I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kenoza Hall with my husband, and it was truly an amazing experience. Nestled in upstate New York, just a short two-hour drive from NYC, this charming establishment exceeded all expectations. The food and cocktails at their restaurant were absolutely fantastic, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes. The ambiance was cozy and romantic, making every meal a memorable experience. The rooms were beautifully appointed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. It was the ideal setting for a relaxing getaway. The spa was a highlight of the stay, with luxurious treatments that left me feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. And during the summer months, the outdoor pool provided a welcome escape from the heat. But what truly sets Kenoza Hall apart is its exceptional staff. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their warmth and hospitality made me feel right at home.Overall, I've had the pleasure of visiting Kenoza Hall twice already, and I can't wait for the next opportunity to return. It's truly a hidden gem in upstate New York, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.

Spent a girls weekend at Kenoza Hall and it was the perfect location for our trip. The atmosphere was perfect, the spa services were top notch as were the wellness classes included in your room rate. The staff were wonderful especially Saudy the general manager and Trinity(one of the restaurant staff) They went above and beyond to answer questions and treat us well. Everyone brought a friendly, warm energy that created the perfect cozy environment. Fresh cookies baked daily and constant access to fresh citrus water, tea and coffee. Could not sing enough praises to express how perfect this inn is.

We just spent an amazing girl’s weekend at Kenoza. Our weekend started with a welcoming smile from Juan and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. We stayed in the bungalows that were spacious, clean, private, accommodating and surrounded by beautiful nature. Many members of our group took part in journaling, yoga, hiking and of course massages. Every staff member including Rebecca, Eugene, Stephanie, Julie, and Bridie of course Rich our waiter were so kind, and genuinely cared to make us happy. This is a great place and we will be back again!

Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, delivering impeccable service with genuine warmth and professionalism. The accommodations were luxurious, providing a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. And let's talk about the food - simply divine! Try the Breakfast Potatoes, you will not regret it. All in all, our experience here exceeded all expectations, and we can't wait to return!

Kenoza Hall is one of the most beautiful and tasteful places we have visited. We stayed in a king bungalow for two nights and it was cozy, practical and decorated beautifully. We had our two year old with us for the weekend and they were super accommodating. They had a pack and play set up upon our arrival along with a little notebook, colored pencils & a stuffed animal with a special note for her.On Saturday they had the fire going outside on the bluestone with complimentary lunch (grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, chili and oysters) as well as hot apple cider, hot chocolate and tastings of bourbons to either have alone or add to our beverages. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, our view from our personal porch was perfect and the customer service was top notch. Every employee we encountered was friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond. The cookies at the front desk were delicious (make sure you take a few, they’re addicting).Overall we had an amazing stay and can’t wait to go back without our toddler so we can enjoy more of the activities and the spa for a romantic weekend!!

The perfect getaway. Saudy and his team were wonderful. The service was impeccable in every way. We had a bungalow with a view of the lake that was spacious, welcoming and immaculate. We loved our spa treatments and had a delicious dinner with excellent service. The vibe and atmosphere of the main house is perfect. The common rooms are all so chill and welcoming. We are looking forward to our next visit.

My boyfriend and I just spent the weekend here for my birthday. Cannot say enough good things about the place, staff (Andrew at the bar, Triniti, Chef Clark all were amazing) as were the front desk. Food was excellent, pillows and pancakes add on is definitely worth it. We had a lake view king and loved our room. Outdoor hot tub was a huge hit for us, we had couples massages and used all the spa amenities. We can’t wait to come back soon.Rooms: Comfy beds, really nice shower products. Cleaned every day.

Had the most wonderful Easter Brunch in Catskills! While on holiday visiting a friend, we were delighted dining in the renovated Victorian of Kenoza Hall over looking the lake. With well appointed rooms and decor and staff on point the food perfectly done, could not ask for a more lovely way of celebrating Easter while catching up!Thank you Kenoza Hall

By far one of the best getaways we’ve experienced in a long time. The staff were super warm and they made us feel so special. Saudy went the extra mile to welcome our family and shared great tips on hikes and attractions. The bungalow was super clean and spa was luxury. We can’t wait to return soon. Thank you so much for all the lovely moments.Rooms: Sparkling Clean

Experience was 10/10. Will definitely be back!Highlights:- Spa is great, massages were awesome- Classes with Gary on kickboxing was superb- Yoga was also excellent- Great wifi for working- Rooms are cute and products are great- Very generous (e.g. cookies every day)Cons:- The restaurant is lacking. Fish came out way over cooked (to their credit they remade it). Burger bun was still cold (wasn't properly toasted from frozen). Eggs came out over cooked / yokes cracked. *Burger meat was excellent and perfectly cookedOverall very good stay!

The pros:The setting is beautiful, right on the lake with hiking trails and nature nearby. The warm cookies daily are great, staff was friendly, and the reading nooks in the lobby are cozy. The cons:The setting is beautiful but the main building on the property could use a few upgrades. The heat/AC in our room wasn’t working and the repairman said it happens all the time because the building is old. Our room was on the first floor and we could hear everything below with incredibly thin walls. Cleaning never came until we requested, we heard a couple people ask about this. We had dinner at the property and didn’t enjoy the food (but drinks were great). The spa is more like a fenced-in room with a sauna box outdoors.

The short: pretty on the outside but hallow on the inside.Let me start with the good. Beautiful view & scenery including the property but unfortunately it stops there.Room: while the tub was a welcome surprise, the constant smell of mildew was hard to get past. Also you can hear every room around you.Staff: First off let me warn you, call in advance about the spa/amenities. During our visit there was a group visiting and found out no other guests could use the spa. This was only after running out in the snow in our robes in plain view of the staff. (We weren’t the only who were upset over this). The other unfortunate part was that we kept having issue after issue with no solution from the staff let alone a sense of accountability.Food: While the drinks were great and food was decent, the service ruined the experience. It took nearly 2 hours to get our food and having to beg the server for water got old fast. (The bartenders were the best part!)While the property is beautiful and the photos look great, from personal experience there are plenty of other places in the area that give a much better experience overall (and cost much less)

We’ve just returned from our second stay at Kenoza Hall and are already working to find a date for our next visit. Not sure where to begin with the positive feedback — spacious, new and clean bungalows, beautifully kept grounds, private lake access, included yoga and other spa classes and access (hot tub, sauna, relax area, etc.), complementary fresh-baked cookies and s’mores over the open fire pit, cozy game areas in the main house, great drinks and dining (the restaurant and kitchen team was incredibly accommodating)? No. I believe the most important place to start is the attentive, hard-working, welcoming, friendly and all-around pleasant staff. The Kenoza Hall crew has clearly mastered the art of treating guests like royalty while giving everyone ample space and independence and maintaining an awesomely relaxing vibe. Saudy (General Manager), Juan (Guest Services Manager), Triniti (Restaurant Server and our daughter’s new best friend) and Rich (Restaurant Server) we’re all around wonderful and elevated our experience to another level. We can’t wait to visit again and hope we’ll see you all soon! Thank you!

Ventured here with family and kids, and we were surprised by everything about this place. You’re caught by surprise as soon as you walk in. The interior of the restaurant almost brings you to a different place and time, with art and a cosy seating space in any corner. The food is delicious in a delicate and hearty way at once. I loved the duck legs, ceaser salad, and their steak. The host, Ana, handled everything with the care that resembles home. The kids made smores by the firepit outside, while I drank my wine nearby, and everything was perfect in the world, under some very bright stars. Will definitely return here.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Kenoza Hall this past week. Our friends in town recommended this place for our Birthday weekend and it did not disappoint. Planning on coming back to the area this summer to dine and possibly stay again!Nearby activities: Nearby a town called Jeffersonville and Callicoon. There's more to do in Callicoon.

One of the most exquisite locations in the Catskills. When my husband and I dine and stay here we feel so well taken care of. The staff is so kind and inviting, it’s an huge asset while dining and staying. The food by Chef Oscar Vargas is luxurious and prepared to perfection, and you can tell there is experienced technique behind each dish. We took my grandpa here for his 90th birthday brunch and between the views and the food, he said it was his favorite day. Be back soon!

I was lucky enough to have my wedding at the beautiful Kenoza property. We were welcomed by the warmest staff that quickly became friends. We could not have picked a more perfect venue to host our party of 220- the property wowed every attendee and made for the perfect weekend celebration. Not to mention, Chef Oscar worked with us to curate the most diversified menu for our rehearsal dinner from asian fusion, to raw bar, to a mediterranean station, brick-oven pizzas and more. He is the best of the best. We cannot wait to come back and celebrate our anniversary with the FSH family, Kenoza Hall holds a very special place in our hearts.

A superb dinner experience on Mother's Day was our first visit to this beautiful hotel. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Every thoughtful detail in the dining room overlooking Kenoza Lake made my Mother's Day celebration memorable. Paola and Oscar are a dream team and such lovely people. We will definitely eat here again!

Enjoy staying at Kenoza Hall whenever we go to a show at Bethel Woods. Rooms are cute and charming, staff is very pleasant and the food is phenomenal. Go for the pillows & pancakes breakfast package, it’s worth it. You can enjoy lunch in the restaurant before 2:30pm or take it to go and enjoy by the outdoor pool. During happy hour, they offer heavenly homemade cookies and delicious crustless sandwiches to get you through until dinner. The bar is dark and intimate. The espresso martinis are outstanding and pair perfectly with the warm soft chocolate chip cookies. Dinner menu is outstanding. I loved the caviars, grilled Caesar, CHICKEN WITH 40 CLOVES OF GARLIC, Lump Crab with Young Coconut and Black Rice were all extraordinary. Trinity was a gracious server and we appreciated her suggestions. Can’t wait until our next visit back!

My husband and I stayed at Kenoza Hall for New Years Eve and could not have been more pleased with our experience. Kenoza is a very hip boutique hotel that provides all the luxuries wanted for a nice getaway experience. After we got settled in our room, we went down to the bar and had a nice chat with Danny, the bartender. He mixed up some really unique cocktails for us pre dinner. The bar is small, dark and quaint and reminded me of some of my favorite little spots in the East Village. When our table was ready, he seated us in the dining room where we were greeted by the sweetest waitress, Paolo. She was versed on the menu and attentive to our needs throughout the course of the meal. The menu was prix fixed for NYE with a nice range of choices. I went with the French onion soup as my starter and it was extremely tasty. It was thicker and richer than a traditional French onion which I loved. I ordered a creamy gnocchi for dinner, and again, the flavors were excellent. Oscar, the chef, made a point to visit our table to make sure everything was prepared to our liking. I’d love to come back and try other meals from this chef. The quality is unmatched and the flavor combinations excited me. Towards the end of the dinner the GM, Russ, came around to make sure we were pleased with the experience. We let him know that all in all, everything was 5 stars and we cannot wait to return.

This review is exclusively for Hemlock Spa. The staff was incredibly well-informed and my therapist was more knowledgeable than I ever imagined. I left with new stretches to do, sock and shoe recommendations, a fascia-release spa location in Brooklyn (where I live), and overall truly relaxed but also properly stretched. Their spa area has the vibes of a rustic she-shed, being outdoors and stuffed with plants. We went into the Sauna during a rainstorm and that remains one of my favorite memories. You could hang out there all day if you like before/after your services. It's not a huge location, but they only accommodate the amount of people they have room for. I was staying in the area and this was a great choice for a morning/afternoon.

The beauty here!!! On a cold winter day I came to Hemlock spa for a day away. I arrived for yoga and was immediately awestruck at the view of the lake from the studio. The class was wonderful. I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and found Rachel’s class to be the right amount of challenge and also very relaxing. Rachel’s instructions were spot on and she adapted each asana for the various levels of practitioners in the room. After class the sauna, hot tub, and lounging in the greenhouse melted all my stress away. It was such a special moment when the snow flurries fell into the steam of the hot tub as I watched the hawks fly over the lake. Lunch was absolutely delicious and the view from the restaurant was again stunning and the decor was beautiful down to every detail. The deep tissue massage, also by Rachel, released so much tension and pain and sent me off deep into a dreamworld. She is truly talented at both yoga and massage. Rachel and the entire staff were warm and accommodating. It’s so nice to finally have such quality services and space in Sullivan county. You can sense the respect for the land and the history of the area all over the property at Kenoza Hall. I will definitely be returning.

OVERALL: Wonderful weekend stay, the property is absolutely beautiful and extremely well-maintained. Beautiful gardens and the different common areas were furnished so stylishly. Website does not do it justice! Only knocked off 1 star for location since it’s in a more “remote” area of the Catskills, so it’s a bit of a drive to get to anything else. However, if you’re looking for somewhere to just laze around, enjoy the lake view, pool, spa, and on-premises restaurant, this would definitely be perfect for you.SERVICE: The service is really friendly; this is a small-ish boutique property up in the Catskills and some reviewers who negatively commented on the service may have unrealistic expectations. We found everyone to be very professional, friendly, and even accommodated us with a couple of our unexpected requests.ROOM: The rooms are very charming, with Victorian-inspired decor, but fully modern and very well-maintained. We stayed in the King Loft on the 4th floor which had a really nice tub that looked out onto the lake.RESTAURANT: We had dinner our first night in the restaurant (made reservations about a week in advance and had our small dog with us), and we luckily scored the one outdoor table that our dog could be accommodated at - and it happened to be the nicest table with the best view. The staff were so welcoming to our dog and offered her water right away. Food was delicious, and exceeded our expectations. The second night we were intending on venturing out to eat elsewhere, but weather kept us in. We weren’t mad about it since dinner the first night was so good. The restaurant went out of their way to squeeze us in since we were staying at the hotel. We were able to sit at a table at the bar with our dog and Trinity (bartender) did double duty and served us while making drinks for other guests. I could tell she was working hard and likely didn’t expect to have to be a server than night, but she did it all with a smile. It was very much appreciated! :)SPA: I had a private aerial yoga lesson with Leeanna and she was great! I am a novice at yoga, and it was also my first time trying aerial yoga, but she was an amazing teacher and adjusted the lesson according to my abilities. It was so much fun, exceeded my expectations, and it ended up being more of a workout than I expected. Thanks Kenoza Hall for making our trip such a memorable one!Rooms: Highly recommend a room with a freestanding tub with a view. The 4th floor King Loft room is very spacious and the tub has the perfect view of the lake across the way.Food & drinks: Top notch food at the restaurant on premises. Popovers for bread service are SO GOOD! Ate there on 2 consecutive nights and absolutely loved everything we had. Also splurged on caviar service which came with homemade blinis (still warm!) and potato gaufrettes. Seasonal fruit tart (pineapple that evening) was a very delicious and memorable way to end our meal on the second night! You can tell Chef Vargas takes his craft seriously. Definitely recommend making reservations even if a hotel guest.

All of the amenity’s are really nice. however, the staff are some of the rudest people I have ever met. For 1 example, We came into the tiny bar area to get a night cap and a desert after going to dinner elsewhere and one of the waitresses made rude comments to us for for not eating dinner in the main dining room (it was 9pm and we had already eaten) . Also, the town is a good 30 minute drive. And, lastly there are a million flies. Do not recommend, overpriced for the service and area.Walkability: Not at all walkable anywhere. If u want to go get food or shop you absolutely need a car.

This place was so beautiful and peaceful. I'm kicking myself we only stayed one night! The staff were all super friendly and helpful, they even had bougie strawberry water in the lobby to sip on, I was obsessed! The grounds were gorgeous, the rooms were simple but pretty. The bathrooms were definitely worth the book! We will definitely be back, I didn't get enough time here!Rooms: The rooms weren't huge, but the beds were kings, SO comfy. It was romantic and quaint. The bathrooms were amazing! Huge tub made for 2! Plus the shower was gorgeous and had every soap and shampoo you could need!Food & drinks: The restaurant was delicious and the staff were great. I ordered escargot! I never would have done that but the dish sounded delicious and it was! It was great to have beautiful food outside on the terrace and looking over the water, so romantic.

I booked Kenoza Hall for a little getaway with my husband. We were greeted with complimentary local cider, & brought to our room, which was so thoughtfully decorated, comfortable & spacious. The in room amenities smelled so yummy too! After checking in we grabbed a yummy cocktail at the bar & walked down to the calm, quiet lake, where we sat & enjoyed the surrounding foliage. After taking in the sights, we enjoyed a game of scrabble in the bar area & ended our evening with dinner at the restaurant. Our steak was perfectly cooked & the sides were delicious! Service was so attentive as well, & all staff were very kind & a pleasure to chat with! The wine & cocktail menu was also perfectly curated. After dinner they had a fire going outside & s’mores kits, which was so cute! We didn’t have time to enjoy the spa, but look forward to returning & taking advantage of it! Overall the trip was a 10/10 & we can’t wait to return!
