While visiting the Finger Lakes, our second time and now one of our favorite areas, my fiance and I booked a couple of tastings. We booked a tasting and vineyard tour at Silver Thread and were so delighted. We were fortunate to be the only people who reserved a tour so we had the pleasure of having owner Shannon provide the tour. She was so lovely and informative. We learned things about wine making, grape vine growth, and the Finger Lakes area and history. Shannon's passion for their vineyard and craft was an added bonus to our visit. Our wine tasting took place in a beautiful room surrounded by the vineyard wines. We had five tastings and a delicious local goat cheese served with pumpkin pepitas. Shannon allowed us to taste an additional wine while we were talking about our favorite wines. I highly recommend visiting Silver Thread and enjoy a tour of the vineyard!

My group of 6 had a great experience at Silver Thread. Shannon was extremely knowledgeable of their wines and was a gracious host. Can’t wait to visit again!

What a hidden gem! We had a wonderful experience. The wines were all truly excellent - we didn't have a bad one. The view was incredible. The people were great and spent the time to talk us through the wine and history of the winery. Not to be missed! We ended up leaving wine club members and can't wait to visit again!

I’m so happy we found this spot! We happened upon it somewhat randomly while doing a typical weekend wine tasting adventure. This place is such a breath of fresh air from some of the super touristy spots. You get much more attentive, personalized service and the owner (who did our tasting) was happy to talk to us about their methods, background, and other great information about what they do. I also loved that their tastings come with a cheese pairing because, after a few tastings, a little snack is definitely necessary! Really happy with the wines here and bought one to take home. It also has a gorgeous view from their tasting porch!

Silver Thread is one of the true hidden gems in terms of wineries in the Finger Lakes. I've been visiting for quite a few years and have never been disappointed. The owners Shannon and Paul are great people. I recently enjoyed a private indoor tasting in their wine cellar library room with Shannon. She's incredibly knowledgeable and it is always great to taste through their lineup with her. They are a small winery and going out of their way to ensure safety of all guests during this time with reservations being required for wine tastings. It is absolutely worth it though and helps ensure not only everyone's safety but also that you are able to get a highly personalized tasting experience. If you have the opportunity to try several of their single vineyard rieslings side by side you should take advantage of it. It is fascinating to see just how different each vineyard expresses itself in the wine. I really can't recommend this winery enough. The wines and experience are always fantastic. I've introduced several people to Silver Thread over the years and they've always loved it as well.

We had a bottle of Silver Threads Winery at a restaurant in Kinsman Ohio that we liked so when we were planning our trip to Seneca Lake we decided we wanted to find Silver Threads. We scheduled a tasting and tour. Shannon (co-owner) led our tour and tasting. She was very welcoming and took her time to explain some history of the winery operations and the grapes and the Seneca Lake area. She explained their environmentally conscious practices of their operations including solar powered operations. She took her time with us and answered any questions we had and treated us to a friendly and comfortable wine tasting. Will definitely stop in when we're back in the Seneca Lake area. They are small and intimate, so I recommend you schedule your tasting and/or tour. Pass over the "big operations" and give them a try.

Silver Thread was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Colin was so knowledgeable, nice and catered to our every need. We came back the next day for a vineyard tour and one of the co-owners gave us a complete tour of their operation and answered every random question I had. The only vineyard we visited multiple times in our visit. If you can only visit one vineyard in the finger lakes region this is it, the hand-picked wines were delicious. The best part is the extremely friendly staff, I cannot say kind enough words about the owners and staff. Pair it with amazing views and you have a one of a kind vineyard. 11/10!

Edit: Summer 2021. They now have a ramp to the front door (upstairs).Edit: There is now wheelchair access to the restroom downstairs and the building is wheelchair accessible. The wine is still excellent, the people are still friendly, and the view is amazing as ever!Very good wines but not wheelchair accessible. There is a step (about 6 inch) at front door. The restrooms are downstairs. However, if you can make it in the wine is excellent, the people are very friendly, and the view is amazing.

This is my happy place. Every experience we have had there has been amazing! We have been going here every year for a long time and that won't stop anytime soon! They are doing amazing things for the environment and our taste buds! You should absolutely add this to your wine trail visits! In fact make it the first stop so your palette can truly experience the quality of their Resiling!

We loved our visit! They are only taking two group tasting reservations (for flights)p hour for the back deck, with a view of the lake. It is a very personal experience. There are also a couple of tables up front in the shade for no-reservation picnics/glass of wine. Really relaxing visit, gracious service, highly recommended.

Silver Thread Vineyard is outstanding! Their wine is delicious! If you enjoy rieslings, this is the place to go! The owners are fantastic, friendly, and just all-around good people. The tasting room is small, so I would recommend calling ahead! Cheers!

One of our favorite spots. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. We were able to enjoy our flights and/or individual glasses at a picnic table and the kids could be outside in the grass. Glad we found this hidden gem.

When our daughter asked for a glass of water with lemon only to be told "this is not a bar" is rude. Shannon Brock and an older woman did not make us feel welcome whatsoever. But to take back cheese from our plate after it was served to us .....being told it was because we were only supposed to get 1 speaks volumes. Did you re-serve that small piece of cheese to the next customers!!! You opened both packages and we touched both packages. WOW!!! Shame on you both! Treat people better.

We decided to visit after doing a virtual tasting. This small vineyard is a standout in high quality wines. Some of it owes to the special location on the East Side of Seneca in the "Banana Belt" of the Finger Lakes, but most of it owes to the ownership and management methodology. We did the Library Tasting which was loads of fun. We spent about an hour in the tasting room and took 4 bottles home, some older some recent. We probably would have stayed even longer had we not been on our way out of town. Definitely this is in my list of top producers in the region and we hope to visit again soon!

Silver Thread is one of my favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes. The wines are beautiful, and so is the property! Peter and Janice are very friendly and welcoming! Colin is quite knowledgeable on their wines and the property, and took time to talk with us about each wine that we tasted. We also were fortunate to be able to meet one of the owners, Shannon! She chatted with us for a bit during our tasting and even showed us the barrel room! I recommend this winery to everyone visiting the Finger Lakes, and cannot wait to go back!

Visiting Silver Thread is always an enjoyable experience! We learn more about their wines, and beautiful Seneca Lake area, every time we visit. It is a friendly, welcoming relaxing atmosphere. They have helped us learn more, and thus support, other businesses in the surrounding area i.e. cheese producers, eateries, etc.

Silver Thread is one of our favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes. Because of their size and focus on quality they are able to provide more personal service and a variety of experiences. Definitely plan to visit here & make a reservation for the best experience. All of their wines are enjoyable, and the setting of the tasting room overlooking the lake is beautiful.

Silver thread is a quaint winery that provides quality wines and tremendous service. Colin provided suggestions, water, and water for our dogs upon arrival. This winery is a bit off the main road but we'll worth the stop. Views of the Seneca lake can be seen. Shade is abundant. You won't regret a stop here if your looking for a calm laid back winery experience.

No one was there. Beautiful day outside and they wouldn’t let us do a tasting without an online reservation. You could go in and buy wine, but that’s it. We even asked if we could make a reservation on line since no one was there and she said no. The only winery in Seneca lake with this rule. Every other winery so accommodating and friendly. Don’t bother to stop. Won’t be back, won’t recommend, too many other wonderful wineries with friendly service. Go to Wagner next door. You won’t be disappointed.

Shannon and Paul, passionate committed owner winemakers, exhibit care and attention to detail producing great dry wines. It is evident in every glass you taste. On my first visit I became a wine club member, a phenelogist: a wonderful way to learn and share and enjoy wine.Shannon and Paul's excitement is contagious. They readily share their expertise; they are warm and friendly teacher/communicators. I find during each visit I learn to do more than just taste wine, I learn to appreciate it even more.

Down a gravel road and over a [very small] wooden bridge is Silver Thread. Tucked away along coast of Seneca lake a beautiful tasting room with great views and let us not forget, great wine (Silver Thread was one of our selected wines for our wedding). Stop in for the Riesling flight!

A great place to experience the beautiful whites the Fingerlakes has to offer. They have single vineyard Rieslings and some vertical tastings as well (depending on the library reserve). It’s amazing to compare and contrast different years or vineyards; highlighting the amazing variations that exist! Furthermore Silver Thread is environmentally friendly with solar panels. Nothing better than a glass of Riesling on the porch overlooking the vines.

This vineyard is a place of joy - Shannon & Paul are some of the very best growers in the region and you can taste the craft and care that go into every vintage. A Must Visit if you’re on the east side of Seneca :)

We did a virtual wine tasting for my mother's birthday. Shannon was fantastic from start to finish - answering all my initial questions, helping to set it up, and then hosting a wonderful zoom for us. We tasted 3 wines and she walked us through tasting them, trying the wines with the various foods each of us had at our different homes, and answering out many and varied questions. Everyone had a great time and it was a wonderful family activity we could do from Texas, Virginia, and Pennsylvania - staying COVID safe, seeing family and enjoying wine!

Amazing experience. This wine was fantastic!!! Truly a hidden gem and an ethnically sourced vineyard is also a plus. The company holds a lot of values in the wine making process which make the wine taste that much better!

My wife and I came through with the Experience Finger Lakes Tour for our first anniversary. Shannon, one of the co-owners, welcomed us as if we were being indoctrinated into the family. Educational, fun, and delicious! A must see on the Seneca Wine Trail
