One of the more eccentric bookstores I've been to. You're welcomed by a wood-burning stove upon entry. Enjoy 2 floors of shelves and shelves of books. There are more books than available shelf-space which makes browsing a bit difficult. Very unique atmosphere. I'm sure if you have the eye and patience you could find some real gems in there. Downfall is lack of handicap accessibility. Definitely worth a visit.

This place deserves a visit. It's full of books and I found the biggest collection of books on Freud I've ever seen in a long time in a bookstore. Sadly, the proprietor is very old and the place is filled with stacks and stacks of books that need shelving and block the bottom shelves from perusal. We also had to search out the light switches ourselves, especially upstairs. Bring a flashlight for those corners that are unlit. Also, bring wet wipes if you're gonna dig through those awesome stacks like I did. If you are a book lover, you'll probably find some amazing gems here!

The most amazing collection of books I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t even do the place justice with my quick stop in. Don't let the overwhelming amount of books deter you - the owner is incredibly organized, and knows where everything is! Will absolutely be back to explore more!!

I’ve been driving past this place for years on visits to family in the region and never realized it was there! Truly amazing place. Lots of vintage 1960’s & 70’s books and ephemera, older too of course. Huge woodstove to warm up by. Owners will cut prices when you buy a bunch of books at once. Great for browsing, but do ask if you’re looking for something specific - they know their inventory pretty well even though it looks chaotic. Cash only!

The bookstore is little gem with the selection of used books. The variety is wide, but so is the quality. Definitely worth a visit and stop. Cherish these bookstore while they are around.

At the ground level there are tons of old or hard cover books of various genres. There are actually more books than shelf space. That is a great thing. What I really can recommend is to go downstairs into the basement! That is where all the good stuff is in my opinion. Paperbacks and hardcovers. The basement door under a sign that says paperbacks outside to the left of the main entrance. If you happen to be looking for SciFi books, there are many shelves of them. I spoke to the owner, and he told me people used to look for the mysteries, but more people now are looking for science fiction, so that is why the section is so large.

Me, after inquiring about an 1874 seemingly-first edition poetry book in near perfect condition: "Where do you get all of these (insanely old, incredible condition stacks of books piled to capacity)?"Answer, from near-90 year old proprietor in his quasi-Irish accent: "The old man dies; all the kids are dyslexic. What're you gonna do with the books?"Understood!

This place is fun. Don't go looking for some specific thing; go looking for a good time and to chance upon a random next book or two.The order, as others have mentioned, is very loose. There's a big woodstove going whenever it's even a tiny bit cool out, and there's a character by the door who'll have you do your own price tallying. Like I said: fun and a good time. There are gazillions of books in there, BTW. Gazillions. Give yourself time to peruse.

Amazing selection in a beautiful old barn. Upon walking in, one is immediately immersed in the thousands of books that are everywhere, overflowing from shelves. A gorgeous 100+ year old wood stove gives off a cozy heat and glow. The proprietor was helpful and jovial... prices are reasonable and fair. We could’ve spent hours browsing but it was close to closing. Delightful dream like place, absolutely recommend!

Only open Fri - Sun. Weird place. Three stories. Great selection. The best science fiction selection I've ever seen is in the basement. Fiction on the first floor with first editions behind the desk. Science and nature is upstairs. The light switches are IN the shelves themselves so if you go early you'll be feeling around in the dark for a bit. Sometimes there is someone who knows where they are.

I really hope they reopen, it’s the best bookstore around for miles!

What a mess! The place is a disaster and needs a stock rotation but what a fun book maze to explore. I found a couple of interesting titles. One could spend a few days in this place and not see everything.

Very cozy bookstore, easy to miss as you're driving by but worth the stop. A lot of books are priced a couple dollars below retail and a lot of the larger reference books are more than half off.Go upstairs if you love history!

We have been going to Dog Ear Books for decades. Great selection of books to browse through in the huge old barn. The Owner is very helpful. We always stop in but check the hours.

Really nice and large used bookstore. The books there are mostly older used books so you won't find as much new ones. The owner was very nice.

This place. The whole place is a treasure, I love old books. Beyond that though, this place has some real treasure inside. Ultra rare books abound. Priced reasonably

Exactly what you want when entering a used book store- old, well loved books, a wood stove (for ultimate coziness) and rows and rows of books to get lost into. 📚

It's fine. Fairly unorganized with most books being ancient. Prices are hit and miss. You may find something you'd like if you're willing to dig around some.

Honestly everything you'd want in a used bookstore. A Mish mash of treasures, half organized half chaos. Just lovely and ridiculous and perfect

Lovely, cozy bookstore found several wonderful books. The owner should hire a local English major or someone to organize the place though.

Hidden jem. If it's open when you pass it you are in for a treat. If you don't see a book ask the gentleman. He has boxes upstairs for almost every author.
