All of us enjoyed our lunches. My son raced about his Buffalo Chicken Wrap because it was flavorful, and that each and every bite had all the ingredients because they were mixed together before going into the wrap. My wife enjoyed the Fried Chicken Sammie. The chicken was crispy and tender, and the addition of bacon added a layer of smokiness to the sandwich. I ordered the Wrecked Cuban Burger. The meatiness of the burger, crunchy pickle, spicy mustard sauce, thinly sliced turkey breast and smoky pulled pork in a brioche bun made this a fantastic lunch. Delicious food and friendly service. Also, the best part is that food is made to order so you know your meal will be hot and fresh when you get it.Parking: There is parking in the strip mall near the Snack Shack.

Really phenomenal food! I was surprised at how good this was, better than your average beach shack. The caesar BLT wrap was delicious but the fish tacos could have used a bit more seasoning. They are quick, we got our food in less than 10 mins. Just beware that it’s expensive, our lunch for 2 was over $30.

Truthfully, I didn't expect to enjoy my food as much as I did. I was pleasantly surprised! The menu is simple yet diverse. It's a small building with limited staff but they managed to have our food ready within 10 minutes. There is 1 window where you walk up and order food. There is no indoor dining. There are a few tables outside and a few bar stools. I would have liked umbrellas at the tables though as there's no real shade anywhere to sit and eat while you wait for the ferry. Bottomline: good food, reasonable prices.

Food was actually very good! I had the Reuben and my wife had the Chicken Caesar BLT. It was one of the better Reubens I've had in a while. Service was reasonably fast for Made-to-order food. My only complaint would be it was a bit pricey. Great place to grab a bite while waiting for the ferry!

Had a really great experience with the owners of the snack shack. We were waiting for our ferry and feeling hungry, but cutting it close to our departure time. The owner was very thoughtful about what we should order to make it in time, and the food was done sooner than we expected. Kids all said it was one of the best burgers they ever had. Coconut shrimp and ice cream sandwiches were great too!

Food was phenomenal! I went and asked for a surprise meal and got mahi tacos and French fries that were to die for. We are visiting from Pennsylvania and wanted to go back the next day and were heartbroken it’s closed Saturday and Sunday!!! Service was super quick but it was not busy around the ferry (around 12-1pm Friday). Sat and ate there but warning there is only 1 small table in front and 1 or 2 in back. Definitely would eat here again!

Thought our lunch would be mediocre since they have a captive clientele waiting for the ferry. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! Blackened shrimp tacos and grilled chicken Caesar BLT were FANTASTIC. Fast, friendly service and even the French fries were done right. Thank you for the delicious lunch!!!

Aweful. We were waiting for food, passed the window girl as we walked back from waiting 20 minutes for it to be ready and she said it was ready. Went to the window she obvious had to go to the bathroom. Guys inside just let me stand there and a few others waiting. One woman was waiting for a hotdog for 15 mins. One guy asked if someone was waiting on an order (I can see it through the window), I said yes and then nothing, still staring at the food. Waited about 10 more mins and the girl finally came back and give us our food. Food was luke warm and not very good but we were starving at this point. Spent $26 dollars on a plain burger and fries, and a special on Mac and cheese bites

I went the Snack Shack this past weekend with my family and had the best experience. The pimento cheese burger was amazing! The staff and atmosphere were top notch. I’ll definitely be back!

Excellent food! The place may be small, but don’t be fooled. It is delicious. Easy walk from the ferry line so if you have to run over to move your vehicle when the line moves up, you won’t have an issue. If you are in line for the ferry, or just visiting Hatteras, come here! I wish Pennsylvania had places like these! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

First, let me say it was nice to find a place that had their "Open" sign on that was actually open after driving down route 12 looking for a place to eat and stopping at 3 places that said they were open but were not. Second, the food was delicious and the service was great and friendly. We had the Italian sandwich, fried pickles, onion rings and shrimp wontons. Everything was so good! We will definitely stop again!

Very friendly service and delicious food! I would give them 6 stars if I could. My favorite lunch spot on the island. The chicken salad is the best I have ever eaten and every menu item is cooked to perfection. The blackened mahi-mahi tacos are another one of my favorites. 8-12 bucks per plate, which some reviewers found expensive. However, when you consider the quality of the ingredients and the excellently crafted sandwiches that are served, I feel the prices are reasonable.You can tell they take a lot of pride in the fact that thier seafood is locally sourced and fresh. We were told that all the shrimp options were sold out because the boats would not have fresh shrimp until Friday.The owners are very nice to talk to and gave us recommendations on where else to eat while on vacation. I would highly recommend giving them a try for breakfast or lunch if you're staying on Hatteras Island.

While we waited for the ferry we decided to get some food from the snack shack. The service was great! We got the chicken chunks and the blackened shrimp tacos. For the amount of food we got it was a little pricey.

My philly cheese steak was exactly how I ordered it. Mary and I also love the chicken salad sandwich. But my personal favorite is the tuna poke. Mrs Kim only serves fresh locally caught tuna. It has seaweed salad on the bottom an perfectly fried chips to go with it. I live in hatteras village an that is my favorite lunch spot!!!!!

A huge and very tasty crabcake sandwich - one of the best crabcakes he's had in a long time, my husband says, and he orders them frequently, whenever they're on the menu. While the menu here isn't extensive - it's a small food stand at the ferry docks, it offers interesting choices.Nothing for the gluten free but a conventional ham and turkey chef salad, but the wonderful woman who runs the stand cheerfully substituted a scoop of chicken salad for the ham and turkey. (She uses Kikkoman soy sauce - made with more wheat than soy - in the tuna poke salad.).Nice place to eat in a convenient location.

I was absolutely looking forward to getting a delicious sandwich on gluten-free bread, as I knew the owner ran Frisco Sandwich a couple years ago and they had the best gluten free sandwiches on the beach (Hatterican, Italian Stallion).... to my disappointment there are no gluten-free options offered at Snack Shack. A pack of gluten-free sub rolls is far better to have in stock than the loss of the 8 people in my party that didn't dine here. What really justified the 1-Star was the attitude i received when i asked if there were any other gluten-free options on the menu and i received the eye roll followed by the mundane "No".

Snack Shack is one of my favorite lunch spots on Hatteras! Mrs Kim always does a great job. The food and the service is incredible. Tuna poke is my personal favorite along with the chicken salad sandwich and mahi fish tacos.

Honestly, the best fried pickles and onion rings I've ever had. Their sanitation rating is 99% too, so if you're not expecting much from a tiny shack, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Do Not Eat Here. Rude, Unprofessional customer service. Stole $53 when asked to refund $$ before getting meal she stated “you already paid, no refunds , that’s just how it is”.Other party who got their food before us said their food was greasy and tasted stale. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Thought an hour would be plenty of time to order eat then get back to work... nope. Was here for over an hour waiting on food. Was extremely late back to work. Dont recommend unless you have all day to wait.

The Snack Shack was a most pleasant surprise! Had a great burger and hubbie a great roast beef sammie. Onion rings were delicious! We will make this a new yearly tradition on way to Ocracoke!

The food is good especially the French fries they are especially delicious but this place is pretty expensive and they really don't have much. The people who owned this place before had a much better menu. Also the drink options are very limited.

The food here was expensive and ho hum. Apparently it is owned by the same people that own the Frisco Sandwich Shop. Hopefully the Frisco Sandwich Shop will reopen soon. We stumbled across it one afternoon and it has become a highlight of our OBX vacation every year. So disappointing that it is closed.
