I love shopping at the Saranac Lake Grand Union. They have great produce with Amanda and Penny working daily to keep things in order. Also like the meat department and grocery too. I don't buy non foods or general merchandise at the store. Some of the prices are too high but they have fantastic sales!!! Great service and great variety.😊

A few years ago this was a *terrible* Tops Supermarket and I'd never go in. Coolers nit hold temps, spoiled produce, dusty shelves... All bad.The new management is *amazing*. Well stocked shelves at good prices. Produce looking fresh. And every cooler and freezer at recommended temperatures. The employees seem a lot happier too.

First time shopping experience for us. This is a well stocked grocery store and will serve your everyday needs. Clean and orderly with a nice produce section. You can also run next door to Nori's and pick up other essential items on your list. The added convenience of having these two stores nearby is a huge time saver.

Cashier was extremely rude, obviously didn't want to be there. Wouldn't sell beer to a 61 year old man because his 50 something wife didn't have ID. Pretty sad if you ask me.. would give a 0 if it were possible.

Good place to grab what you need, very conveniently located. Not a high end supermarket with extreme selections, but definitely has the essentials plus more. They carry Boars Head meats in the deli, so thats a huge plus and exclusive to Grand Union in this area. Friendly and helpful front end staff.

Had a lovely trip to this store. Great sales on fruit. The produce manager was most helpful about my questions.I cut my finger on a shelf and the checkout person got me alcohol and a bandage and someone got sent to file off the rough spot.Anyone with a complaint just ask! These folks want to do their jobs well.

The days of a friendly face at the register from a clerk who knows you by name and “would you like paper or plastic?” are long gone. As other reviewers have posted, Josiah wouldn’t lay a finger to help a customer bag there groceries. If I had been shopping and looking to check out, I would actively avoid his line. I had my 3year old son and 2year old daughter with me once, hands full with both of them and still, this boy would not lift a finger to assist. It has unfortunately spread to the remaining cashier grumps at Grand Union. I had cashed at a Wegmans in my youth and this kid wouldn’t have lasted for a week with this work ethic. All I can say is that the benefits of having a cashier in a world of self checkout are lost on this place. Their jobs are going the way of the dodo, hopefully, they can bring their current work ethic to use elsewhere.

5 stars would be : they used to get the glaceau Vitamin water.The 6 packs are on sale & singles are $2/ 1 bottle. & of course my flavor is the only one that appears a little empty. Today the Dragon fruit was missing several, but of course there were 9 singles that I started to put in my basket. PROBLEM : each bottle in a 6 pack is a dollar $1. In singles they're $2 ... why would I want to do that ?☆☆ Is there someone to look into this plz ?ThanksAC

This store changes it's name back and forth more than Elizabeth Taylor Married!! It's on the pricey side. Unfortunately many who don't drive have no choice. I only come here if I HAVE to as in, every thing else is closed or doesn't have what I want. The Building also needs some major upgrades!! Freezers,Coolers, flooring

I guess they don't bag your groceries anymore. I even got charged for a bag (Mary G.) I asked for and had to walk out carrying my groceries in my hands. Today Josiah rang my food thru, tossed it all to the end of the register and asked if I wanted a bag. I said yes. He opened the bag, shook it and tossed it on my groceries for me to bag. I'm done with this place.....

The meat department is not the best quality.Then they are always out of sale products.Running to other grocery stores to get what you need is crazy.TOPS was bad ,but not as bad as. The Grand Union.

While the inventory was slightly improved it is basically the same limited selection but with higher prices. No seafood department, no bakery, no floral department, very limited produce department.

Convenient location as I have no vehicle, but food not always fresh, particularly the lettuce. Good to go to for snack foods in the evening 😄
