Mom’s Savona Diner is one of the country style best restaurants I have been to. I believe it is run by family owned business. The ambiance is good and gives a feel of vintage style food far breakfast. As far as the food is concerned, you will not have any problem. You can also find ham steak which is equivalent to Waffle house country ham. Well cured and tasty.If you are a vegetarian, you’re options would be less. But definitely a must go restaurant. Only cash or check accepted.

When my mother and I came into this diner there was only 1 clean table and that was by the door. Also, the hamburger that was requested medium was more rare than cooked. The waitress still had not cleaned the other tables until after we got our food not noticing that our cups were empty, then waited until we were putting our coats on to ask us if we wanted refills. I know that my mother and I will not be returning.Hope you have a blessed day.

We come here at least three times a month. We have had run ins with the wait staff before but tonight was the last time we will be here. We waited for 20 minutes and didn't even get acknowledged. People that came in after we did were waited on and their orders were taken and we didn't even get drinks. Found menus by going to get them ourselves. Women at the cash register complained that we had the nerve to get our own menus. After the wait and not one waitress even said hi we left. We waited because they were busy, but not to even let us know they would be with us. We will not be back. As we left people were appaled as to the way we were treated and made comments. There was four of us 2 in the their 80s and 2 in the their 60s. It's not like we were causing any trouble. Just plain rude and nasty wait staff.

You know how everyone says their small hometown diner is the best, but they're all just kind of the same? Not this one! I hadn't eaten there since I was a teenager growing up in Savona in the 90s. But my family and I had been touring small diners in the area and figured we'd go back to my old hometown and give Mom's Savona Diner a try. They did not disappoint. The chicken wings were delicious, and haven't gone up in price like literally everywhere else, and you get a full dozen. The taco salad is enormous. The spaghetti sauce is homemade. The peanut butter pie is fantastic! In summary: my small hometown diner is better than your small hometown diner!

The food was amazing and the hippie looking cook was very pleasant and checked in on us where our waitress was very rude and was no where in sight. I had to go look for her just to have her get my bill ready. I felt like the waitress didn’t even deserve the tip I gave her. I made sure to tip the helpful cook twice as much as I gave the waitress because he was more attentive to our experience.

We were recommended to try this location by my sister while we were in Bath visiting so we could try somewhere other than our normal go to spot in town. When walking in I noticed that they were a little short handed and I think our server was also cooking the food as well. This came through in her award winning attitude and personality we were greeted with. I ordered the steak and eggs and requested the steak medium rare. It came out well done. The eggs and the home fries were decent though. They also did not have any signs saying that they were cash only until you got to the register. So if you don't have cash you have to go down the street to the ATM. I'll stick to old faithful when I come back home to visit.

The servers make this hometown diner a pleasure. The food is of the yummy comfort variety, and consistently good. If you're looking for a reasonably priced meal, this is a good choice.Kid-friendliness: Families with kids will feel comfortable here.

Server seemed put off when my 88 yr old Grandmother interacted with her. Got kinda racist vibe. Wife ordered some sort of steak dinner and it was literally like shoe leather, lol. I am glad I don't live in that area. Won't be eating there again, though that's for sure. I give 3 stars for food and atmosphere as I don't like to put an entire place down for behavior of a single person. Unfortunately, it was the only person I had interaction with.

Ordered liver and onions with bacon. One piece of liver with onions that were mostly burned and one slice of bacon. It came with corn that was dried out and tasteless. The salad was not bad but I never did see the roll that it said came with it!My wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and got a fried one instead.When I went to pay, on the counter was a note stating no debit or credit card?? Lucky I had cash,should post that on door on way in!

In 1966 I was a student at Penn College of Technology. I lived near Batavia NY and sometimes took the bus to school on Sunday nights. The 3 1/2 hour trip by car, took 6 hours by bus. The bus made a regular stop at The Savona Dinner. Being an artist, that stop always put me in mind of the painting, "Nighthawks by Edward Hopper". In 2016 while heading south, I took a slight detour and was pleasantly surprised to see she was still there and thriving. On my way to the races in Watkins Glen, reliving another youthful experience, about a month ago I stop in again. The Savona Diner is a classic local diner with the kind of food you'd expect. Robust, delicious and generous servings. Love the homemade rye bread. The waitresses are friendly and quick in their attention and with their wit. The gal that waited on my friend and me reminded me a little of Flo on the TV show Alice. If you're in the area on I-86 you should stop and enjoy this classic. I hope to be stopping in on the 18th on my way to a woodworking show in PA. I hope restaurants like Mom's Savona Dinner will always be there. It's an American Classic. No Mcdonalds for me!

Waitstaff was good. The restaurant was clean, but the food was just OK.It wasn't bad, but it's also nothing to write home about.Hasbrowns are McDonalds style pressed wafers and greasy. I actually liked them, but the rest of my family did NOT expect hasbrowns like McDonalds.We had omelets and pancakes, and again, they were just OK.Waitress kept our coffee full and was attentive. Food came out reasonably fast. If you're hungry, it will work, but just don't expect a spectacular home cooked breakfast...

Stopped on a road trip and found this place, food was good. Our waitress was completely rude and did not seem happy we were in the establishment. From the moment we sat down to when we left she made us feel not welcomed.Dietary restrictions: egg beaters were on the menu yet when we asked for them they said they do not have them.
