Our Stay in Into The Sun!OBX Family VacationThis was our first time to the outer banks. The Outer Banks is beautiful. The town of Corolla is very laid back. The location of the house was perfect as it was not far from the 4x4 beach access and the Spanish Mustang wild horses. The house was perfect size for our family of 10. The place was very clean Kudos to the cleaning people. The reservation process was flawless as we received a lot of information and reminders along the way prior to and during our vacation. The place is a little dated. It could use new living room furniture, new decking wear shoes as splitters and nails are sticking out, the back yard could be manicured so it could be used for games such as corn hole for the kids, and the screen porch was missing screen to the door. All in all we had a great time. Thanks

Best House ever!!We couldnt have asked for a better house. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could want, but we did bring along our air fryer. The house was very clean bedrooms were nice and we fell in love with the pool! It was a little bit more distance from the beach then what we thought but the house and pool made up for that.

We stayed at the Mayflower in Corolla. This house has probably not been cleaned in months. We had to empty the dishwasher when we got there. The toilets were absolutely disgusting. The fans over the beds had a thick black dust on them. Under the beds had about an inch of dust and other things under them. The door knobs were broken. The kitchen faucet was broken. Light bulbs were out all over the house making it difficult to see at night. We ordered linens but the beds were not made and missing two days to bring the blankets and the extra towels we had ordered. They advertise a stocked fishing lake their were no fish. The TV’s did not work because the WiFi would not connect. It was all so disappointing.

We stayed at the Diane Marie. I wish I could give zero stars. The only good thing was location to the beach. This house was a DUMP! Apparently the pictures in the listing were taken over 10 years ago. The housekeepers clearly did not clean anything. It was filthy, run down and a lot of things didn’t work. If we didn’t just drive 10 hours with our 2 yr old daughter and dog I would have left that house immediately. After repeated attempts to contact realty company about my dissatisfaction I decided to contact Vrbo because we booked through them. They were absolutely no help either. Nobody cares that they took our money for a dump that should have been half the price of what we paid.

We just rented through Beach Realty for the third time unfortunately as other reviews have said the houses have all had some sort of a issue from dirt and bugs to broken appliances and leaking plumbing but when ever I call they have taken care of the issue not right away but within 24 hours. I do think they need to better inspect the houses they represent the one we have stayed in the past two years the beach equipment is broken are just trash, the walkway to the beach is so worn out we don’t let the young kids go on it by there self’s do to loose boards splinter’s and nails sticking up ( Fancy Free ). When we walked in the front door last Sunday 8/14/22 the glass top coffee table was smashed how was this missed if the house was inspected luckily we had early check in and called right away took pictures and they had someone there in 30 min who was very professional and removed the broken glass and vacuumed the area. We also noticed a few bugs and had a exterminator at are door the next day now I don’t know a water bug from a roach but he said water bugs. Then the drain on the kitchen sink broke water all over the floor now on this I had to call three times before Beach Realty sent there plumber. Apparently the home owners do use there own contractors but when they didn’t respond Beach took care of it. We had a problem at another house with the cleaners, home owners contractor that Beach sent there people to fix. But location location location we have already rented the same house for next year it’s worth the issues and thanks Beach Realty for taking care of them but get better home inspectors and maybe the owners should walk the property’s ( Fancy Free)

We/(My sister and I) wrote a very fair and honest of review of Aqua Dreams @ 9818 E Surfside, it was posted, then they deleted the review today. Since Google doesn't delete reviews, here is the review that was posted in entirety. Sad that they are resorting to this behavior to mask the condition of the rental properties. Others here have mentioned the same. Ironic enough, the house was listed for sale and we found that out when we arrived.**Location of property is perfect & layout of house is great, but time has taken it's toll on this property, and lack of attn to detail, maintenance & cleaning left us very disappointed. Floors, walls are all significantly warped, and most of windows are all failed. Screens falling off, slider screen to top deck has large hole that someone attempted to patch with basic tape. Deck wood is rotting, uneven, and loose, if someone bumped into it too hard, I fear they would break through. Husband borrowed hammer from local construction crew to fix many exposed nails, so that our children didn’t injure themselves in bare feet. Beach chairs that were listed as amenities were stained, rusted, and umbrella was broken, so we purchased new for ourselves. There were 9 bars of gross soap leftover from prior guests in outdoor shower. Many of smoke detectors missing or in odd locations (underneath kitchen island shelf, 1 on shelf in entertainment unit??) which can’t be up to code. Overall, house was only ‘top level clean’ and within an hour of arriving, our kids’ feet were BLACK – so we purchased mop & cleaner and did it ourselves. The top of wood butcher block has been cleaned with the wrong cleaners over the years, rendering the wood unusable and tacky to the touch like flypaper, so we also purchased a plastic tablecloth to cover & make the island usable. Kitchen pans were pitted & Teflon was flaking off (toxic); left note with pans recommending they be tossed. The FR room couches are worn, stained and uncomfortable and need to be replaced. If you are inside when someone walked outside on deck you could feel/see the entire house sway, leaving us very concerned about stability of base/stilts on which house rests. Lastly, the overgrowth has taken over and it just looks unkempt – around house, dunes, and on car path leading from culdesac to house. Our SUV was constantly being scratched up by bushes on path. This was our first trip to OBX, and we LOVED the area, but wouldn’t return to this house unless there were some major repairs and renovations.****** Edit - In response to your response, I'm unsure how you would have replaced couches, the walls......, secured the house from swaying in the wind, etc during our stay. Could we have reported that the floors were filthy, sure. But at that point, it was easier for us to handle and make the best of it. The house needs more than a coat of paint, and judging by the fact that it's currently for sale speaks volumes.That and the fact that you delete reviews from your properties... which is precisely why we've landed here on Google instead.

Coast is Clear-- is not clear. It is the filthiest house I have ever rented. On the first night we found ants all over & roaches. When we complained they wanted to "fumigate" the house. We said NO because they were not willing to provide us a safer and cleaner home to live in. We had to buy ant and roach traps to contain the issues. The floors were DISGUSTING; every surface could be wiped with a wet cloth and come up dirty. The counters/kitchen/furniture were awful. The beds were unbearable and uncomfortable. And the WORST (IMO) is the Coast is Clear provides this (pictured) to "clean off" after the beach. Who would ever want to go into this to shower and clean their feet? I ended up going to WalMart to buy a painters bucket and left it at the front door. But who honestly wants to rent a house where you : feel disgusted, everything is worn down, non of the appliances work nicely, everything feels dirty, and you get terrible sleep because your beds literally feel like you are sleeping on the box spring and not an actual mattress. They restrict who can review on their website so writing this here. This property management company should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this (at the premium rate as other BETTER homes are being rented for). Extremely misleading and disgusting.

What a great experience working with this team of dedicated people. I could not have asked for a smoother vacation! I have watched this home for no less than 15 years. This company was in the rental game before the other companies. I loved all the communication from the team, loved the home, and OBX!! Can’t wait to rent with them again next year! Thank you to all the staff!! See you next year!

This house was a nice short walk to the beach. Very quaint and we felt like we were at home. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. Really liked the view out of the kitchen windows, you could see the ocean while you're cooking dinner. And I really enjoyed laying the hammock early in the mornings.

We just spent at week at Seaside Dunes in OBX. 5 star view, 4 star home and 2 star service by Beach Realty. Numerous text messages and emails from BR but IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone with maintenance concerns ( several burned out light bulbs, broken swivel chair, hot tub jets broken). Nice spacious home, huge dining table and great theatre. Unacceptable that we left numerous messages for BR about these issues and not one return call, text or email. Would not use Beach Realty in the future.

Salty Sand Dollar 4x4 is Fantastic!Worth the experience on the 4x4 beach! Super clean, friendly, detailed and organized reality company. Plenty to do for everyone at the house and beach without needing to go much of anywhere. Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful!

Our Stay in Anna!Very Relaxing StayWe stayed at Anna in mid-May and were quite pleased with the entire stay. Being prior to the Memorial Day crowds, it was nice, quiet and very relaxing stay for all of us. The house is located in a perfect location and close to a lot of things. Upon arrival, everything was spotless. The rooms are good sized, the beds comfortable and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. There's a Harris Teeter pretty much right around the corner for any supplies you would need. Other than the photos containing the walkway out to the beach, everything was exactly as seen on the website. The walkway is being rebuilt, but is still quite nice! I noticed a couple of things I took photos of and sent them to the staff and someone came right out and fixed/replaced. The only complaints that I have are that the grill is in pretty rough shape. We were able to use it, but it took some work to get it ready to use. The other was that the coupons in the welcome package were expired. Certainly not any issues with the house itself though. I would definitely try to stay here again if we get back to OBX!

Worst Vacation Rental Company - this vacation was Murphy's law vacation. Everything that could have gone wrong with the house went wrong. The hot tub broke. The pool filter broke. The dryer drum broke and left this razor-blade like piece of metal twisted into our towels. It was poorly cleaned prior to our arrival & maintenance is non-existent. I completely understand a lot of tourists come in and out of these homes, so I do not expect perfection. However, it's not too much to expect a TIMELY response from the rental company. We called and texted numerous times. You're put on hold for a max of 10 minutes, then prompted to leave a message, which they might return 3 days later half way into your vacation. For this trip, we fixed the pool filter ourselves, the dryer was never fixed and the hot tub was fixed on our last night...gee, thanks. DO NOT RENT from this company ever and I certainly would never consider buying from them either.

Our Stay in Crowe's Nest - C0131!Crowe's NestThis is the second time that my husband and I have enjoyed Crowe's Nest and we will definitely return! This home is very comfortable and a beautiful location for enjoying the stars, sunrises and sunsets! We enjoyed our numerous walks on the beach with our Sheltie puppy as well as easy access to Corolla Light for their gym and indoor pool.

Our Stay in The Coast Is Clear!Beach parade!We loved this house! It was roomy and well stocked. Some reviews had mentioned noise from the public beach access walkway, but we enjoyed watching the parade of beach goers from our deck! Traffic was heavy, but that's what you get during summer visits.

If we could leave 0 stars we would. I absolutely would never ever rent from this group again. From the second we walked in to Dolphin’s Song it reeked like mildew. As we went through the rest of the house it just got worse. Food on the floors(wrappers as well as French fries, fruit loops, raisins, Doritos, potato chips, etc) bar soap and gardening gloves left in the outdoor shower, a line of crumbs on each stair, black mold in each room even on childrens bunk bed frame, bugs on the bed, air filters covered beyond belief, cookware with dried food, broken hot tub with pieces in the yard, and just so much more. Our feet were black after 30 mins of walking in the house. The high-touch areas resulted in black wipes. The kids woke up with bites all over. They had ants all over their room from food we found in the closet. We reported the issues immediately and made 7 phone calls and 3 days until we finally had housekeeping come back to which we were informed they don’t clean any of the cookware or even open the cabinets, they do not check the mattresses, nor do they wipe high touch areas, they do not clean the carpets besides vacuuming which they use the vacuum in the house (which 2/3 of them were broken). Essentially the bare minimum of a clean. We requested to be given our own cleaning supplies which never came and we were not reimbursed for when we had no choice but to buy our own. It took more than 10 calls in total to have our issue escalated which we requested from day 1, only to be told we would receive $300 back. When we said that is ridiculous considering the 16 hours we put in to cleaning , we were told “well that’s more than the cleaning fee”. Horrible customer service. Horrible company to rent. THEY DELETE THE BAD REVIEWS ON THEIR WEBSITE TO KEEP COLLECTING EAGER VACATIONERS MONEY KNOWING THEY ARE PROVIDING A HOME THAT WILL LIKELY RUIN ANYONES VACATION DUE TO FILTH. Nobody wants to feel repulsed and dirty getting in to bed or sitting on a couch.

I've been renting houses in OBX for 11 years and routinely rent in other locations. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I'm limited to 2000 characters, so I'll keep it short. On the third day of our stay, sewage began backing up in the lower floor bathroom. The tub was full and the toilet overflowed. We called for emergency plumbing support and no one came to the house for two days. The whole time we could barely use water for fear of making it worse. On the third day they fixed the septic system, but didn't clean the bathroom, so it was another full day before the bathroom was functional. The management company was barely responsive to multiple calls and texts asking for details, a plan and feedback on the situation, which basically overtook my entire vacation. The hot tub also never worked, which we reported, multiple times, but honestly I put my energy into chasing a plumbing fix. I sent a follow up email to the management of Beach Realty. They apologized and after four weeks gave us an 8% refund on the whole week. Given the plumbing issues affected the entire house and all guests for three days, we were dissatisfied, but they are not responsive to any other resolution requests. I understand things break in homes and service can be hard during high season. This does not excuse the lack of communication from Beach Realty or any measure of proactivity on their part to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Our Stay in Summer Winds!Beautiful week in the OBXOverall we really enjoyed our stay at Summer Winds. There was plenty of room for our group. There are a few updates that we would recommend: pool deck could use some cleaning as there were prickly weeds growing in the cracks, deck boards on the second level were loose or raised which could be a tripping hazard, some bathtub/shower faucets were leaky, and the wifi was not powerful enough for all the tv's and devices that were going. I would recommend getting a second router. We had one issue with a bed support breaking but it was addressed and fixed quickly. We have been staying in Corolla for over 15 years and this was one of the better homes we have stayed in. The location was great and the overall experience with the rental company was wonderful. The home was ready and cleaned well before the 4 PM check in time which was great.

Our Stay in Nauti Doonz!Beautifully renovated spacious house!Had a fantastic week at this house. Been to OBX many times and so tired of the outdated look and furniture in most. This one is different - beautifully renovated in all gray, blues and white. No musty smell or old carpets. I highly recommend this house. Also, so many bed- and bathrooms for a large family or group of friends. Efficient use of space. Great management company and perfect location. Everyone in our group of 20 were very happy!

AWFUL RENTAL COMPANYWe drove up to the house to find the end of the driveway strewn with trash and the trash cans laying in a huge flooded area on the road. We then entered the house to find the doors were unlocked. Apparently the previous renter had followed the checkout instructions and not locked the deadbolts so the cleaning people could get it but the other locks were both broken. And we unfortunately then discovered that the cleaning people had never come to the house. There was dog hair everywhere, dog feces on the deck, the windows were all dog and hand smeared, all the showers had to have long hair cleaned out of the drains, coffee grounds were still in the coffee maker, dirty linens on the beds and the screen door broken. Basically, it had been rented for someone's week-long vacation and never cleaned before we arrived. Not what we were looking forward to after a 12 hour drive. All the batteries in the smoke detectors were dead and if they were low enough to reach, they had been removed by a previous renter. The smoke detectors that were too high to reach beeped nonstop for the entire week of our vacation. Cellular data connection was poor and the internet did not work.Beach Realty was totally unresponsive. They were closed by the time we got to the house so we cleaned ourselves. They have refused to give any refund. (DO NOT SIGN THEIR STANDARD CONTRACT!) I contacted them every day to get the internet fixed and the smoke detectors batteries changed and got nothing but meaningless lip service. The Beach Realty Rental Manager Keli Mollenhauer said they had a work order to document they had requested service for the cable but they could not make the cable company respond within a week. (On what planet does it take a cable company a week to respond when your cable is out?) Obviously Keli was lying so I requested a copy of the documentation which she of course did not send because it does not exist.Trash was supposed to be picked up Wednesday and despite the tiny trash cans with no lids being very full and placed for pick up, trash was not picked up. I again contacted Beach Realty and again I was assured it would be taken care of and again nothing happened. Except we had nowhere to put our trash and a cat would tear it apart every night. So I spent each morning of my vacation after that picking up our trash (and the trash of the previous renter) and putting it back in bags. You would think that a 2K per week rental could afford trash cans, cleaning and batteries for the smoke detectors.If you have read my vent this far, thank you for your patience, enjoy the pics below and whatever you do, DO NOT RENT FROM BEACH REALTY.

So not impressed with Beach Realty. I understand that things happen. But a lot of it is about customer service. When you spend $3500 for a week for a family vacation you expect not to be ignored by the rental company..we are staying at Beyond the White Breakers when we checked in on Saturday the tvs dont work. Even though it is advertised on their site as having "satellite tv"..It appears there is no subscription to it..i texted three times and my husband once..he spoke to someone Saturday night and was told they would let maintenance know..we have now been over two full days of our 7 day vacation with no tv. And today its miserable outside. Both sliding glass doors leak and carpet is soaked in front of doors..the bedroom we are sleeping in on second floor the window is leaking..the house was not cleaned well when we arrived..in the master bedroom.the switch is broken and hanging out of the wall..its now Monday at 5pm and still havent heard from anyone to remedy at least the tv situation..i was very nice in my messages on Saturday to them but now im at my wits end with this company..i read some of the reviews just barely and they responded to someone else that didnt have a great experience at a different house and were told they ask all gueats to inspect the property upon arrival and report any issues within 24hrs so they can get ur vacation off to a great start. We did that and have been ignored. This is our first year staying with Beach Realty..the prior 4 years we stayed with another company and received much better service and the cost was $1300 less for the week..i am less than impressed to say the least.

We really enjoyed our stay. We go to the OBX every summer and the walk to the beach at this house has been one of the best so far. The beach was also amazing, especially considering it's peak time in the season. The house had all the basics we needed to enjoy time together and plenty of space for the 9 of us. The customer service was also great and very responsive.

Hubbers & I stayed @ Anna in 2021 ( Luv it) so wanted to do a Much needed Famy vaca in 2022. Family was not only surprised but truly enjoyed their time here in Corolla. Anna was clean, staff was very helpful ( especially after our 7+hr drive). Would definitely stay at the Anna again.

Our Stay in Rankin - C9009!The house is amazingly situated at the top of the dune so beach access was easy and views were amazing. We enjoyed the house and well-stocked kitchen. The house is nicely laid out with private and public spaces flowing well to accommodate everyone. Overall, all the kitchen needs a thorough cleaning of every cupboard, drawer, pot and pan but those are things we could easily manage while we were there without affecting our stay. The driveway can accommodate two vehicles but was a little tight to avoid congestion if both vehicles weren't leaving at the same time. But the house and views made it well worth a little strategic maneuvering. We started planning our next trip to the house while we were there!

Our Stay in Tee Dreams - C0432!Beautiful HouseThis home is nicely laid out and has plenty of room , we had 5 adults and 3 children. The beds were comfortable and clean. Then there is the kitchen!!! It was amazing everything you could need and then some. Appliances were top notch . My only complaint was we could not get a pass to park on the beach due to the new limit that is now being used. The rental office should have let us know of the changes . Also the upper deck is splintering!. Thank you for a wonderful week !

Renter beware !! We rented from this company for the first time . Nags head home called happy dog days . The home has a lot of potential but unfortunately was very disappointed . Arrived to a messy kitchen (food, fingerprints all over appliances) kitchen sink had not been cleaned . There was food and spots on the faucets . Master bath shower door had not been cleaned so obviously I doubt the shower had been cleaned . Dishwasher full of dirty dishes, windows of sliding doors had dog slobber ….obviously had not been cleaned in some time . Black cob webs throughout the house on fans and vents. The TVs barely worked and the only option was Roku which only partially worked as the internet was spotty. Pool had not been cleaned .hot tub is supposed to be new but it doesn’t work. It does heat water but jets don’t not work. Microwave on bottom level is broken. Multiple cabinet drawers broke . Molding coming off master bedroom door . Deep scratches in molding from previous large dogs . I called twice to report. Finally the cleaning service came back . Spent a whole 5 minutes inside and said everything was clean. Pool service never did show up to clean the pool. Skimmer was filthy and cut grass lay on top of the pool water . Bedding is atrocious. Sheets do not fit over the mattress. Pillow cases do not fit the pillows and the master upstairs is terribly uncomfortable . There is a thick layer of dust on the window blinds, lamps, table and chairs etc. the sofa in the living room is dirty and smells bad . I sprayed with lysol before use . It’s also very old and terribly uncomfortable . I cleaned the kitchen and all the bathrooms with Clorox wipes before we were able to enjoy anything. My husband cleaned the pool as best he could . Thumbs down!! Do not recommend !

Our Stay in A Beach Ball - C5112!Great House for Large GroupThis house was great for a large group. There were plenty of bedrooms available with private baths. Game room was perfect for those who want to stay up late. Access to the beach was directly across the street. Plenty of parking.The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of dishes, glasses, coffee pots, blenders, mixers, etc. Overall, place was perfect for our needs.

Great home in quiet location. Owners decorated and put up a tree for the holiday, which made our stay very special. Super clean home. Plenty of space for all. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, great hot tub.
