Ate here last week with friends. The waiter, Brett was great. He made good recommendations and was very attentive. The food was excellent! Three in my party of 4 had fig pizza and clam pizza as an entree. It was excellent. I had the homemade burrata-filled ravioli with tomato sauce. The ravioli were huge but delicious! Great wine list and appetizers! Would definitely come back!

SOOOOO DELISH!!! You MUST GO!! ~ since buying a home on the north fork, my hunnnnies Jeff and I have been busy trying all the delish food the north fork has to offer! Although all are pretty AMAZING!! ~ This one is a MUST GO!! We have passed this place a number of times while driving through the town of Jamesport. It’s a quaint little spot and you can usually find it by the amount of cars parked on the street especially for dinner. We went there for lunch on a weekday and had no trouble getting a table. I’m sure dinner is different 😜. First off~ there is ALOT on the menu!! SOOOO MANY GOOOOD CHOICES~ it was hard for me to choose!! So I let Jeff decide! And what does he choose? PASTA!!! ~ now I try my best to steer clear of pasta BUT this one sounded SO GOOD I caved! Now it was only lunch so didn’t want to go that nuts so compromised (with myself! 😂) that we would “split” the pasta and have a few starters! Especially to try different dishes 😉. I started with wine (of course~ hey~ it was lunch~ and first time at Grana~ a reason to celebrate 😂💪🏻😂), then we ordered the mozzarella caprese (or something that sounds similar 😂) picture fried mozz or burrata (?) with a tomato inside the fried shell!!! And the addition of some delish sauce!! Then we tried the beet salad! Again delish. I like beets don’t love them but wanted to try something different and it was GREAT! Then the main pasta I couldn’t resist was the black truffle pasta!!! This pasta was sooo light and airy AND I love anything truffle!! If you take a look at the pic~ that’s a half of what they serve because they were nice enough to split for us because I mentioned we split everything when ordering! It always is a nice surprise when they actually serve out 2 plates as they did! We were going to order dessert but because it was lunch I opted to order another wine instead (of course!) 😂💪🏻🍷. Overall GREAT PLACE~ DEF RECOMMEND!!! Can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes!!!

Stopped here after a day at the wineries. We had a reservation and definitely recommend having one as it quickly filled up. The food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely recommend the wild mushroom pizza . The chicken chop parmigiana was a great size and tasty and the Cacio e Pepe Bella Parti in the specials was wonderful. Definitely recommend it.

We had the boat scallops special and it was delicious. Friends had the pasta with truffles and the Stanley Tucci pasta and zucchini in a lemon sauce. We sat outside after a storm and waited a bit for the staff to dry the tables and chairs. The drinks were tasty and the servers were pleasant. There is one bathroom which handles the resturant's patrons.

We stopped into Grana by chance today... there was an open spot for my car right in front of the restaurant. Boy, I'm glad we did.As soon as we walked into Grana, it was crowded, we were greeted by Brett, and there were spots at the bar, so I was all in for that.We did not order any drinks since we just visited 2 vineyards today, so water was fine.We ordered the ceaser salad, nice and crisp, garlic, cheese and croutons... delicious! For our meal, we ordered a wood fitted pizza... half Grana and half eggplant. The pizza was amazing, the eggplant and caramelized onions were so sweet. The staff are all very nice and converse with you. Brett took good care of us. It was a great experience!

The food was great. The service good. Atmosphere is nice. We go there probably once a year. We are locals. Went Saturday with a gift card that my wife got from her boss (well known in the community) . When we tried to use that to pay, we were told we couldn't use it. Something about fraud. If they have issues with that, that is not my problem. Rather than cause an issue, I paid by AmEx and left my number for the management to discuss. No response unfortunately. I didn't leave a tip because of the situation but that's not me. I went back Sunday with that.Like I said, only once a year so it obviously is not a big deal for them.I do love the place and the food but I could never go back, sorry to say. I will miss the pizza.11/28/23- Now I'm really pissed. Never a call back regarding the gift card. I should have put a stop on the card payment. Better yet Give them $20 and let them split it with the server. As I said I've been the enough times where I would think I would have gotten at least a call. My wife & i used to sit at the bar when we would go and shoot the bull with Nancy and have drinks and order dinner. Grana, you owe me $135.00.

Very different from a regular NYC pizza, but very good. I think they use sourdough. Monday night, on July 2, was very busy, waited 50 minutes for my order. It was much faster during a weekday lunch. A bottle of wine set us back by $40.

I was very excited to finally get a chance to try this place. The brick oven pizza was amazing. I ordered a shrimp dish that underwhelmed. A few hours after my meal, I started to get violently ill. I ended up spending the night in the emergency room with a diagnosis of food poisoning. The next day I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. I don't remember the woman's name but she could not have been more or less caring. Her only concern was how would I know that the food poisoning was from what I ate at the restaurant. Turns out that was the only meal I had that day. I tried not to eat because I knew I was going out to dinner. She said she was going to contact the owners and get back to me. I never heard back from the rude manager or the owners. Needless to say, we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Second time here. First on a Wednesday three months ago (June), this time on a Friday in September (updating today). HIGHLY RECOMMEND RESERVATIONS. Fills up quickly. Food is always good. Tonight the carbonara pasta special came salty and without the "crispy egg" as described. Likely the result of newly hired staff. It happens. Our server Chrissy (sp?) Was great, a real sweetheart. They confused our entrees tonight with another table, but quickly rectified the situation and were very gracious and courteous to us. We love this place and will certainty be back. Keep up the great work Chef David! Wish they served Pellegrino/Panna and a few local desserts.Updated August 2018: Photos are pappardelle with boar ragout, cocoa and I think it was orange or nutmeg [phenomenal special] and side of meatballs (also very good) from a recent trip. Didn't get a picture of the Rabbit pappardelle with rosemary and orange, my dinner guest ate too fast; it was so good! Also noticed they featured some desserts! Wish I had room this time to try. Next time ...A note to the readers ploughing through the reviews, while the service is at times spotty, I can't imagine Grana having the luxury of a Manhattan restaurant that has thousands of applicants at their disposal. Jamesport is a destination location and I am certain they have their challenges getting high quality, professionally minded staff. So to all the stuck up snooty people that trash the place for service, remember this: statistically speaking people are more likely to forgive terrible service than terrible food. Most go out to eat, not to be catered to. So give the young and inexperienced a break and lighten up. It's only one meal out of your day. And if you've only been there once, give it another go. Everyone has a bad day.Yes, the food is not Michelin rated but it's not meant to be. This establishment has their heart in the right place and unless you've worked in the hospitality industry, you can't possibly understand what it is like trying to please the masses.I am not getting paid to write this nor do I receive any benefits. I understand and appreciate the opportunity I have to visit them. I have been in this industry a very long time and through the years, customers have become less gracious and more obnoxious with their demands, let alone expectations. Just chill, have a good meal and enjoy your company. It's a gem in a sea of mediocrity.Update October 2018: Another fantastic visit. While the service was okay at best (they must have been short staffed for a busy Sunday night). Chef David came out to the table to assist with our menu questions. He is very accommodating and walked us through what options are available for our dietary needs. While many, I'm sure, request lifestyle choices, ours are life changing requirements that really mean life and really difficult painful life choices. This is what makes this place amazing. They care a great deal about the guest; its why its our ONLY GO TO PLACE in this area. Thank you for your amazing performance.Update November 2020: I wish I could detail my experience but there's not enough space. Service and food was terrible this time around. Just awful. I hope it was only an off night as I'm sure the 2020 craziness had it's affects on the staff and the systems. In short, our dinner was inedible, deep fried petrified rocks posing as roasted potatoes, my pork chop was far too salty to eat (confirmed by the kitchen after 45 minutes) and my wife's "house made organic pasta" turned out to be boxed dry pasta, also confirmed by the kitchen after we called them out on it. In short we didn't eat dinner. Thank GOD we ordered a pizza for appetizer and that was fabulous; a miracle. The server tried to be kind and courteous but he just has no clue about service and really needs more training. Like I said, 2020 strikes again. We'll try again, just maybe next year. Sorry Chef David, we're still big fans, just left with a broken heart and empty stomachs.

Can't say enough. Every entree better than the other with the Casoncelli alla Bergamo ravioli leading the pack but the shining star was by far the caramelized onion, fig pizza which I would order as my last meal on death row. BRAVO !!!

Some hits, some misses -I love and really identify with the chef's values around ingredients and quality. He makes most things himself which is admirable and worth a trip as there is so much slop being served up in the general area. That said, there were some things that didn't work for me:- waited 35 mins for a reserved table 😳- the octopus salad was dry- the salad wasn't dressed, the dish wasn't seasoned and the leg I got wasn't properly trimmed - there was a section of the body (and the beak) - that was not appetizing.- the margherita pizza came without basil. Instead of sharing that they had run out of basil the server only shared that important detail after we asked about it (and after the pizza was served to us). That feels like an amateur move.- the "wild mushroom" pizza did not have wild mushrooms on it. Those mushrooms you can buy at your local grocery store. They are button mushrooms. Not wild. All in all, the pasta (which is all homemade) was good as were the pizzas. The dough was spot on. Perhaps the connection between the kitchen and the front of the house needs to be better. I'd go back to give it another shot before throwing in the towel. Looking forward to giving it more stars.

We were visiting out of town and wanted to go out to a local pizzeria Thought this place would be good because of all the reviews but it was very disappointing. I ordered a pizza which came out to be extremely thin crust. I mean I love a thin crust but not paper thin! As soon as I picked up a slice everything slides off immediately. After telling the waiter and ordering another one expecting it to be better, the new pie came in was uncooked. It tasted like raw flour. These people clearly don’t know how to make pizza. I do not recommend coming in here and wasting your money.

Excellent food & close to some vineyards. The food was amazingly fresh and their pizza transported me back to Italy. I can't wait to go back! Just a tip- I was told if I go back for dinner to make a reservation.

I’ve been to Grana 3 times. The first two times were sublime. In fact, we drove 50 miles just to get there. Last night was my birthday dinner, and to say it was not a good experience all the way around is the understatement of the century! We made reservations for 4 people at 4:30 as that was all they had. Our hotel wasn’t ready for us to check in at 4:00, which created a time crunch. I called Grana to let them know we were running 10 minutes late, but our dining companions were probably already there and could be seated. The maitre’d impolitely stated that if we were 15 minutes late, we would forfeit the table despite half of our party already being seated. I admit, I found this perplexing. Are you going to force those seated to leave? Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. Grana makes this ravioli that has a beautiful egg yolk in it and as you slice into it, it opens and the yolk artfully joins the ricotta cheese to create an incredible taste. Sadly, for me this dish also includes truffles, which unfortunately for me are unappealing. So, I ordered this incredible ravioli dish, sans mushrooms, it arrives with shrooms and over cooked yolks that weren’t moving. I hate to be that person that returns things, but in this dish the yolk is the star and well. I quite literally waited all year for this meal. I politely show the server the hardened yolks and ask for another, once again without mushrooms. She takes the plate away and states she’ll have it remade. The rest of the table was enjoying their food, I waited. When my replacement entree arrived, the yolk was cooked perfectly, but the brown butter sauce still contained those pesky offensive shrooms. When I notified the server of the server mushroom offense, she grabbed a menu, told me those are absolutely not mushrooms, their “truffles”. Speechless, I inform her that, in fact truffles are mushrooms, she states, “well they’re in the mushroom family”. At this point, I’d already returned their initial attempt and well, everyone had already finished their entrees so, I scraped off those truffles and forced it down despite hating that shroom taste. I’m so disappointed. In a restaurant that has a chef that obviously takes pride in his food, it’s appalling that his staff is going to destroy his business. Perhaps they’re tired after a profitable summer season, but they need to remember they need the Fall and winter people too. We will not return.

Had one of the best experiences at a restaurant in my life last night. Our server Brett, was constantly moving but made us feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. Have never been given better service in my life. His knowledge of the menu was incredible. And when the dishes came out they were perfection. 10/10 recommend this restaurant.

This is a follow-up review, as we decided to give Grana another chance, and I am really glad we did!We had family visiting from abroad & decided to make a reservation for 12 people😬I must say, the manager (Brian, I believe), went above & beyond, from the great Bedell, Cabernet Franc recommendation, to the delicious crispy brussels sprouts salad, best truffle mushroom pizza & homemade ravioli, we enjoyed it all!Not only we received an exceptional service, he was extremely professional & the entire staff was very attentive & treated us really well.Grana totally won us back & we look forward to our next visit!!

Best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Easily the best server I have ever had. Brett had an answer for every question asked giving us detailed descriptions of each dish. Clearly loves his job and the restaurant. Told us how he owes so much of the success in his life to the owners of the restaurant. Very affirming to see someone who loves what they do. Food was top notch as was the cozy atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend more.

Food was delicious. Service was OK at the beginning. We dined here back in April and after explicitly telling the waitstaff one of our party members had a SEVERE nut allergy several times they decided to bring hazelnut gelato to our table for desert with no mention it was hazelnut flavored. Queue emergency! One hospital visit later all were well.We made sure to inform the restaurant the next day. The waiter we spoke to was kind enough to comp the $18 of deserts. Management never called back. The foods good but be warned before you risk it.

Ate at Grana last summer and have been dreaming about it since. Perhaps the best Margarita pizza I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly charred crust, impeccable sauce, and creamy mozzarella. Outside seating was cozy and the service was mighty fine.
