Pretty disappointed. We stayed in Waves and had a nice enough house. I mean, you go to spend time outside, so the fact that the house is like a 1991 time warp isn't that important. We saw the pics and knew it was dated. It was clean and had a pool. What wasn't ideal was the broken oven. Most vacationers bring food to cook to save money, so two meals were a wash - one was completely ruined, so money down the drain and then had to buy carryout. I put in a maintenance request on day two and didn't hear from them. So, not great. Also, about half of the plastic furniture on the decks was broken. It was like a game of roulette when you sat down - was the chair or lounger going to do its job? Very poor upkeep there.

It seems that no one writes Google reviews unless they are upset. We have been renting from Sun Realty for several years now and have had nothing but positive experiences. We just returned from our most recent vacation. Sure, there were a few hiccups along the way but Sun Realty took care of everything right away. Weeks before we arrived, there was an error in the charge for the house. When pointed out, they responded right away and it was corrected immediately. During the first day of our trip, we found that the coffee maker didn't work. We had a new one that morning. We also reported that dock steps were somewhat loose and a couple of the screws were coming out. At some point while we were out on the beach that day, someone came and made the repair. Sun Realty - Avon will continue to be our first choice for vacation rentals.

We booked a beach home back in February for 5 adults , after final payment was sent one month before arrival we were notified that the bedding had changed. There were now kids bunk beds where an adult was to be sleeping. If we were notified earlier ( not during peak season) we may have had a chance to fine another home. Placing us in another home at similar value or at the least discounting our rental should have been options. Sun reality basically offered a full refund, but being peak season all homes are booked.

Our experience with Sun Realty has been beyond fantastic. We had a few hiccups with some minor house issues due to the storm on the first day of our stay. Every time we had to call Sun for something, their response was the definition of perfect customer service: friendly and offering a quick solution along with a follow up phone call to be sure it was resolved. I have been coming to OBX twice a year for over 8 years and Sun has been the best realty company I have the pleasure to work with. They are my #1 choice going forward. Thank you again for an amazing vacation!

We had a not so nice person that I spoke with named Maria at the beginning when we booked the rental house but after that everyone else that I spoke with in the Avon office was so pleasant and extremely helpful. Especially Cathy! She was so helpful. The house we rented was wonderful and we had a great family vacation. Thank you all so much!

Worst possible service of all time. Corolla property. Was hung up on after trying to get house code 2 hours after contract listed it was due. Still haven’t received a code and are stranded.DONT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING

This will be long, please continue reading.Just returned from a week in Avon. This was our first (and last) time using Sun Realty. Everything up to arrival was smooth, no complaints there (one star). We weren't thrilled at the 5:00 check-in time, but nothing we could do about that. At 5:10, we hadn't been notified, so I gave the office a call. They said no one had even begun cleaning our rental and could be up to 3!!! more hours!! It ended up being about an hour and a half. However, once we got there, imagine our surprise when we realized no cleaning had been done. It was basically stripping of beds and placing new linen for us and maybe a sweep across the floor and they called that clean. It was disgusting. I didn't take near the pictures I should have. We found empty soda bottles, chip bags, clothing tags under or behind furniture. We had to clean as soon as we got there, because, ew. I called office Sunday am and received an apology and was referred to Housekeeping who also apologized and offered to come out to clean. We declined thank you very much, one day of vaca already shot. Plus, we already did their job.The rental is currently under contract so obviously no one gives a flip. Except us, cuz you know, vacation.The pièce de résistance was when we were leaving. A gentleman in a red pick up with a pest control company logo pulled in as we were getting ready to head out and asked if he could do something (I can't remember what). We said sure, go ahead. His reply "blessings to you". Well, we went to breakfast and my husband realized he left his tackle bag, so he drove right down street back to house and it was gone! called the office, he was told they would contact pest control and call him back. Today is Monday, we are back home since Saturday and he hasn't heard a word. Yes he did leave it, but is this what your employees and contractors do? Steal things?We had a wonderful time in Avon and will be returning. Next time though, we will choose another company. Blessings to you all, especially the cat in the red pick up truck, you need them.

House was fine. Except for it being hastily cleaned prior to our arrival. The real issue was the staff at Avon Sun Realty. Any questions asked of staff member Maria Chewning was met with disrespect, attitude and sarcasm. After speaking with a supervisor about Maria's behavior I was told that she was stressed out and that Maria had a short temper as if that makes it acceptable to speak to a renter the way she did.You can find comparable houses everywhere in outer banks, but what you can't always find is good customer service. First time with Sun Realty and possibly the last, at least on Hatteras Island where Maria is in charge of your home.

The property we rented In Buxton thru Sun Realty for a large family reunion was awesome. Sun Realty has all the bases covered from accurate check- in and check-out information, companies to rent supplies from and quick response for repair issues.I highly recommend them.

I give them one star simply because the location is beautiful. Sun Realty, however, is terrible. We had septic tank issues the first full day we were there and the woman in the office was rude, condescending, unprofessional and environmentally irresponsible. She did not have the issue taken care of for two full days, likely because they didn't want to pay a hefty fee to have someone come out on a weekend. The furniture on the porches was so corroded that there were rust filings under all of the legs and you couldn't sit on any of it because it would collapse. The house was dirty, and none of the beds were made despite having paid extra for that service. Much of this would have been overlooked if the woman who answered their phones weren't so hateful and mean. She couldn't have cared less. We will NEVER rent from Sun Realty ever again

Finishing up our second week here at Two Views and it could not have been better. Kudos to Bonnie and Rebecca for going out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. They were both courteous, professional and their prompt attention to our every concern was appreciated. We will certainly use Sun Realty in the future. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation.

I have rented houses in the outer banks many times and Sun Realty was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The property we rented was filthy, covered in dog hair and dirt and sand and cockroaches and wasps and old food. The roof leaked in FIVE separate places, and ruined my laptop cover and almost ruined my laptop itself, the appliances were glitchy (burner on stove stopped working, lights in kitchen ceased functioning, probably due to leaking), the hot tub had a used paper towel in it and was dysfunctional and even the repair man said he was surprised how bad it was, there were USED RAZORS AND OTHER UTENSILS in the bathroom (which had black rotting caulk and old hair and dirt in the tub), there was a giant dead spider on the bed, the beds were full of dirt and dog hair and bugs and the covers were half off, hardwood floors were so dirty they were sticky and turned a cloth brown, downstairs bathroom rug was coated in filth, a pillowcase was smeared with something brown and disgusting. I could go on, but the important thing is that I let Sun Realty know about these conditions during and after the visit and provided documentation and concerns were NEVER addressed and my emails have gone unanswered. They are also deceptive: The leakage was clearly related to recent hurricane damage widespread on the beach and when I asked if there was any hurricane damage when I made the reservation they assured me there was none and that the area had not been affected by the storm, and also the 'customer' review they allow on their webpage is incorrect because we cannot see the light house from the deck. They refused to reimburse us a dime despite the day we spent cleaning, the damage done to personal property, and their liability in the entire matter.UPDATE on 11/24/18. Avon realty has refunded the cleaning fee and reimbursed me for damages to property due to a leaky roof, which is less than I requested but it is at least something.

I’m giving the 2 stars just because the lady at check in was really nice. After that it went downhill! We checked in on Saturday, well Saturday evening I find one of those huge cockroaches (the fancy name they use is palmetto bugs), in one of the bedrooms! Well of course you can’t sleep seeing this! Then on top of that the air conditioning wasn’t equipped to cool off the house properly in that amount of heat. The temp would get to 77-78 degrees in the heat of the day. Which the temp outside was 89 and a heat index of 105! We called the reality about both of these issues. They did send someone to check. The AC was doing all it could do and they asked us to not put the thermostat below 70! They said leave the blinds shut in the house to help. Well who wants to sit in a house you can’t see out of?! When I spoke with the lady about the bugs, she said our dogs would be ok in the house because it’s a all natural product they use. They make an appointment for someone to come out. We sat and waited for him, he proceeds to ask us to leave with the dogs because it could make them sick. Well there’s nothing to do with 2 small dogs in that kind of heat!! I found 6 of those bugs before he sprayed! They said there very common for there area but I’m not happy paying that much money and staying with a warm house and bugs. So we come home to be comfortable losing a week worth of our very hard earned vacation!! 5 nights wasted! I will never be back!! We stayed at the Atlantic Pearl in Avon

Very disappointing. Dog hair coated the sheets, it must have transferred from the quilt since we only saw it on day 2. Dog hair coated the end tables and a colony of bugs was investing the ceiling. Also found out upon being evacuated that the trip insurance to be purchased by the property owner must first be purchased by the renter???? This was not explained on the website and we were supposed to know we didn't have trip insurance due to lack of charge for service we were not supposed to be charged for in the first place...????? If a service is advertised it should be provided without shady business practice. Also if there was a pet on previous rental the quilts should at least be laundered.

Ps2 with no games, no hdmi cord on any of the tvs and only dvd players. Internet doesn't cover the whole house at all only top two levels (if that). House creeks everything wind blows. Not a bad house but definitely been in better for same amount of money. Wouldn't recommend.

Didnt help at all since we couldn't get home due to hwy 12 being closed. Let my mother turn in the key . Then said sorry we have honor the contract and that's all they had to do 😠😠😠😠. The house was amazing and I hate writing this. They could of let us stay somewhere else and we pay the cleaning fee

Lady was rude at the front desk, also we drove 8 hours to make it here by 11 because that's normal check in for any place.... we got here at 11 lady said it's not ready ... it will be ready 4-5 pm so I don't know what to do but sit in the van with the dogs and wait.... ... what's messed up is you can check in at 5 pm but when it's time to leave you have to be out by 10 am!!! Don't use sunrealty.... midget realty was wayyyy better
