Our first time coming to this vet. We were able to easily get a quick appointment for a rabies vaccine for our dog. The tech was super friendly and helpful.The vet , Dr. Blevins, was extremely helpful with Information we needed. He also was so kind and gentle with our baby (dog) .When your pet gets a rabies vaccine in Ashe you are given a rabies tag for them by that facility that day. We were so happy to find this out, as other counties make you go to a second location for an additional price for this.My ONE NEGATIVE is that they aren't accepting new patients :(Only for a rabies vaccine.

My dog was having mobility issues & her back legs weren't working for her causing her to drag them. I called animal hospital of Ashe & made an appointment for the next day. When my dog & I arrived the next day,she tells me that they thought I was someone else & bc their records show I hadn't been there in 8 years, they weren't going to treat my dog today. My poor dog is dragging her back legs & can hardly walk & I'm the only person there & they refuse to see her bc I hadn't been to hem in 8 years? Who does this to a dog??? These people do, that's who. They used to be great, caring vets. No wonder I was able to get an appointment for the very next day & I was the only car in the parking lot, if this is how they treat your animals now. I called New River in Watauga County, where I live now. I had to wait a month cause THEY were booked up but she finally got to see the vet yesterday & THEY were wonderful with her. Animal Hospital of Ashe let my dog down when she needed help & I won't forget that & neither should you. DON'T GO THERE. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS.

My dog was extremely sick and they took her in, ran tests, and she is doing well now. We had been turned away from a vet in Sparta because they weren't taking new patients. Kinda cruel if you ask me. AHA took us in and were nice as they could be and I thank them for caring.

Fabulous experience staff was amazing very efficient and very nice would love to be a patient unfortunately waiting list is too long so I'll just have to stick to being an in and out for rabies and various things would love to be on a waiting list to become a patient

The staff is very compassionate with the animals and their owners. They provide excellent care and services. They always have a smile for you no matter the circumstance. They have taken care of all my kidz for 13 years and very glad I found them when I moved here.

Receptionist was nice on the phone, but they told me they haven’t been accepting new clients for the last 3 years? I find that kinda hard to believe but just a heads up incase you were moving to the area and wanted to set up an appointment like I was. They referred me to other animal hospitals which was very nice but just dissatisfied with the availability.

Never been to Animal Hospital of AsheTalked to a person that worked there one time and was told forget bringing my dog there unless I WAS AMONG THE ELITE,Let me say that again——— UNLESS I WAS AMONG THE ELITE CLIENTELE THAT WAS ALREADY REGISTERED WITH THEIR HIGH SOCIETY REQUIREMENTS…. In other words if you were BORN IN NORTH CAROLINA AND ACTUALLY WORKED FOR A LIVING, YOU need to go somewhere else for your dog’s needs.. But……. If you have FLORIDA TAGS OR ANY OUT OF STATE TAGS AND A (BIG) or (BIGGER) house than anyone else around here WITH LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY YOU’RE WELCOME TO BRING YOUR PET IN TO FACILITY..

I can't say enough good things about this office. Everyone is so sweet and so understanding. One of our girls had to have emergency surgery sure to an infection and they took such good care of her!! If you want the best care possible for your furry family, this is the place to take them!

It was fantastic, called this morning to gat an appointment, arrived 10 minutes early, called to let them know we were in the parking lot. In less than 10 minutes a very nice and courteous young lady came out got our precious little dog and took her in for a rabies shot. Less than 10 minutes she was back and we were on our way home. I can't say enough to equal how great my experience with Animal Hospital of Ashe was.I have a problem dog that had been mistreated in the past so he has fear issues. They were the best from receptionist to Dr Hampton and all staff we meet.They took care of all my German Shepherd dogs needs and gave good advice.Thanks so much I wouldn't go anywhere elseAlso very reasonable price

Helpful to my senior dog with her 3 absessed teeth. Saw her and scheduled her for surgery within a week. Had trouble at first working her in because it was only half a day but finally found her an appointment. I was so appreciative.

Very friendly receptionist, great veteranarians, knowledgeable staff and when it is time for your appointment, they take you back on time, highly recommend. Still the best and now the only one in Ashe County, unfortunately not taking on any new clients at this time.

Upon reading other reviews they have taken other NEW clients that of course aren’t locals from reading the other recent reviews, it’s all non native to Ashe and tourists who do not even reside in this county. Why weren’t they told what I was told? This angers me greatly, how is that any benefit to the locals? Anyone? I used to go here regularly but all my pets passed away so it had been 4 years since I had to use their services. I called to get my 5 year old daughters kitten an appointment and they wouldn’t take us because they aren’t taking anymore NEW clients... I’ve never heard of a vets office doing that, especially to PAST clients regardless of the time that had passed. I can’t help my other two pets passed from old age (I had gotten those two cats a year apart from one another both rescued kittens at 3-4 weeks old, one died, then a year and a half later the other cat passed away) and I hadn’t been there due to not wanting any new pets due to loss. I had always had a good experience here, so I’m quite unhappy I’m being forced to go to another vets office. So if you’re looking for a good vet in Ashe and you’re a local, don’t try there. I should have just stuck with Dr. Beckworth, he’s an excellent vet and I’ve never been turned away no matter how long it has been since I had been there. So, I assume if you had an emergency don’t call there either. This is very disheartening as this USED to be a good place to help you with your pets. I can’t imagine running a vets office and not taking on new clients in the county your business is in. Dr. Beckworth has never done that to anyone. They need to step up their game and realize there is only one other vets office in the county and instead of trying to refer me there, they tried to refer me to Wilkes, Boone, or Sparta. Why would you not recommend a vet within the county? Why would you not want to help take the work load off of the only other vets office in Ashe by helping the LOCAL residents. That’s just sad. I guess it’s changed hands from who originally ran it, because it didn’t used to be that way, and if it hasn’t changed hands that’s a shocking way to up and change a practice. I realize they own their own practice and can do what they want, but turning away past clients who were always on time and paid on the spot I can’t wrap my mind around doing that. That’s terribly sad. I had heard from others the place wasn’t as good as it used to be, but didn’t really want to believe it until this experience proved those people right. I’m still blown away by this. Even if they ever did start accepting new clients once more, I’ll never try to go here again. I truly thought when this place opened it would be an asset to Ashe, but it didn’t change a thing. I’m guessing they mainly cater to the non natives that do not live here in Ashe full time, which is of no help to us locals. I’m guessing the doctor(s) are not native to Ashe either, it doesn’t sound like it to me, that’s far from Southern hospitality.

My dogs, donkey and horses have seeing Dr. Matthew Blevins since they opened. Well not the large animals any more. He stopped treating large animals. I like him very much. He's good with my dogs and very kind to me when one of them have to cross the rainbow bridge. I would highly recommend Animal Hospital of Ashe. The Doctors and staff are very kind and helpful.

They where so caring when I had to have one of my pets put down. The vet even prayed over her. I have never had this kind of caring for any of my babies like this. They are my hometown vets. They have taken care of my 3 Pyrenees in then past. And, they are now seeing my Service Dog /Golden Retriever, Rocky. When I got a new puppy, a Siberian Husky/Border Collie mix named Bear, Dr. Blevins became his Vet and provided all of his scheduled puppy visits. Dr. Blevins is so helpful and my dogs are comfortable with him.

Dr Hampton is the best. She has helped our mini schnauzer with so many health issues. I read an article about a medicine protocol and she listened, researched the idea. We tried the protocol and Maty is finally doing soooooo much better after 4 years of dealing with her licking her paws almost nonstop. Now she rarely licks. Thank you Dr. Hampton
