ShopRite used to be my go to supermarket until I was sold old chicken the date said sell by march 1st but I received it in a delivery order on march 6. Needless to say but I was highly disappointed. Employees are definitely not doing their jobs. I’m done with ShopRite, but for everybody else please make sure to check your dates because they are selling whatever to their customers. Updating this because Shiprite truly suck from owner, to the workers, to customer service. Following the owner’s comment on the post I went to the link where an automated customer service thanked my for sharing my issue with no resolution. I also called the number he provided, waited over a half an hour to speak to someone. I was told that they can’t do anything, I would be hearing from someone at the store. Three days I still haven’t received a call. So not only did receive expired meat, I’m out of money, and time because ShopRite giving me the run around. I definitely learned a valuable, and that’s ShopRite definitely doesn’t care about it’s customers

I worked in this store for about a year as a cashier even though I preferred a stocking or janitor job.Most of the managers were nice or civil with me even April who nearly everyone complained about.The only one who gave me issues was this assistant manager named Angie she had me work sometimes the whole shift without a break and she argued with me if I needed to use the bathroom and just was nasty to me in general and treated me like I was stupid.Besides me, I noticed she treated 2 others pretty badly too which screams prejudiced behavior.My advice to people looking for jobs is don't work here as a cashier unless you are similar to everyone else.

My store experience was terrible. I went to the Uniondale store on Friday April 12 at 08:31The teller was a short fat black woman wearing red at self check out was racist and yelled at me and was not respectful. All I wanted was her to apologize to me and was not given an apology. Then security was called and nothing was done. This whole store staff needs to be investigated.

I can’t believe I am writing this review because I’ve been shopping here for YEARS now but this past month has been such an inconvenience for me. I went here in October to buy groceries and used the self checkout service. However one of their items was not listed in the lookup menu and I had to get assistance from a representative. While the young man was very helpful he did something that resulted in me being double charged for my groceries. At the time the charge did not show on my card so I did not realize. However 3 days later the additional charge appeared on my card. I went into the Uniondale location to get assistance and have the issue resolved and was instantly met with an attitude and quickly dismissed before I could fully explain the situation. I was told I had to speak to the bookkeeper but he wasn’t going to be in for awhile so I left. I went back about 2 weeks later, still no bookkeeper and again the staff at the customer service desk were so rude and dismissive. Even with me having the receipts and proof of being overcharged. At this point I became extremely frustrated so I asked to have the bookkeeper give me a call so we could resolve this issue. Another 2 weeks went by and no call or follow up and I STILL have not been refunded for this additional charge. I called numerous times and the phones rang nonstop with no answer. Finally today I was able to speak the bookkeeper just to be told there was nothing he could do to reverse the charge and that I should go through my bank or speak with the corporate office in Jersey. I am completely at my wits end because I have been super patient and understanding for over a month and have just been given the run around. I was able to speak with someone from the Jersey who reassured me that this should have been resolved with the Uniondale location. My issue is still not resolved. I have absolutely no intention of going back to this location.

Forget about getting anything at the deli in this place. You wait longer at the counter than the entire grocery shopping. The staff in this place are rude and not helpful at all. Their is only 1 nice guy that is the guy who stocks cheese and butter on the weekend very friendly and helpful.

MY grocery store! Great prices, good employees, rarely have long lines, plenty of shopping carts (though there are no collection spots outside to leave them after you load your car) and parking, I just love Shoprite! Still loving my ShopRite months after doing this original review! And months later, still will give the same review though the chicken selection hasn't been great lately, but I figure that's due to supply issues, not ShopRite.UPDATE: 3/2023: Still my go-to grocery store!8/2023: Still my spot! Though a few things I wanted were completely out of stock; when prices go up, many folks seem to start loving store brand stuff like I always have, and lower priced name brands like I always have (i.e., Ragu and Prego people suddenly like Francesco Rinaldi!)! But otherwise, decent sales and prices have gone up but are still better than most (i.e., Stop n Shop).May '24: still my go to for grocery shopping, still gets 5 stars, prices are still much better than 'S&S' and those local spots.

Horrible store. There are some good people working there but I will never give them my business again. Did an online order for the deli. Twenty minutes past the pick up time my order isn't there. In the mean time myself and another customer are watching the two slowest moving employees I've ever seen in my life wiping their their sweat and faces with their gloved hands and go back to handling the food wearing the same gloves. Totally disgusting!!! Both I and the other customer walked out. Imagine what you don't see that's going on? If you live in the area go to the store in Bethpage. Much cleaner, fully staffed deli dept. that hustles. ShopRite's are individually owned and you can tell the difference as to which owners care and which do not.

Love the local grocery store and it carries all the items I like for half the price. We have been living here for 20+ years and never experiences such exhausting racist bigot white people. Had my local arguments with these racist, but seriously get a grip or take a longer trip to the other shop rite if you can’t stand people of color!

A couple months ago, I saw a male deli worker, who was tall, skinny, bald head, wearing glasses, drop a whole large honey turkey breast on the floor. He tried to package it and put it back until a customer said something.A couple days ago, I was about to order deli meat, when I saw the same above described deli worker with his hands to his mouth coughing all over his disposable gloves and constantly pulling up his pants. He asked me if I wanted something and didn't even change his gloves so I left.Today, I walk in and see the same above mentioned deli worker constantly pulling up his pants contaminating his disposable gloves. I asked him if he can change his gloves and he did it. He decided to eat some of the left over meat from what i was buying, right in front of me like it was no big deal. He raised it up over his head and dropped it in his mouth as if it was a bon bon. I told him that I didn't want it and ask another worker to help me. Then the guy started cursing at me. This guy doesn't care because he kept it up in front of the manager. I don't like to complain but that guy needs to eat on his lunch break. Who knows what this guy is doing when no one is watching.I made a complaint with management and the nys department of agriculture which handles supermarkets.

So today I used the curbside pickup. I've used several times before at this location, but now it's getting worse. Now they have to have a security guard watch you like a hawk while putting the items in the car. I didn't like that, made me feel like a criminal for using curbside pickup.

I located most of the sale items that I was looking for. Sadly, my first interaction with an employee was at the butcher area. Since there was no signage by the various beef roasts, I wanted to confirm that the ones I was looking at were the ones on sale. The butcher gave a sarcastic smile and went on to preach how no one takes the time to read the circular and continued with his speech. He made feel like I would not want to go back there. My second negative interaction was at the register. I was billed for 24 bottles of detergent when I bought 2. The cashier asked the supervisor for help. Once completed, I questioned what was rung up as it looked incorrect. She was extremely abrasive and threw the receipt. Although convenient, I will not go back.

I used to love coming to shop here. It was very convenient to pickup items at Walmart and then come to do my grocery shopping. Recently, they've instituted a policy where you can't enter the store with any merchandise from Walmart. Sorry, but if I have to go back to my car to unload, I'm not coming into your store. I've been a customer for years and really appreciated the way they handled the pandemic, but I am not a thief and I'm not going to jump through hoops to shop here because other people are.

Its a huge grocery store with a lot of selection however, the items I went in for were not priced on the shelf or marked on the items themselves. I had to get to the cashier to find out how much things cost. Also, signing up for a store card seems harder than most places. You cant just do it at the register so i passed on that. Bit it was nice to see they had a little like food court-ish area with coffee and pizza. I didnt get anything but it was cute to see. I wish there were baskets when i entered, i had to walk over to the register to find a shopping basket.Good varied selection of items though. I found most of what i was looking for.

Treat their customers like criminals if they happen to shop in Walmart prior to entering. I was sent across the parking lot in the rain with my Walmart items prior to being allowed in the store. The convenience of shopping here has disappeared. I will never come back.

Store was neat and tidy. I actually found everything I was looking for in one trip (some were specialty holiday foods)! I certainly will be shopping here more often. Prices were very good on sale items, beating out Stop & Shop on a lot of items. The regular price items were on par with other stores in the area. Parking spaces were generously wide and finding a spot was easy on a Thursday afternoon. While it was a bit crowded check-out was fast. We found an open cashier in about one minute and swiftly completed our transaction. Plenty of variety as this is a large store. I highly recommend a visit.

I was a little disappointed i know the family took great pride in the store at one point but i don't know what happened. The meat department was a mess the fish department was uninviting seafood looked dried out no ice on anything. Workers moral seemed sapped not a good experience and have been coming here for years. Smh
