Wish I had the experience that it seems most others had from their reviews. Checked the website for 2 specific type/size of paint tray liners. I’m well aware websites aren’t always accurate with products and stock. Asked the woman with short pink hair wearing a Williams red jacket and working in the tool section if the 2 liners in the aisle were the only ones they carried or if there was more elsewhere .She did attempt to help me, but It was very obvious she was annoyed I asked her for help. I tried showing her what it was on the website she briefly glanced at my phone said “you need a deep clear liner” and walked off toward the back. I said I also need a different one as well. She responded “I’ll tell you what I have”. She came back a few seconds later with a different liner, but not the one I needed. She then asked for a ladder and started looking through boxes on the top shelf. At this point it was obvious they do not carry them. I told her not to worry about it.The issue here is customer service. I’ve had wonderful experiences with the younger people who work here, but this woman specifically radiated frustration. I’m sure she’s constantly pulled from her task at hand to find products that the website claims they have and don’t. I understand how frustrating that must be. However, tone and attitude go a long way in a client based business.

We went into the store with our two grandchildren and they could not have been nicer to us and especially our grandsons. It’s important to give back to local stores especially when the customer service is so great!! They have a lot of inventory as well. We bought chalk paint and supplies to make a chalk board on one of the walls! The boys are so excited!

awful customer service. was looking for a flex PVC pipe , got put on hold for them to check in the back (which is not my issue, I don't mind waiting on hold) someone else picked up the phone and said "are you calling for the lumber counter ? " I said " no i was waiting on hold for someone check on inventory for me . looking for a flex pipe or a hose for a water pump " he Said " WHAT ? A HOSE ?! " and then he laughed at me when i confirmed that is what I am looking for. straight rude to laugh at a customer .

Staff is really nice and knowledgeable in my experience there. I’ve been by the ACE Hardware there a bunch of times to grab things when a trip to Home Depot seems a bit too far for my needs. They have most of the basic household things you would find necessary and also have decent selection of outdoor/ home & garden products.

Fantastic service, super helpful staff! Building a treehouse with my daughter and they took the time to be sure we had all the correct wood and supplies, and then cut the wood for us!! Above and beyond, and most definitely solidified them as my go-to for our next projects!

I was interested in buying a canopy I found on the Ace website. Chris was extremely kind and ordered the exact canopy I was looking for. They called me to pick it up and when I arrived and went to pay for the canopy the price was different. Mike the manager honored the price for me. What excellent customer service, I salute the William Lumber staff. Keep up the good work, you make Hopewell Junction a beautiful place to shop and live in. Thank you!

EDIT: 9/7/22. Called to check price and availability. was told, let me get you to lumber. Was on hold for several minutes. Second call, "let me get you to lumber" a guy picks up, mumbles on a bad phone connection, couldn't understand him. Called back, again, let me get you to lumber, on hold, I think, hung up after a while.Prices on some things, same brand and model, Like doors, can be 2X more $$ than the other stores.If you live in Hopewell junction area and you don't want to take the trip to the orange store or the blue store, this location has pretty much the same stuff at pretty much the same prices. I think it's worth a phone call to see if they have what you need. The staff is pretty friendly..

Clueless. I had high hopes for a local store but I will not go back here. On two occasions I went here for paint, no one knew what they were supposed to be doing and were covering departments they had no knowledge of, while sending me around to ask other employees what I needed. The result was I came home with a botched paint match and now I have to pay a contractor to first waste his time with the bad paint and now repaint the whole room with a different paint (that I will definitely buy somewhere else.) Really frustrating.

After 4 back and forth trips to the two different big chain stores, for a screw for my umbrella stand, nothing fit. One trip to Williams Lumber and there beholds my perfect size screw. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have so much more quality items offered. My definite new store.

If I could give negative 5 stars to this business I would. I have had 3 bad experiences in this store. The help is rude and unhelpful. I have been hung up on and put on hold endlessly when I have called looking for products. In person the staff is even ruder. They have no interest in helping the customer and they don't care if you walk away without buying anything. So much for trying to shop locally, don't waste your time.

This particular location does not carry a wide variety of hardware/home center items,as it is not their main store..I also must point out that some of the items are outrageously priced,and is unfortunately not a place where I can personally afford to shop at regularly.On the positive side,the staff is extremely outgoing and friendly,and it is the go-to place in the area if you need any type of lumber/wood project.I just wish they had the same selection as they do at their primary location.

So imagine you don't have an immediate need for 400 of something and you want to speak to someone who knows what they are doing and knowledgeable on a product. This is where you would want to be. If you did need 400 of something, they can get it, just probably not today. Always friendly and helpful.

Wow 🤣. I just called and said hi do you have mesh rebar and 10ft sticks. The guy responded like he had no idea what I’m talking about. Said “please hold I’ll check with lumber department”. Came back 3 minutes later “ok so you want rebar? What kind”….Mesh and 10 ft sticks. “Ok so you want some mesh. Please hold”. Came back 5 minutes later “ok sorry so you need rebar”. YES DO YOU HAVE IT!!!?? “Sure one sec let me check”. Came back 5 minutes later “ok so what size rebar”? MESH AND 10ft STICKS!!! “Ok got it one sec please hold”. Wait another couple minutes. “Ok sorry I’m back you need rebar still. Let me check please hold”. Couple minutes later I hang up 🤣. To say this employee was a joke in Hopewell J is an understatement. I don’t have all day to wait and see if you have rebar! Ya lost a customer.

Great customer service! Was sent to grab some painting supplies, which I know nothing about, and the gentleman in the paint section was knowledgable and friendly, and even helped me carry everything out to the car! Highly recommend!

Every time I go to Williams Lumber I leave disappointed. Either they do not have what I want, or it is double the price of Home Depot, or it is damaged. On my latest trip I purchased some trim boards from the front desk, then drove to the back to pick them up with a gentleman told me that they did not have them in stock. I went back to the front desk where the salesman told me that they did have it. A half hour later I ended up getting my money back and not leaving with the material. To say that I am disappointed in this place is an understatement

Good for a quick pick up. Looks nothing like the ones in the commercials. Small and under stocked. Help desk in the back NOT friendly or accommodating. Now that True Value is back in business, no need to ever go there again.

Why go to HD or Lowes? If you're in the area this is the place to go. They offer a huge selection of hardware, plumbing supplies, paint, garden supplies, electrical items and lumber for the DIYer and professional. Chances are anything you need for your project is here. Also, unlike the big box stores the staff knows what you're talking about and can offer excellent advice. You won't hear "go to aisle 39 on the left side". The staff will personally help you find the exact item you need. This is old school service and selection that is welcomed in the modern retail world.

Recently we used this Williams Lumber to supply the wood we needed for a project. Our contractor recommended them for the lumber for our steps. I can see why all the wood was of a high quality. Pat was very helpful with our order.

The salesman in the rear of the store treated me like an idiot because I don't know how to speak lumber jack. I clearly told him that I don't know how lumber is cut but I explained what I needed. "I need pine and something that is 12 feet long by 9 3/4 inches wide and about 1 inch thick". Well that wasn't good enough- we go back and forth about how lumber is cut, he sighed about 3-4 times, smirked, rolled his eyes, and his attitude was overwhelming. He tells me it'll be $34, I tell him that something is wrong because it's my third time buying lumber from them and "it's usually $24-$25". OHHH he rolls his eyes again and clenches himself like he just heard nails on a chalkboard. I tried to tell him again what I need and he interrupts me! "Lumber isn't cut that way! Lumber is cut like this!" And he tries to educate me in a way you would speak to a 3 year old. Then he takes the wood example and pushes it down on the counter with force as if he was fed up with me. The manager (or whomever he was) walks over and stands next to me and listens to us go back and forth. I slam my wallet, tell him i'll just go somewhere else and stormed out of the store. I get into my car and the manager starts walking towards me, explains to me that his employer shouldn't have treated me like that, and that he understood what I needed and that he would be happy to get it for me. I already had steam coming out of ears and was too pissed off to accept his offer- even though I greatly appreciated it. I ended up going to home depot and was WAYYYY happier with the price and service.

Williams Lumber sent me a sale brochure. I went in one day after the sale started. They said the sale hadn't started yet. I showed them the date on their ad. Since they are an Ace Hardware, they said it was an Ace ad and an Ace problem. I showed them their name and address on the ad. I showed them the sale date on the ad. Store manager Mike said no. I had to come back in three days. Home Depot here I come!

Customer service is horrible. People have no idea what stuff they selling but let them self comments about contractors skills. Very nasty, low culture, low educated people. Never been there before and never again. One star is too much

Sales staff at Williams Lumber was very Professional & courteous, unlike Dain's Lumber in Peekill, where the sales staff was rude to me and to the Architect I brought with me.The Williams sales staff was more than able to order the Anderson window that my Architect had specified. Also they were able to give me literature on Storm Doors for my house.The showroom was well organized, and well lit. They have an amazing selection of Hardware !!!I am looking forward to using Williams Lumber for my renovation needs.
