This afternoon, my son and I attempted to wash our dog at this Webster location of country max. At first, we paid our money to use the dog wash and then went back to find dog hair in both tubs, dog hair all over dog utensils, and on the rubber aprons. Okay, it is a dog wash. We have always washed our dogs at home because of fears of cross-contamination from other dogs, but the lure of a standing height tub with my aging back drew us to try Country Max. Then, we had no hot water. The staff was very helpful but could not produce hot water. Their reasoning was the Wash had been busy all day. But at that point, we'd been there over 10 minutes during which no water was used, and still no even warm water came forth from the nozzle. I suggested that the water temperature was turned too low on their hot water tank. Or perhaps, the pilot light had gone out. No one had access to the hot water tank. The staff was very gracious and offered a refund. At first I said yes and then I realized, I'm here the dog has already had its calming pill, we'd already done the hair trim at home, let's just get this over with quickly. So I put the dog into the tub, got him wet, and then began to use the shampoo nozzles, only to realize there's no shampoo. So I sent my son to ask them where's the shampoo? There was lots of water coming from both nozzles, neither of which were labeled, although the big sign on the wall of the dog wash explained that I could look to the labels to know which shampoo was which. A gracious employee came back and explained one nozzle was hypoallergenic shampoo the other was fruity shampoo. I showed him they were both water. A light little residue did come out from the nozzle, although with a hand brush, it wiped right off my dog's Aussie -poo hair. He explained that residue was the shampoo. I said, look I can't get any sudsing on my dogs hair. He said well that's our shampoo. And I said well then I guess what you really need to advertise is bring your own shampoo. To which quipped the brilliant statement of, "if that's what needs to happen then that's the way it has to be." And since the shampoo is watered down with cold water, the shampoo comes out cold. And, as it has no viscosity, you can't rub it together between your hands to warm it up a bit. I asked about the hair dryer as there was not a direction as to how to turn it on. Another kind employee showed me, but it came out cold air only. I said, does it warm up at all? No, was the reply, "unfortunately that's all it is is cold air." So, while the employees at the Webster Country Max are lovely gracious people, the dog wash sucks. And so, if you choose to go, be warned that there is no sanitizing the equipment between usage, there is no warm water, there is no warm blow drying, and there is no shampoo. My dog still smells like a dirty dog despite washing him in two types of shampoo water.

Great pet supplies for types of creatures. Tons of house plants and great pots for flowers. The fish and furry creatures secrion was a blast. We got a winter shovel and salt for a good price. The staff answered all our questions politely. Would recommend Country Max to anyone.

Would be 1 star if not for the employees.Not really the fault of the employees more of the policies.My mom noticed a hermit crab out of it's shell above ground.Came in to rescue it, as I keep crabs.There's no good shells for them that they'll choose, size wise and type. And the substrate and water dishes are too shallow.An associate who was very helpful thought he was molting, if hermit crabs are molting above ground they're most likely to die as well. So not good.I believe it was manager said we couldn't buy him because he was choosing a shell. And that if he died after I brought him home they couldn't do anything. Most likely he's going to die because of this. Left my name and number if he got back in it's shell. But I'm not hopefully.I wasn't planning on returning him if ppds happens. I just wanted to reduce himI appreciate them helping and trying, but it's not a good environment for crabs, countrymax should help adjust their policies or stop supporting the hermit crab tradeThank you to Rachel though, and I didn't get the other associates name though, for helping and doing what they thought was in its best interest though.

This store has a variety of supplies not only for your lawn and garden but also they have all you need for your pets. I really enjoy my is store browsing and came away with some great deals.

This was my first time coming to this CountryMax location and I had a terrible experience. I bought 3 of the 2 cubic foot Coast of Maine potting soil bags. Come to find out that after they charged me, they were out of the 2 cubic foot bags. They had 1 cubic foot bags of the same product, but those were more expensive. The associate and the manager told me, after making me wait for like 10 minutes to figure out what to do, that they needed to do a return and then charge me more money. You would think in a case like this, they would just honor the price of the 2 cubic foot bags. So now I have to wait until the refund goes through to get my money back and I have no potting soil. Safe to say I will never be coming back here. Went to Bristols and got a way better deal on better potting soil.

We've been frequent shoppers at this location since it first opened, and have always enjoyed being customers here. Great store, great lay-out, super clean and well stocked.Tonight, we utilized their lovely party room for the first time for our daughters birthday party, and I can't commend CountryMax and the Webster store team enough for helping us host a great event. First - Their party room is beautiful, spacious, and the store staff had it set-up so nicely for us. We chose the small animal party theme, and our party host Jimmy was SO patient and lovely with all the kiddos in attendance, giving them multiple experiences to meet and learn about some of the animals there at the store. Rachel the store manager was also super attentive with ensuring that we had everything we needed & the room set-up was completed to.a T. The party offerings through CountryMax are such a hidden gem, which I will be recommending widely from here on out. Jimmy, Rachel and the entire CountryMax team, THANK YOU! We are so appreciative.

CountryMax in Webster has an absolute all star staff. Whether I’m looking for aquarium fish/plants, gardening supplies, or just looking around, the staff is always there to help. I’ve had extensive conversations about the types of plants I’d like to have in my aquarium and the knowledgeable staff offers info and advice that is beyond impressive. I’m always offered help to carry anything heavy and today some lad came running up to take my cart inside when I was on my way to return it. You guys rock and I hope you’re paid well for your dedication.

This was an exercise in frustration.This store discriminates against the handicapped. There is no ADA accessibility.Tried to find something in the store. There are no overhead labels to find what your in search of. It was then a challenge to find someone to ask for assistance.I was looking for some herbs at the end of April. I had a bring a cart through two doors get out to their non-paved gravel nursery. We all remember what it's like to push a grocery cart through snow and slush. It's just as bad through gravel I can only imagine the exertion it would take had I had anything in the cart.If you wish to shop I suggest you bring someone with you so that they can hold open all the doors you have to go through if you're using a cart.In conclusion, if you want to work out pushing cart through doors. This is the place to come. Don't bring someone who's handicapped and if you want to get your steps in This is the place because you won't be able to find what you're looking for unless you walk the entire store.

This is the best place to buy propane. I don't exchange anymore, I take my own tanks in and get them refilled and it's way cheaper. On sale a 20lb refill is $8-9. I filled 5 tanks last visit and the kid who did it was super nice, no complaints, and insisted on loading the full ones back into my truck for me.

Great location. Larger store with a huge variety of products that you would visit a County Max for. Super clean and well organized. Staff in the main area and garden area seem to be well versed in current product and location. On the rare event they are out of an item, they are quick to check the other local stores. A+

Very disappointing trip to this location today. I get an email telling me about bulk wild birdseed the other day and I also needed a new birdbath so I went well out of my way to go there today and find no bulk seed (they don't have it at this Country Max location) and when I go outside to look for the particular birdbath I wanted, I find 3 bases but zero bowls! I went inside to tell them what I found and was told, "Yeah, seems they blow away pretty easy." WHAT??? If that's the case then they don't belong outside, move them in with the ceramic ones! It doesn't take a genius to figure that out! I've shopped at this store in the past but this is the last time I'll be going to this location!

Thee rudest employee at this location. I went in asking very basic and understandable questions about items that they might have in stock. And just nothing but attitude after every sentence. I could not have been any nicer and she just seemed like she didn't want to help me at all. I've had bad service at places but nothing like this. Maybe she was having a bad night, but if she is at all like this to other people she seriously needs to be talked to.Did not catch her name but it was 1/7/22 around 6:00PM. Older woman with red hair I believe.

Have a birthday party at Country Max. We did a 5 year old’s bday and it was amazing! The Small Animal Meet and Greet party was so much fun for the kids ages 3-7 and the parents.The party room was clean, spacious, and attractive. Lexi, the coordinator came to help us set up. She already had tables (with table cloths) and chairs set up ahead of time. They allowed us to bring in our own food, we could have pizza delivered there, and set up any type of decorations we wanted. They showed the kids 10 animals and we connected prior to decide if there were any must-see animals or any not to bring out. The young man handling the animals made sure all the kids had a chance to see and pet each one and told us information about each one, too. He really knew how to speak to kids. They provided invitations and favors, too.

A wide variety of exotic animals (reptiles, birds, fish, and mammals) with a huge selection of supplies. The enclosures are largely bioactive (even a few of the small mammals) and the isopods and other clean up crews are bred on-site. The ecological cycles of the enclosures are managed down to the microbial level , which is rarely found in such a commercial setting. All the staff are well versed in what they sell and how to properly care for them. This store is definitely worth a stop!!

Not only is everything far more affordable than PetSmart, they are very knowledgeable. My wife and I recently bought a bearded dragon from PetSmart and it was cheaper, but we found out our new addition to the family, is about 2 months old and we thought it was in the juvenile stage and were learning to treat it that way and we found out from an associate at CountryMax, that there's more care required for one before the juvenile stage and that we can't treat it %100 the same as one Luckily we don't mind the extra work, but that's not the same for everyone. And the employee's at PetSmart, admitted they didn't know the answers to a lot of our questions. We love our little guy and wouldn't trade him for anything, but I wish we went here first. I feel more confident now and am grateful we found the most important answer we needed, but I worry now about other's that are being misled and losing pets, they shouldn't have to worry about losing so soon.

Great looking interior! Went for some plants (for terrariums and an aquarium) and was impressed with their selection. Pets department girl was very helpful in getting my aquatic plants.

My absolutely favorite store. So many different products and knowledgeable staff... The staff is also very polite and helpful with any questions you may have... plus the location is absolutely perfect and I don't feel overwhelmed the layout is perfect and its sooooo huge.

Please don't purchase small pets from here. They keep their animals in tanks with pine bedding (both of these are a huge no no for their respiratory systems). I purchased 3 rats a few days ago and one came home with me pretty sick. I explained to the staff that one of my rats was sick and it was kind of brushed off as "oh they're not sick we've checked them". After reviewing the "5 day guarantee" i had to sign to purchase these animals, it made it very clear that if one of my animals is sick within the period, my only choice is to return the animal for a refund. They will not provide medication or cover any veterinary expenses. Beware of this store- they have no business caring for or selling animals.

I was so excited to use the dog wash. Out of the 2 tubs, one was absolutely filthy and covered in hair. The sprayer that the shampoos come out of weren’t labeled. So you had no idea what you were spraying your dog with. The water was cold and would not warm up and the blow dryer was cold air as well. The towels that are 2$ are super cheap and do not dry well at all. I have always gone to pet supplies in webster for my dogs bath and will continue to go there.

Great new addition to the area. However, it needs two driveways. Coming and going is very difficult with the traffic on the main road. Also, while it’s very pet friendly, dogs are peeing all over! And there are no cleanup stations.

Management was a joke, no one cared about anything, and just like every big corporation, none of these reviews even matter anyway. No one actually gets in trouble because of these. The employees are over worked, under appreciated, and Krissy, Brad, and Michele don't care as long as they are getting paid. Watching the decline of that place will be sad, nonetheless, it's not like they are going to do anything about it. They will just keep turning over new people forever. Tragic really.
