Abysmal. I brought my black and white sheepadoodle in for a simple bath, blowout and full brush. Not even a groom – – I have a groomer I’m loyal to, and she gets groomed every four weeks. I was charged about $70 because she’s 65 pounds – – which I was fine with. The young man with the nose ring, didn’t seem especially excited about having her as a client. When I picked her up, I could tell that her head and ears weren’t fully dried and her tail wasn’t brushed out at all. I had to ask him to take her in the back and brush her tail out, which he reluctantly did. Her body was fluffy – – but she felt coarse, not soft. And her white parts (like her feet) still looked dirty.I was looking for a place to take my dog twice a month between grooms that was closer to home since the place I go to is up in Nesconset. Unfortunately, it will not be Petco. The quality of the service and the vibe I got from the staff was not acceptable for me. That is a shame for the company, since not only are they losing about $150 a month, I also buy toys for her while I’m in there.

Really good experience. The groomer Charlotte took care of our dog super well and we loved the haircut, he is a very hairy dog so is not that easy to get a good cut all the time. So happy in finding something easy to book and with good quality near us.

I asked for my dog to have a shape up/ clean up with a trim. When I picked him up he was still wet, the groomer only trimmed his belly the rest of him does not look touched besides his nails. Im very disappointed. I spent $160 for a nail trim that I could have done myself.

We always try to schedule our visits with the same two groomers. They are always very kind, friendly and attentive to my pet. They always do a great job and I am always pleased with the service.

Our groomer is helpful, polite and loving with our pet she also does an excellent job on our dogs grooming we were very frustrated having Mobil service to our home private groomers none were able to do what our groomer does now at petco we are extremely pleased !

we were walkins at the end of the day to get my dogs nails clipped, they were very helpful , helping me look up her rabies vac, and did a good job on her nails and very nice the entire timewhich is not always the experience that i have had there I didnt recognize them from before but they were just exceptional

I usually take my dog to Ooh La La Posh Pets but I wanted to have a backup place just in case so I made an appt and sent my dog in. When she goes to Ooh La La she goes in super excited and comes out still super happy. When she went in she was happy. She came out absolutely terrified and uncontrollably shaking. All she got was a trim!!! It was not her first grooming and she was shaking! I will never go back here. She didn't even look nice. I recommend Ooh La La poch pets to everyone. They are the best and she comes out smelling wonderful and super happy and beautiful! I don't recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money

I brought my pup, Clementine in for a grooming. The groomer, Charlotte came out to get my pup and was very polite and I could tell that she was an animal lover. I am going to ask for her the next time. Good experience for both me & my pup!!

HORRIFIC customer service in this location. Immature and UNPROFESSIONAL from the store manager who tried to tell me I never had an appt there and the employees in grooming dept. who refused to look at my text proving I DID HAVE AN APPT. I've been going to Petco for 30 years and never met such combative employees.Reply to below: My only expectation was to have my dog groomed but I was met by a RUDE woman at the grooming desk and glad my dog wasnt groomed. The young man with the nose rings and mohawk hair-do was sticking up for her telling me DONT GROOM HER DOG then to me leave the store before I call the police! According to the manager, Alana, they called the police and made a report claiming I refused to leave the store!! Alana added that I am banned from the store. After shopping, grooming, getting vaccinations for the past 30 years I was told I cant get any services there! What kind of training did they receive berceuse I saw no customer service, just 5 angry young people yelling at a senior citizen.

Pup went in for a nail clipping. He can be quite a difficult and he was, took 2 stylists to get tye job done. They didn't give up and they did amazing.

I made and appointment for the first time online through the Petco website. I thought the appt was for a certain day. I called to cancel because I didn't have the vaccination papers. I only had them on my phone, and the other reviews state you need it printed out. When I called a young lady answered the phone, she realized that I had the wrong date (sorry I'm human) she began to laugh almost uncontrollably. She then proceeded to tell me that I should make an appointment sooner so he can get groomed. I told her he has rottweiler fur so it's not an emergency. She told me that's no big deal and started to laugh uncontrollably. She said that I have plenty of time to get the vaccinations before his appt. Continues to laugh and after that I decided to cancel the appt. I told her the reason was because how rudely she was laughing and how it was completely unprofessional. Going to follow these other review recommendations and go to pet smart.

Maybe I would give a higher rating if they ever actually seen my dog. I always took my dog to pet smart in lake grove by the smith haven mall but I wanted to start using pet co because it’s much closer to my house. The first time I attempted to get my dogs nails cut they turned me down because I only had a digital copy of his rabies paper on my phone that the vet emailed me (pet smart accepts digital copys) so I took blame and just kept it in mind for the next time. A few months later I try again with it printed out but was turned down because I was told I need to make an appointment online and they had no time to cut my dogs nails. So again I drove all the way to pet smart where you don’t need an appointment for a nail trim. The the third and final attempt I go on the website to make an appointment but the web site doesn’t allow you to make an appointment for a nail trim it says that it is a walk in only service. So I call up pet co in Patchogue to make an appointment over the phone I press 1 on the automated system for grooming the phone rings and someone picks up I asked to make about an appointment and was told “ I can’t help with that you called the wrong number. You have to call back and press 1 for grooming.” I explained that I did press 1 and took a screenshot on my phone to prove it. I was then told that my phone must have something wrong with it and to call back and press the right buttons this time. Needless to say I didn’t call back and won’t be back. If they are to lazy to take walk ins for nail trims and are that rude to customers just imagine how they must treat the dogs people drop off for grooming. I would hate to see what goes on in the back room.

We have been bringing our dog for grooming at this location since we got him. Everyone there is very nice and treats our dog as if it was their own. We have used multiple groomers at this location and they all have done a great job with our dog.

I had the worst experience with the groomers in Petco. I scheduled an appointment and the groomer asked me to bring my rabies shot document for my dog. I did! I had everything. I was taking my dog to PetSmart for the last 4 years to get groomed with no issues. My dog has always had a Banfield wellness and insurance, so I stay on top of getting everything done. When I arrive for my dog's appointment at Petco Grooming the staff was very rude to me. I waited 45 min before I was acknowledged. The lady asked me for my dog's paperwork, so I gave it to her and she read it over for 10 min. After that she told me that other clients were waiting outside ahead of me, so I waited another 20 min. I had a feeling that the groomer was very racist. She looked at my dog and said that she couldn't groom him. I was so upset! I asked her why, so she called another groomer from the back and a guy approached me. He told me that he didn't have time as well. So what was the reasoning of me scheduling an appointment and receiving reminder text messages. I called PetSmart 15min later after almost being in tears. The groomer from PetSmart asked me to come right in & they did a marvelous job. I was trying to change to Petco because the location is closer to my home. The PetSmart location is in Commack but it's worth the travel. I'm so disappointed in Petco in Patchogue on Waverly on Sunrise Hwy.

I called to get a price for a bath and trim for a golden retriever. The price was much higher than other groomers in the area and the woman said that they would tell me what she needed done. She didn't know that she was talking to someone that had worked as a groomer's assistant and also, since it's my money I decide what she needs.
