Wonderful hidden gem up in the hills of Stokes County. Had a great trip up there and loved the general store!! Absolutely try some blackberry preserves and baked goods if you go. Delicious! Will be back soon for some live bluegrass!

Never have visited this place other than online, i still give it 5 stars because this is EXACTLY what this country needs more of! The fact that we don't have more places and mindsets like this place and the family that owns it, is part of why this country is circling the drain.

Must see landmark near Hanging Rock! Local cheeses, meats, jellies, etc. You name it and its there. Representing a bygone era.Beautiful, WORTH THE DRIVE!

Outstanding and one of the original General Stores in North Carolina. They stock just about everything. The family that owns and operates the store, are always professional and extremely helpful. Awesome people.

Total historical charm. Wonderful proprietor, very outgoing and welcoming. Enjoyed shopping and purchasing several quality local-made crafts for gifts as well as local cheeses. And I must compliment..... the best bologna sandwich ever!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my Southern lunch ... bologna on white, chips and a Pepsi .... overlooking the Dan River.

Jane is a wonderful store owner we enjoyed our visit such much that we can’t wait to return the amount of products was astounding if you want to go back to the early 1900’s this is the place to visit!!! So much to choose from to boots, antiques, to jelly’s and hand cut bologna sandwiches totally unmatched!!!

I rode 3 hours to see this old general store. Wasn't disappointed. And the bologna sandwich was an added bonus to the nostalgic feel.

I’m not sure but some reason I like this shop because of the way it shows the history and owner is really friendly.Gives a childhood memory and a vision for past. I think we should support this business so that it remain open and show us what it was some time ago.Jane we love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Stopped here today and met with Jane, the third generation proprietor. She was extremely personable and we chatted for a few minutes while I purchased drinks and snacks.The store itself has been in business since 1888 and the Priddy family has owned it since the Great Depression.The inside is like stepping into the past and has shelves loaded with antiques and local goods. Definitely worth a trip, especially if you're spending the day near Hanging Rock and are craving a drink, delicious snacks, and excellent, friendly service.

We visited the quaint country store on Saturday 10/12/13 and were captivated by all the unusual items, country preserves and beautiful surroundings. We were unable to come back for the 3:00 bluegrass show but I am sure it was nice. We got some really great pictures, some preserves (pear and apple) and some sweets for the kids. Check it out when you are in this neck of the woods!!

A neighbor of mine was accused of stealing. However, she and her sister were not stealing. What happened is they were profiled because of the color of their skin. After reading all of the complaints from the neighborhood app, this is not the first time this has happened to other people of color there! Do not shop here if you are a person of color!
