Service was great. Food came out hot and fast! Food was good! Forgot to take pictures of the food it looks so good and we just wanted to eat! They do not take credit cards, so make sure to have cash or use the atm inside.Parking: Plenty of parking space for large vehiclesKid-friendliness: They were okay with our crazy toddler.

I got the hamburger steak plate with mashed potatoes n gravy, hush puppies, lima beans, and sweet tea. The plate itself was good, just ok. Nothing mouth watering. I'm not sure how this plate is usually fixed. Last year, it came with bell peppers and onions. Today, it was just bland. I can deal with that. The sweet tea was perfect and light.I gave this a order a 2⭐️ review because of the cake. It looked so delicious and yummy. Looks are deceiving! After the 3rd bite, my tongue started burning, and it tasted like some type of soap. I stopped eating it and threw it away. At this point, my mouth started smelling like some type of cleaning agent.This was too dangerous, not to mention it.

My boyfriend and I stopped by this cute diner on the way back home and we were absolutely delighted with everything. The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. The service was also immaculate- the owner made sure to stop by and check on us, and our server (along with everyone) was super warm and welcoming. Makes you feel like you’re home! 10/10 recommend to anyone driving by.PS- try their pies. You won’t regret it.

Just off the interstate, this family restaurant was a wonderful choice. It's homey and friendly. I had the chicken salad plate. The sweet tea was absolutely one of the best I have ever tasted.

I read the reviews and look at the pictures before we decided to stop for food and gas. On our way back to Michigan from our vacation. The mashed potatoes was amazing and so was the Meatloaf. I ask about the desserts when I order food. I tried the pineapple cake and it so good. I got it to go cuz I knew I would be stuffed. I tried a little before we left. My friends had the pecan pie and it was warm. It taste like no other pecan pie I ever ate in the Northern states. Try ice cream w it. I sample my friend pie and got one to go. Back home it’s always too sweet. This was just right. Sorry no pic of the cake and pie. Trust me get one. U won’t go wrong. Our Server did a good job w her service.

Irene was very nice, got 2 hot dogs all the way with fresh slices deep fried potatoes, chili is made from scratch. Pineapple cake is made from scratch, wife had cheeseburger, fresh pressed hamburger cooked to perfection, bun steamed, with fresh cut fries

This is a friendly and long standing restaurant in Candor. I sense that it has a local clientele. The service was nice. The place offers a daily special each day of the week. For example Wednesday is spaghetti night. I tried the famous Blake chopped steak with boiled potatoes and green beans. Their sides vary as well each day.

Didn’t get to eat. Arrived while traveling at 1:50 PM and as we entered, we were told the restaurant was closed. The sign on the door said they were open until 2 PM. I guess they meant they wanted everyone out by 2 PM.

Great place! Home- style food such as baked ham, turkey w/ dressing, roast beef, hamburger steak, etc. And the atmosphere is down home where everyone may be strangers but chat it up like they've known each other for years.

Hamburger steak didnt get onions and thought all hamburger steak had gravy on it. What I got was a hamburger patty, cold fried okra it was not cooked fresh and old black eyed peas. Was hoping for great food since its been in business so long. Guess I ordered the wrong food.But my grandson said his chicken sandwich was good.

UPDATE:6/17/23After an amazing experience on 6/12/23, I came back with my family. We were sorely disappointed. The old fake blonde lady was way too interested in employee drama to do her job.We watched a couple get up and leave and we decided to do the same.The owners need to make some serious decisions. That woman is a drama queen that lives for issues instead of just doing the work. Loud talking on the phone about employees being ill, allowing customers to leave because of her failing to work and giving out private medical issues to all within the restaurant. This lady is causing nothing but issues.We left and found Seagrove Family Restaurant. It is great.Found this place driving up from the beach. WOW!Food-GREATSERVICE-GREATPRICE-ReasonableThis is our go to spot in this part of the state.

We got there at a very busy time. It took some time for us to get our drinks and order in. We had never eaten there before and were just passing thru on our way to Myrtle Beach. Wanted something that didn't come from a drive-thru window. They did not disappoint! Well worth the wait and will definitely be added to our regular side stops along the way next time!
