We wanted to say thank you to the Cumberland County Animal Shelter and especially Jennifer Hibble. They have been extremely helpful with us finding homes for some stray cats in our neighborhood. They really seem like they care about the animals and try to do their best to give them a chance to have a good home and life. We have experienced shelters in other states that were very callous and would quickly euthanize animals, so we had to find homes for the strays ourself.Back in November, we found a mother and her two kittens. Jennifer Hibble was very helpful in facilitating us bringing them in. They all received great homes. The kittens were adopted as a pair. She also connected us with the kittens new family after they were adopted so we could see videos/photos of them. Just recently, Jennifer also helped us bring in another stray cat. Hopefully he will also find a great new home. It was really wonderful to work with Jennifer. She was very responsive, always got back to us promptly and was warm and caring every time we spoke. We really appreciate Jennifer and all of the wonderful staff at the Cumberland County Animal Shelter.

We just adopted this wonderful puppy. He's doing great and is fitting right in here our other pup adores him and we do too. Everyone at Cumberland AC was really helpful, they really get to know the animals during their time at the shelter. The adoption fee includes a lot of services, 1st vaccines, worm meds, hw test, preventative and neuter had already been completed for our boy before we adopted him. They even called after we were home to check on his pain meds which was really nice.

I went here for the free adoption event and ended up snagging the BEST cat. His previous owners wrote that he refused to use a little box, but that was so easy to fix. These animals have so much love to give if they are just given the time and opportunity.

If I could give them no stars I wouldn't because I called them at 8:40am to pick up a stray at my house. Waited all day then I finally called back at 3pm to see what the problem was. The person who answered the phone was first off rude as hell she kept cutting me off every time I said something. Then they lied talking about they came to my house at 10:30am. Stop it first off I'm home all day, the dog was outside on my front porch so if I wasn't home you still could have gotten him, I was outside with the dog at that time, and last what happened to the phone call I was suppose to receive when you were on your way. Stop lying and come pick up this dog! Do your job people!

The staff was extremely helpful when my 2 dogs went missing. I called after hours and left a message, and they returned my call first thing in the AM. When I went in, they allowed me to conduct a walk through to check for my dogs and helped me file a report. My dogs are home safe and sound now. Thanks

I was helping to settle an estate. During this process, I found 4 different litters of kittens. They ranged in ages 2 weeks to 4 weeks. Even though, each kitten would have to be bottle fed, they generously excepted the challenge and the kittens. Thank You CCAS for going above and beyond !! You save, care for and adopt out so many deserving fur babies😻

We recently adopted a pitbull mix and they were great! We had to wait a little but once they took us back they were very helpful and considerate about what kind of dog we were looking for. It breaks my heart to see so many dogs in need of homes and not being able to help them all but we rescued jazz and renamed her Mia. They only charged us $100 and we got to take her home the same day and immediately scheduled a spaying appointment for her. Love her so much!

Make sure you ask for paperwork before you adopt a dog. Lady at the front desk handed me paperwork after I already paid. Dog attacked my cat and the dog ended up not being a good fit for me and the wife because of that fact. Had a bad feeling as soon as I saw “not good with cats” after I already brought up the fact that I have two cats at home, signed and processed stuff. I’m not upset about the money because it’s going to the animals but the people are a bit scummy here. They need to do their due diligence by being clear about the animals. You set the dog and us up for failure.To add, their customer service is awful. Chances of them picking up the phone or calling back is close to zero. If anyone wanting to adopt reads this review don’t take away the fact that there are good animals in there just ask for paperwork beforehand.

We adopted slick! The whole adoption process was very smooth. We were in and out in less than an hour. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals they had.

OMG!!!!! THEY ARE AWESOME!!!! I went there during there free adoption month in August. Wasn't even anning on going home with a kitten, but Bruce was such a a loving kitten when I played with him. I didn't bring my ID, but asked the ladies if they could hold him til I got him the next day. I think her name was Donna, she told me they don't normally do it, but she will for me. IM SO GLAD SHE DID!!!! He is such an awesome addition to my family!!! Hes such a big cuddle buddy. The staff was so awesome. They wouldn't let him leave until he had the proper shots and all the paperwork was together. They even set an appointment for me to get him neutered, no charge to me. They have an amazing staff there.

I am a maintenance tech for a mobile home park. Been dealing with 3 stray dogs and can’t get a single person on the phone. These dogs have been chasing kids and the whole 9 yards and attacking peoples cats and dogs. We have people scared for their lives in this park and Cumberland county won’t pick up. It’s sad.

Omgoodness, how do I start? We had such a great experience with Cumberland county animal services. We adopted our forever friend ROSIE 🌹!!! She is a great addition to our home and it has been such a pleasure having a new friend. Cumberland county animal shelter and staff thanks so much for everything, the process for adopting our puppy went very smoothly the staff was very patient and caring thanks for all you do! Once more thanks for our ROSIE 🐶 🌹. **Update unfortunately we had to give Rosie back to the shelter my daughter has a pet allergy. If anyone adopts this dog her name is Rosie she’s a beautiful soul you’ll absolutely love her. Never met a dog as sweet as her. Such a sad day for us all.

I adopted my dog from here and she is amazing! I know how understaffed they are so instead of calling I hopped in my car and drove from Raleigh to see which dog I bonded with. The adoption fee is SO cheap compared to how much it would cost me to get her vetted on my own. I will remind that it is a county shelter so they are legally required to accept every animal surrendered, but that means a lot get put down when at capacity. Shelter staff is super nice and I cannot imagine what it would be like to work doing this. They definitely do all they can to save them. Please get your pets fixed and only adopt if you can keep them furever! I hope one day people won't be irresponsible with pet ownership so the staff and volunteers don't have to say goodbye to sweet and healthy pets :(

It's kind of sad going there because it seems a bit like prison, but for dogs. The staff were pleasant enough, the place was clean that we were in. We dropped off a friendly male pit bull who had gotten lost. Hopefully his family found him!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband and I have called numerous times concerning our neighbors dog that is always loose and terrorizing us. I've been chased twice by this dog and they do nothing. Today I called them because I was chased by the dog. They said they would send someone out so I was watching my Ring camera and I saw them drive by but didn't stop!! I feel so failed by them. I feel like they would finally take action only after someone gets hurt.

I love how caring the staff is about all the animals. I've adopted 2 beautiful dogs from there, and I couldn't be more pleased with the process. I love interacting with the animals, so sometimes I go just to love on them. They have plenty of volunteer opportunities as well. I just wish we could live in a world where we never had to euthanize an animal. This is not a "no kill" shelter, so that's the only reason I took a star away. But overall, if you are looking for a pet, this shelter definitely has a variety of sweet babies just wanting love.

**UPDATE1/29/24**THE PUPS IS STILL OUTSIDE WITH NO WATER NO FOOD ITS 44 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND NOT ONCE HAS CUMBERLAND ANIMAL CONTROL CAME OUT!!!So it’s sad when people have reported animal neglect to this so called company and they don’t go and actually save the poor animal! It’s going to be 30 degrees plus rain outside tonight and these animals are being forced to sleep outside with nothing keeping it warm nor water or food anywhere around. This sorry excuse of a company was called and the poor pups are STILL outside. What good are y’all? You want people to report negligent behavior but you don’t act on it. So animals have NO FEELINGS EITHER RIGHT! Y’all are a sorry excuse for a service funded by the government.

my cat was chased up a tree by these three dogs that are over here in this area and now they chased them again up another tree and he was up the first time 35 feet high and he’s about the same now and it’s raining and the animal control doesn’t do anything. They said they were gonna come and get the dog out of the dogs out the area but they have not, I mean what why are you there you don’t do anything except pick up kittens and dogs for somebody else to take care of. That’s not the total job of what animal control is supposed to be doing there is no decision of we can’t come help get these dogs up out of this area .

I adopted a year old cat a few months ago, a surrendered cat I did get him when they waived fees he’s a character he used to be aggressive and bite but he’s slowly grew out of that had a pleasant experience . I went today to help donate some extra cat carriers my mom had. They had some beautiful kittens along with other cats and dogs.

I volunteer here and I love it. I also adopted a kitten through their program at petsmart and a puppy a week ago..they do waive fees once in awhile which is a great feeling to see so many animals get adopted from the shelter to good loving homes.

Extremely disappointed in this place. I don't want my rating to make people give up on saving these poor animals trapped here. I tried saving Stephano, but they were closed the day they put him down. I tried calling to discuss this with them, but nobody answered the phone and it would not allow me to leave a voicemail. This place seems like they want to kill animals and needs to be shut down.

I would certainly give this service company a zero for quality service. No matter how many times we call with stray dogs or cats nothing never changes. I’m tired from lack of sleep from the stray dogs that destroy my personal property and deprive me of sleep. I pay my county taxes and it seems like I should get support concerning this matter but I’m not so fortunate. I am going to try every option possible to be heard and assisted with this matter. It would be interesting to know if this would make a great news story for county agencies not taking care of their constituents. The adoption program could benefit from them picking up these stray dogs and cats in our neighborhood. It’s really strange when constituents are asked to catch the animals and they would come pick them up. I didn’t realize that that was my job to defend my sanity and protect my property. Worst department ever… at least that’s what I see because they do not assist with animal neglect and abuse in my neighborhood. One home has at least 5 large dogs inside and are left for days on end with no supervision… barking and stressed. Please take notice and help with our neighborhood needs and I then could and would give this department accolades!!

Went in on December 20th to check out the pups and we came out with a new edition to our family(just in time to celebrate Christmas with us). Thank you to whoever gave up this sweet girl. She has a sweet disposition, good energy, and she's a super cuddle bug. Also, the employees were great and helpful. Thank you all soo much.

The way the people of Fayetteville just discard their animals disgusts me to no end. The lack of empathy this shelter has is horrifying. Putting down 3 dogs per week, if you bring your pet here or probably won't make it out.

I'm not sure anyone actually works here. I have been calling for WEEKS regarding 2 stray dogs in our neighborhood that I have on camera in my backyard tearing up the yard and killing 8 of my chickens. I have left countless voicemails with no response. Absolutely absurd service.
