Today I visited to assess and pull some dogs for Freedom German Shepherd Rescue and had a wonderful experience! Unfortunately I cannot remember the staff member's name but I know she is the resident German shepherd lover! I could tell she truly cared about the animals and knew everything about them! She also took time out of her busy day to help me do assessments for the rescue. I would highly recommend visiting when you are ready for a new best friend!

This is obviously a kill shelter and you can tell the staff does everything they can to try and adopt pups out before it happens! They kept our sweet girl for months even though she had a bite record- now she's an absolute princess who wouldn't hurt a fly. We've had her about a year and a half now and she went from a dog with no name (literally called Dog One) to Bami who lives at the beach, sleeps in the bed, and is an absolute diva.

Great experience with this shelter! My wife and I were looking to get a young cat as a buffer between our other two. After searching around we settled on a kitten at this shelter, fortunately they had already been adopted and we found another, the cutest little black kitten, named Bright, or Brighty as I've been calling her. She is the perfect addition. We adopted her Dec 13, 2021.No problems contacting the shelter, I was able to quickly set up a meet and greet with Bright. When I walked into the shelter I was greeted by Stubby, the resident shelter cat who kept me well occupied until I was greeted by Ms Karen. She was very kind, helpful, and explained a number of things about the shelter and about Bright. She ensured I understood about the adoption, shots, spaying, ... And chipping, which they do there and did not want to stay under Bright's skin. Ms Karen and a co-worker showed a great deal of patience and caring when it came to getting this right, not wanting to cause unnecessary pain. A caring attitude goes a long way and we can see with how Bright is now (been with us a month and 5 days) she was well taken care of at this shelter! I would adopt from them again!-Random Knowledge: Kittens have the...THE... WORST FARTS, consider yourself warned, I had no idea! 😆-DON'T buy, ADOPT!

This is a kill shelter. Stop being irresponsible pet owners and dropping your dog off here. You people are SICK !

Officer McKay was here in less than 10 minutes, came out and help catch the cat that was injured and is rushing him to the vet as we speak. He was very cordial and very helpful. He did a very nice job.

The low star reviews for this shelter are unfair and un-informed. They do not promote themselves as a no-kill shelter, but they do bendover backwards to try and get every dog out that they can.Animal control officers are doing a job and it is a hard job. But Karen knocks it out of the park leading the charge to do as much for the animals of this county!

They wanna run this place off voicemails and walk-ins alone. Because they choose not to answer the phone and when asked about it all they can say is “we answer voicemails back” absolutely unprofessional. They should set up their phone to go straight to voicemail if that’s the case. Just ring ring ring all day long I know they have to be annoyed by it unless they mute it and go on about their day. Which wouldn’t surprise me

They are a county shelter. As far as I know county shelters are kill shelters everywhere. The lady working here lost funding from the county for not killing animals in a preset time . Don't complain , help her!

They don't answer the phone at all. No email or anything. If you try to contact them for the adoption of an animal, I wish you luck! Trust me you'll need it. I did call during open hours. I also got in touch with a volunteer that was happy to help and redirect me but in the end the facility itself didn't answer at all.

I was looking up no-kill animal shelters for a friend and this place popped up. They are NOT a no-kill they are a high kill shelter, unless they have changed their status in the past month or two. Just so you know.
