Always a great experience! My dog loves going to Hair of the Dog for grooming, play days, and boarding. She receives lots of love and interaction from the staff, especially Sarah who bathes and pampers her. Flexible on drop-off and pick-up times. The staff interacts with our vet on occasion when questions arise. Rates are very reasonable. Five stars all around!

We have not done any of their grooming services yet, so I can only speak to our experience with boarding and doggy day care. They are FANTASTIC. We left our 6 month old puppy with them to go to a wedding and she had the absolute best time. The people who work there clearly love dogs and treat them so well. I couldn't recommend them more!Update - their groomers are incredible. There is no one else we would trust with our dogs!

They did a great job on my mini golden doodle's grooming. I love that they let the dogs hang out and don't put them in crates because my dog is very social and hates crates. All of the staff have been friendly and they're easy to get ahold of via telephone.

I brought my husky pup in as I had gotten really behind on his at home grooming. He had matts on his belly and his undercoat was excessive and thick. Brittany worked with him patiently and lovingly and got us back on track! And he had a great time!

Hair of the Dog took such good care of our big Golden Retriever, Jenkins! We recently moved to NC and our boy needed to get cleaned up! Their no cage method was so enjoyable for Jenkins! Not only did he receive love, a good grooming but he also received a day of play! Thank you for making this transition easier for all. Jenkins is 3 years old & y’all are only his second groomer!

I love this place! I first started using Hair of the Dog for grooming and was very pleased with the results. I decided to try the daycare services and I couldn’t be happier! There are no cages, so dogs are free to come in and out as they please. The backyard is large and has equipment and toys for the dogs to play with. My pup comes home very happy and tired :) The prices are so reasonable for the level of services provided and my dog hasn’t been sick once. I’m so pleased with how they keep up on vaccine records and will send a dog home for coughing. I cannot recommend Hair of the Dog enough.. Staff is fantastic and I know my Marvin is in great hands!!

I love HOTD! Brittney Donohue has groomed one of my babies for 8+ years and the other one 6 years (Yorkie Poo and a Golden Doodle). They are so incredibly excited to get there and that in itself, says it all for me. The new shop is convenient too! If you're looking for a groomer and want your dog to be able to run and play, go to HOTD.

Poor customer experience. All shots were in date except flu and was told when l arrived, after 3 months of waiting, that the flu shot was required. I originally used this location because they took care of calling our vet and keeping me updated as part of their service. Upon my arrival, I was told this wasn’t part of their service any longer. All of this after my 20 pound dog, who was on a leash, was chased and growled at by one of the groomers 90 pound dogs who was not on a leash. My purse and papers were thrown all over the lawn because of it. I left shaken and upset. It seems that they would have been more sympathetic or would have reached out. Disappointed.

Excellent! We usually get our fur babies groomed there. We recently boarded our extremely timid and shy boy there. We explained his situation to the staff. The staff was excellent with him and even got him out of his shell. They actually had him feeling sooo comfortable that he started walking up to them to say hello. The staff was absolutely terrific!! They communicated with me everyday on how he was doing and even sended me pics. Will definitely board our little boy there again. Thank you all!

Our golden doodle, Fletcher, loves coming to Hair of the Dog! They do a wonderful job grooming him, and he loves being able to play with the other dogs before and after his grooming appointment. They are great at communicating, and everyone is so nice there! Highly recommend!

Hair of the Dog is always prompt with replying, flexible, and are GREAT groomers. Most importantly they are kind and understanding. My pups always leave soft and with the cutest bow or bandana! I have always had great experience communicating with Salem. The other employees are just as great as well. Will never go anywhere else for my dogs to be groomed!

I wish we had found Hair of the Dog years ago! My boys had such a good day! The cage free environment is something we did not know existed and was exactly what my boys needed. Being able to play and make new friends before their grooming took some of their stress away. Even though I have one very wiggly and uncooperative Yorkie, Brittney managed to give him a fabulous cut today! Every single person we met today was so welcoming and their love for animals was apparent. Thank you Brooke, Salem, and Sarah for being so kind! Thanks for loving on Squirt and Diesel today! We can’t wait to come back for play days and grooming! Hair of the Dog is a very special place!

I brought in my 12 year old Dutch shepherd mix for a nail trim. She had never let anyone trim her nails before, but they were starting to get out of control, and hair of the dog pet salon said they could do it. She was super scared when we got there, so they cleared all the dogs out of the room. They had one technician snuggling her and keeping her calm and another grinding down her nails. She has arthritis in her back, so they were also mindful of that and worked in a way to keep her comfortable. They did an excellent job and she was much calmer than I expected. I was super impressed and very happy with the experience!

This is by far the best groomer that we’ve ever been to. I have a very anxious Newfie and they are so kind and patient with her. They are really working with her on her grooming fear. This groomer has issues. They cancelled my dog twice now before his very first appointment. Waited over 2 months now for my dog to get groomed for them to tell me he needs another booster shot for the flu the day before the appointment. They are very unorganized.

As a fellow pet care professional, I respect and appreciate the crew at HOTD for their professionalism, transparency, kindness, and excellent customer service. When I got a rough coat Jack Russell last year that would require regular grooming, I knew immediately that I would be going to HOTD as I had seen their amazing haircuts throughout the years among the dogs under my care. Hopscotch always looks adorable after seeing Michelle and is happy as can be when she arrives...and still having fun when I pick her up! Thanks to the whole staff for loving our dogs so much!!

I used to take my labordoodle here until we got him back from his last hair cut and he looked the exact same except his main body was shaved. We requested his tail to be cut and his face to be cleaned up and neither were done. Still paid full price. They can’t hear what you’re saying because the dogs are kept in the lobby that is extremely small and cluttered with safety hazards (electrical cords, trimming bed with the neck harnesses just hanging) Smaller dogs are able to jump onto the trimming bed and possibly get their head stuck in the harness. The groomer also was rude to us when we used to always tip her good. Would not recommend!

Ive been taking my hound dog Sydney here for boarding and nail trim for a few years now and they have been kind and done a good job to her everytime. Just recently my cousin also had her dog for boarding there and they sent her texts and updates and she said they were always nice. I love that they are cage free and let dogs run around. I couldn't imagine my baby being in a cage all night.

Took my chihuahua to have her nails trimmed. She is always very anxious when I try to do hers, even though Ove never quicker her. They got them so short and pretty without any issues/pain! fast and friendly service.

We made appointment with Michelle to groom our puppy. We had to wait a month for the appointment. I drop off our puppy at 8am, a few minutes later I got a text saying Michelle was to busy to groom our puppy and another groomer would have to groom him if we wanted him groomed. We reminded them we had made the appointment over a month ago with Michelle.Our puppy was the first dog dropped off, and it was after 3pm before he was ready to be picked up.Long story short, we had to take our puppy to another groomer the next day to get his sanitary cut done right.Hair of the dog charges top dollar, and their grooming and customer service, leaves a lot to be desired.

I have a sweet pointer mix dog who is about 4 years old. She will not let me even touch her nails and they were getting so long and in dire need of a trim. I took her to Hair of the Dog and she was taken care of by a group of very caring and compassionate ladies. I am so grateful for the service we received today and well will definitely be back. Our Cairn Terrier, who turned fifteen last month, has had some health problems this year and my husband and I worry often about how much more time we will have with her. Naturally her coat is not as full as it once was, so I talked with Michelle prior to her grooming appointment about the best way to handle her trimming for the winter season. Delighted is the best way to describe how I felt when I came home and saw how beautiful she looks with her new cut. Thank you Michelle for making an old dog look almost young again!

We had been looking for an affordable place to bring our dog when we were out of town on vacation. I love that the dogs are not kept in cages and have the ability to go outside any time they like through a doggy door, even in the middle of the night. Staff stays on site, 24/7. Nice staff. Affordable. Dog grooming was done before I picked up my dog. Super convenient. Thanks!

Absolutely loved what Michelle did for my little baby!!! I have a miniature poodle who has a really difficult time getting groomed because he gets nervous and Michelle was able to successfully and beautifully groom him! Totally recommend her and Hair of the Dog! Great place, great groomer and great energy!!!

We’ve been getting our mostly poodle pup groomed at hair of the dog every 6 weeks and absolutely love it. She gets to play and have fun all day, and comes home with a fantastic cut.
