Still did not receive a refund or any correspondence.Also they didn’t ship when they said they would after I called to confirm they would. Would never buy online from this place again.

If you are a fish keeper this place will blow your mind. Not the largest place ever, but still super cool.Some of the fish we had never seen in person before. Kid friendly. Reasonably priced fish too. Kind service. Look for the tank in the back with the big question mark on it.

Absolutely one of the most spectacular aquarium shops in NY, perhaps all of main land US. (Don't know about Hawaii, never visited. )Their coral selection is outstanding.And I never knew, how many varieties of Clownfish, existed.The staff, are always extremely helpful, and tremendously patient.Highly recommended, at the very least a must see.Almost like visiting a zoological aquarium, completely free.They should charge an entrance fee, well worth every penny. 💜💙💜🐟🐉🐳🐚🦀Extraordinarily highly recommendedAbsolutely Like 🤙👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤙💙💜What's not to Love, of the Motions of the Oceans. With 2 unacceptable online orders and no response in a week I had to inform others to stay away. I’m not sure why they sell fish online not in stock in store. My first order was an adult Achilles tang which was $400 and only 2 to 2 1/2” big mind you they have a different price listed for juveniles. I should’ve learned my lesson here but I ordered a burgess butterfly a few weeks later and the order was canceled because they wouldn’t get it in stock. What’s the point of having fish “in stock” when nothing is in stock to being with.

I have been in and out of the hobby over the years, but one thing that has stayed consistent is my love for this store. Living in the city means that finding a source for good livestock and supplies can be hard to come by, and this place delivers. There are definitely times I drop by Manhattan Aquariums when I’m not looking for anything in particular, and leave just feeling inspired and excited for what I might want to plan for next. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and prices are reasonable given the location.

Amazing staff--super knowledgable, engaging, and helpful. Have had some corals from them that have done well, but a bit of a limited selection in-store. However, i've had bad luck with fish from them--1 for 4 with one neon goby doing well, but fairy wrasse, tailspot blenny, and damsel not lasting more than 2 weeks each. Unsure if they were in-store long enough to adapt to captivity or something.

Manhattan Aquarium is where i first got hooked on reef tanks. Staff has always been very informative over the years.Recently Mario installed a Neptune Apex complete system. I couldn’t be happier. His attention to detail, knowledge and professionalism was much appreciated.Thanks again Mario and the staff at MA !!!!You guys are the best !!!!

Bought a fish without realizing it had severe fin/tail rot. Its body became covered in white spots and its fins seemed to deteriorate the same day I purchased him. I called and asked for advice and was told there was nothing I could do, but could have a refund. I'm so glad I decided to treat him anyway because after about a week he really turned into a gorgeous fish! I would shop here again, but be sure to look at the fish in detail before taking it home.

Manhattan Aquariums has an amazing selection of tanks and equipment. 💕 They have plenty of fish and corals to pick and choose from. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about a wide category of saltwater tanks. This was my first visit, and I will definitely be going back. 💯 Keep it up guys!

Greg and Dom have been incredibly value additive and thoughtful during all stages of the process.From day 1 when I knew nothing, Dom has been amazingly patient with me, answering all of my basic questions and helping me ease into the hobby. During the information gathering stage, Dom did not rush me and gave me plenty of space and time to get comfortable before offering to help set up the tank.During the tank set up stage, I had a change of mind with the tank, so Greg and Dom had to come break down the old tank and install the new tank. They were an amazing team that accomplish the goal flawlessly in a single day. Greg is an incredibly gifted artist when it comes to creating saltwater tank live rock scape. Dom even came during his off day to help set up a tank - for that, I am forever grateful.I know the journey has not ended yet; in fact, it has just begun. The duo has already begun thinking of ideas to help me fill out the tank and even going out of their way to help me secure exotic fishes that may be hard to get.I am looking forward to continuing this great journey with Greg and Dom at Manhattan Aquariums. For anyone looking to get into this daunting hobby, Greg and Dom are your guys. They will make sure you are well taken care of at all stage of the process.

Disappointment. All the frag tanks were ridden with aptasia the glass was dirty, and the tanks were full of detritus. Even the floating coral viewer was covered in salt buildup and couldn’t be used without cleaning it. The staff was unable to answer any of my questions. There were dead and sick fish. Overall, the store could use some help.😢. Some maintenance and attention to detail could completely turn the store around.

Had the worst online ordering experience. Do not order online from them. Zero communication on the shipment and could not give me a tracking # or shipment date when asked. Ended up canceling the order after a week of trying to communicate with them. PLEASE save your money and spend it somewhere else.

Joe Caparatta- owner of Unique Corals has been trying to find someone knowledgeable and talented to run his NYC store. Let me tell you Greg has arrived from a store out on the island. You have an issue with your system; he has the solutions. Go to the store and check out the main reef tank. Most colorful, vibrant thriving tank I have ever seen Anywhere!! Run on over and check it out. You can thank me later.

Melissa Helped me pick out a tank and I asked for the the one that was on display. She completely lied and sold me a tank bigger in size just to sell her product because the smaller one was out of stock. Seems like this place is just out there to make money and disregards the customers experience.

I got a small water plant here which is very healthy. The owner is knowledgeable and patient to explain what are good/bad to fishes. The price of fish looks kinda expensive, but fishes are all in good condition so probably well worth it.

I’ve been coming here for over 3 years. Every time I go here the experience depends on if I get help from Melissa or someone else. Anyone else will give me a warm experience but whenever I get helped by Melissa she’s pretty condescending and incorrect. Melissa did not know the name of one of the fish I wanted purchase. On top of that she wasn’t able to net them for me because she would disrupt the display and “make a mess” if she tried. She further added that she has been in the hobby for 9 years and she can guarantee that those fish are impossible to catch. Talk about LAZY AND RUDE. The other times she helped me and I did purchase something. She would Always add an extra fish to the price and charge me more than I needed to be charged. We will not be coming back. She’s clearly missing something from her life. One day she’ll be happy tho. But after 3 years is there any hope?Other fish stores net out freshwater fish in displays and sell them. Lets get with the times.
