We rented a house with a pool and hot tub within walking distance of the beach. We had a great time in a great location. The resort is really close to the beach and the large resort pool is right off the beach. It is great to spend time at the beach and cool off at the pool. The resort restaurant prices are high but that is expected in vacation town. The historic whalehead mansion is a must for history lovers. I only have two complaints. 1) some of the old ladies that work at the resort and other historical places take their job very seriously and can come off as rude. 2) The bug splatters are everywhere. It seems the deck and siding of houses need to be power washed. It must be regional thing. It was a great experience overall and would recommend to others.

Awesome family vacation, ocean side pool, bar and restaurant, basketball courts, shuffle board, volleyball and more. They have beach side food service, beach umbrellas and chair service as well. You can also rent kayaks and paddle boards here too. Awesome place!!

I arrived to the resort with 5 teenagers and a 10 year old, the teens were immediately disappointed that the pools closed at 6pm. My 10 year old was very excited about the car race he spent a lot of time decorating it ( we had to get better paint though) and when we arrived it was mass chaos. No organization at all! We do a potato car race at our church so our expectations were high. We were very disappointed that the trolley did not stop at a beach access other than the oceanfront pools. My teenagers wanted lunch at the oceanfront grill they arrived at 3 pm and found a seat. After waiting 15 minutes they found a waitress for help. Her comment was “that’s not my section” after waiting 30 minutes. Their waitress arrives and tells them the kitchen was closed. They at least were able to get a couple nonalcoholic drinks at the bar. The surf class was amazing and the instructor was very nice! My teenagers were bored every evening with the pools closed. They did drive for ice cream( closed at 9pm) and Adventure Golf. We probably won’t return to this resort. The teenagers need a little more excitement and I personally would have enjoyed an evening dip in the pool!

Corolla Light Resort has been my family's preferred vacation destination for 25 years. The ocean side pool/bar, community trolley and shoppes have always been great. Northern Lights bakery has great donuts a short trolley hop away and Corolla Pizza further down by the 4wd beach access has the best pizza on the Outer Banks.The beaches are clean, the resort staff are friendly, knowledge and helpful. We will certainly be returning again and again in the future!

We’ve been going to Corolla Light every summer for decades, and I’ve not been able to find another beach area like it. There’s the beach, a small town feel, many resort activities (during season) like bingo and sports contests, a gym, outdoor pools, an indoor pool, outdoor and indoor tennis courts, pickleball courts, and more. A lot of the houses for rent are on the older side, though some have started to be renovated.

The resort is very well maintained and pretty. The staff was very helpful. My 9 year old loved the trolley and several of the kids activities. We appreciated that you didn't have to go far for restaurants or activities. The only downside was the limited hours for the pools and sports center.

We have been coming to Corolla Light as a family since before I was born. I’m 25 now, & enjoy coming here just as much as I did as a kid!! We used to come every 4th of July and Thanksgiving, but unfortunately we’re only able to come in the fall now. Regardless, this is still my favorite place on earth. Our family is located in different states now, so we love coming here to be together!! We love kayaking & crabbing in the sound; and walking over to the lighthouse & whalehead club! The pool deck & ocean walk is perfect in the summer and fall!! We always enjoy all of the activities like bingo, and Bob the activities director is the absolute BEST!! We love seeing him every year, & love seeing his family grow! Katherine is a new addition to the sports center, and we have loved seeing her smiling face this year!! Thank you all for making this such an incredible place to stay!!

Have owned a home here since the 80s. It's my happy place. Management is competent, owners are nice, visitors are mostly respectful.Do not come here thinking you are going to party hearty. It's a quiet family community and we will keep it that way.

Corolla itself offers a quaint, family-oriented vibe that is somewhat quieter than the southern towns in the outer banks. The resort itself is fun with a lot to do during the main season, although in recent years they've started charging for a lot of activities that used to be free. The capital aspect killed the vibe a little bit so our family now visits on the off season to keep costs down. Most of the houses we've stayed at are great.

Beautifully maintained resort. Wonderful amenities: pools, tennis and pickle ball courts, sport center with cardio and weight rooms, indoor pool and tennis court, hot tub. Restaurant, basketball courts, children’s play equipment—everything for a great vacation.Resort is next to Historic Corolla Town Center, library, Whalehead Club, Maritime Museum, Corolla Lighthouse, Wildlife Center.

We stayed nearby at Beacon Villas and we loved having the trolley to take to the pool and beach, saving us from driving and parking. The kids loved the pools, and we used the indoor pool when it was raining. We used their wild horse tour, and it was much cheaper than other businesses and was still a great time. We would love to stay on the property again!

I cannot thank him enough for what he did for us, He was an absolute blessing. We will be back year after year because of the staff like him.

No toys allowed in the resort pool, they want you to wear wristbands just to walk around, but the houses don't come with enough. Our house slept 16, but we were only given 12 bands, extras are ridiculously priced. Poolside grill allows no outside food or drink. It utilizes lots of plastic and Styrofoam - so disappointing. Drinks are WAY overpriced.

Location location location. The rooms were fine. The pool was fine. There was a plethora of dinner near by. But the price was stupid. Like stupid. We stayed there so we could get over the bridge to the OBX early on the weekend before traffic. It worked. But the price. Omg.

Corolla Light is a great beach community. It is very family friendly and has all the amenities you would want. It is quiet and great for riding bikes. You can bike to the lighthouse, Whale Head Club campus, shops and restaurants.

We've stayed in several beach houses over the years. Corolla Light Resort offers lots of amenities that compliment the experience and there are many great beach houses to choose from. We've been there twice and will definitely go back again!

Great resort with lots to do and places to get food! The clubhouse is amazing and has so.many activities for all ages! The beach is a plus too. I've been coming for years and definitely recommend it!

This beutiful resort is the perfect place to stay when in the Outer Banks. Each beach home is unique and different and there are options for every budget. Freindly service and accomodations include a free trolley service to the beach and clubhouse. Multiple heated swimming pools and a smaller sized pool for younger children. Beutiful private beaches with occasional sand castle building contests and more. Waiters will take your order and deliver it right to your beach side umbrella. Neighborhood is queit with security features at the gate, and shops nearby. You'll also find many activities like go-carting and beach horse watching nearby.
