house but I'm nor going no more goin to another dollar general where it's neat an clean from clutter.

Had a shopping cart full, when we checked out ,we was told that they had no bags , so we had to carry everything out in our arms. We was not offered any help or assistance. Your a poplar place to stop and you dont have bags,Come on . I will not be stopping at this dollar general again.

I don't usually do reviews, but I had yet another bad experience at this Dollar General Store this weekend so I just wanted to share (sorry it’s long, so bear with me)... I usually wait until they do the $5 coupon weekends to shop at DG, and combine those with store and manufacturer coupons and end up with some pretty good deals. If you pay attention, a lot of their products are more expensive than other stores, or are the same price but in smaller quantities, which is why I don't usually shop there without coupons. Anyway, as usual, when I show up at the register with my $5 coupon and other Dollar General and manufacturer coupons (most of which were printed from THEIR web-site), I start catching flack from the cashier. It's like, as soon as you hand them a stack of coupons you automatically get the "oh, you're one of THOSE people" treatment. Listen, don't give me junk for using YOUR COMPANY'S promotions because that's the ONLY reason I shop here! And, also as usual, more than one of the DG coupons that I got from their site doesn't want to work. For example, I got a 5 pack of Elmer's Glue Sticks and used a Dollar General coupon for $1 off a 5 pack of Elmer's Glue Sticks. Well, when she scanned it, the computer told her that the product I got didn't match the coupon, which it VERY clearly did. After I showed her that I had got the right thing, she begrudgingly typed in the coupon. Then of course, another one wouldn't work, which was a buy 2 get 1 free coupon for Kool-Aid and Caprisun pouches. This one didn't turn out as well. Again I showed her that I got exactly what the coupon said, but she continued to argue with me and talk down to me like I was an idiot, all while aggravated customers were stacking up behind me because there's only 1 register open (also, as usual). Finally I just told her to take those products off. Now, this is totally my fault for not studying each coupon before using them, but after I got home, the very fine print at bottom of the coupon that said “Cashier Instructions:” stated that it was only valid for certain flavors (which I did have), and that the coupon had to be scanned before any other manufacturer coupons (which didn't happen and was obviously why it was being rejected). Really? First of all, talk about nit-picking, second of all, should cashiers not be aware of these kind of requirements (or at least read the cashier instructions part before they start treating me like I’m trying to steal or something?). I honestly believe it is Dollar General’s strategy to reel people into their stores with these coupons, then make them so specific and hard to use that you end up not being able to use them and paying full price. I have also recently read that their employees are not treated well, which is obviously why 9 times out of 10 I end up with some hateful cashier who clearly does not want to be there and managers who don’t care if they treat customers like junk or not. And on top of all that, here’s the kicker that pushed me over the edge… I realized that on the last TWO trips to Dollar General, I purchased 3 bottles of Garnier Fructis Spray Gel. I stock up on this stuff when I have coupons because I love it. Anyway, after BOTH trips I came home to find that of the 3 bottles I bought (and which were clearly on my receipt) only 2 of them made it home with me. What??? The first time I just kind of blew it off and thought it was an honest mistake, and wasn’t worth going back to the store to argue over. But, the same EXACT thing happened again after my trip on Saturday. I paid for 3 and only ended up with 2 on the last two trips on the same exact product. What kind of coincidence is that? Is that how they make up for losing money on their coupons? Verrrrry strange. So, after I go to all the effort of clipping coupons and going to their store to save money, I end up getting ripped off and treated like dirt. Which is why after all this and the many preceding BAD trips to Dollar General, I will not be a customer of theirs in the future.

I do not care for the day time management, she is unprofessional uncouth and also sometimes speaking derogatory in front of customers! Usually the workers up there don't last but maybe 5 months but for some reason this lady still there!
