Well-stocked gift store full of fun surprises, even for kids. Check out all of the beautiful books here as well as some really pretty clothes.

Took a trip to Asheville and took a recommendation from Pinterest. The Wrinkled Egg in Flat Rock made for a nice leisurely lunch and a little shopping. The eatery/ bakery is quite small but packs a wallop. Found in the back of The Wrinkled Egg boutique you’ll mosey up to the counter and place your order. Browse the baked good and check out the days special. After ordering find your way out to the outdoor only seating area and enjoy the fresh mountain air while sipping your favorite beverage. The tuna salad was delicious and the pickled onions on it just made it pop. The avocado BLT wasamazing. Two thumbs up on the oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies!Enjoy shopping the storefront boutique.

Pricey clothing mostly fills the gift shop now, and very ordinary looking garb at that. I won't be shopping there anymore. The unique gifts they used to carry aren't in abundance there anymore. Too bad, in my opinion.

My wife and in-laws and I visited the store before our show at the Playhouse. My wife bought two shirts, a couple of cards and two note pads. When the clerk rang it up and the total was clearly incorrect (by over $100), I questioned the total and was met with a less than friendly response. He adjusted the total to a more reasonable amount, which I paid. I asked for a receipt which showed that he charged $12.95 for two $4.50 cards. I again had to get him to adjust the charge to the correct amount.I’m not trying to be conspiratorial here, but the whole experience had a feeling of purposeful overcharging. Be sure to request and check your receipts!!

On a recommendation we tried their pizza and salads. The pizza was excellent, maybe a touch oily, from the pepperoni. But excellent flavor and was hot when delivered. We had two different salads, both excellent and fed two people. They also have a great selection of treats for desserts.

A delight! A veritable cornucopia of toys, clothing, gifts and all sorts.Whoever runs this shop has a good eye for interesting and stylish things but excels themselves with the large toy section including a lovely large birdcage with small birds in it and very cute lop-eared rabbit which the children can pet.Lovely women's bags and other items too, indeed, there's plenty to pause and look at, even for a bloke like me.There also a bakery inside the store but I've reviewed that separately as it seems to be s separate business.Well worth a visit!!!!

Your children will love this place. Live finches in a huge cage are fascinating plus two lop-eared rabbits.. also inside. Nice selection of unique toys and art supplies and some clothes. Other rooms include clothes for adults and nic-nacs with horse and mountain themes. Some great artwork also.

Its been a while since we visited but we loved all of the local art. This time we found it had been reduced to just another "gifty" tourist trap full of mass market "Hobby Lobby" style junk. If that's what you like, this is the perfect place for you.

Cute southern store with great unique kid selections. Fun cards and books. Was not greeted or even acknowledged for the 35 min I was there. I’m glad I didn’t by a few of the cute tops I saw. Was in for the weekend and went to Asheville later that day and same manufacturer was 1/2 the price at the boutiques downtown.

What a disappointment. Cute place amongst some cute shops. Biggest part of the problem is the layout. I'm guessing the owner has never stood in line and/or observed the turmoil. The baked goods are displayed adjacent to the cash registers. The line forms in front of the baked goods so you don't know if someone is waiting to order or selecting items. The cashiers are screaming to the customers and the person pulling the bakery items, who is screaming back. The customers are screeching their orders to the cashiers - you can also order kitchen items from the menu board. The lowest shelf in the bakery display is below knee level, difficult to read while people in the line are shoving from behind. And, that is the other part of the problem. Some, not all, of the regulars from the area have no manners. Before ordering, they are screaming, not talking, to one another. After ordering, some move to the tables and some stand near the cashier, others back in front of the bakery display. Rearranging the coffee area, the bakery display and the cashiers, as well as blocking access after payment would create a pleasant experience rather than this day at the zoo. It may also improve the bottom line as we were considering ordering some take out items but I had enough of the circus atmosphere. All that aside, The food was good and the employees very friendly. Their stress levels must be sky high at the end of the day. I would not return there.

I LOVE shopping at The Wrinkled Egg! Even if I don't need to buy anything, sometimes I just walk through because it's a renewing experience. Virginia has gorgeous scarves and clothes, funky, fun toys, and unusual home decor and gift items. There is an uplifting, rejuvenating energy. Everyone who works there has always been very helpful to me. The big birdcage full of finches and the rabbit don't just engage my grandchildren – they delight me, too. It's a great place to shop, or, just to wander.

Dined there this afternoon, 7/13/2020. Food was very good. However, we did not observe any tables/chairs being cleaned between seatings and there was trash under our table. Lesson learned here is to be vigilant when choosing a restaurant; need to observe for myself that state protocols are being followed.

Oh what fun! Starting with the BIRDS - many enchanting birds in their charming and roomy cage! The shopping was lovely - fun and attractive gifts, toys, and clothing. Also had a delightful lunch on the back deck.

I always visit this store when in town and have always had a pleasant experience. However, we stopped by Saturday in hopes of finding some nice things to purchase and weren't even given a "hello" when walking through the entire store! Two employees and no one recognized the four of us!! Needless to say we won't be back!

Pretty much the old white general store promised in Historic Flat Rock, my family and I stopped in for a bit after dropping our daughter off at a local camp. A bit touristy, but the place had an interesting local flavor with original folk art, fun gifts and games, antique treasures, fashion accessories and more. The Wrinkled Egg is best known for camp "care packages" offering an assortment to choose from.Trivia note on the unusual name, The Wrinkled Egg was named for an old red hen that used to roam the owners back yard. Decent service and pleasant staff. Clean store. Parking is hard to find as the store is busy and does share a common lot with other attached businesses./s/ William E.
