I've been here one time and I had such a great experience that you'll probably think this review is sponsored. It was busy yet I was assisted by two employees helping me find what I needed. Normally, when you need something on a top shelf you end up waiting at least a few minutes for someone to get a ladder... It was almost instantaneous. Prices were fair. The only downside was the parking situation but I can't fault them for being busy. I know it was only one visit but the customer service was truly exceptional.

You really can't beat the service here. Sure, the store seems a little packed in but all you need is to ask an associate and they bring you right to the product you are looking for. I have never gone here and heard, "sorry, we don't have that" because the carry everything you need for home projects and repairs. 6 out of 5 stars.

Great service by very kind people. Whenever I visit this store i’m greeted with a warm welcome and workers are always willing to help if you have questions. Recently I worked with Erich and he was great - helping me find and order some specialty screws which came in less than a week.

I’ve been a customer of Berger Hardware for over 30 years. They are a throwback to a time when customer service and satisfaction were important. They have a knowledgeable and helpful staff. Many of the faces have remained constant which must say a lot about them as employers. They stock 100x what a big box offers in 100th the square footage. They’re the best!

Great service. Super knowledgeable caring people. Great inventory. I always go to them first for all my paint and hardware needs. They also have an excellent appliance store next door with the same top quality service. You will not waste a lot of time and money buying things in the wrong sizes that you don't need the way you do with those incompetent big box stores, especially that orange box store!

Hands down the best hardware store i've ever been in. The staff is amazing. Lucky to have this place nearby. Some items may may cheaper at Home Depot, but overall the pricing is very competitive, and in some cases cheaper. The customer support you receive far exceeds that of Home Depot or any hardware. Lucky to have this place nearby. I hope it sticks around for a long time

We had a grease fire in our Weber grill that got out of control quickly. The guys here repaired the damaged unit so we didn’t have to trash it. Their customer service was impeccable! Everything from pick up to drop off was seamless. They are a very professionally run reliable business and we would definitely use them again in the future. Thanks again!

The help is incredible. They are usually very knowledgeable and they usually have what you are looking for.. If they don't they'll order it or find a substitute which will work. I have not waited for someone to approach me and ask me if I needed help. This is a very large hardware store and I dare say it has everything and anything you require. This is the best hardware store in the area hands down.

Prices are slightly higher than competitors like Home Depot but that is expected. They have good variety and friendly salespeople. It's a short drive away so I end up saving money in gas anyway.They always have what I need when in a rush. I just wish they were open later instead of earlier.

I am so happy to still have a regular hardware store still in business after all of these Mass chains opened up. The service and Burger Hardware puts Home Depot, Lowe's and any other of these large chain stores to shame . This Mass chain stores put so many other mom and pop hardware stores out of business. But still, everyone at Berger is polite, courteous and so helpful. I can't say enough about them. You never have to look for them, They come & find you to see what they can do to help you. The place is simply terrific, Five stars is not enough ******. I truly wish that these large chain stores would go out of business and more stores like Burger reopened.I would be happy to pay more money for items that I would buy at a neighborhood mom-and-pop hardware store because it supports local business and keeps our middle class thriving.Julio F Zallo

I needed a mortar product and Berger Hardware in Hawthorne was one of only two stores to have it in stock near me(No the big two did not have it , and it is nice to support the little guys anyway.)Berger has its own parking lot uoon entry we asked where the item was. The young man whom we asked did notbknow where the item was, but within moments a scond employee was paged and led us directly to the item.The store is part old fashioned- knowledgeable workers able to give advice- and also modern- it carries traditional hardware and also the seasonal and convenience items.

Have been a patron since moving to the area a few years ago and being very honest I can say that there isn't a thing you could need that they don't have. I'm not exaggerating either. How about motor brushes for an old Porter-Cable drill? Berger had em!

Hands down the best hardware store i'v ever been in. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. The products on the shelves are neatly organized, clearly labeled and priced right. If all hardware stores were like this home depot would no exist.

It is a pleasure to shop at Bergers (in comparison to the nightmare of shopping at Home Depot). There is always knowledgeable staff immediately available to help you find what you are looking for and to answer any questions that you might have. This is especially helpful for and comforting to those of us who do know know a lot about fixing things. I bought a lawn mower and a snow blower there because I had confidence that if I had a problem, there would be someone reliable there to answer my questions or help make the situation right.

Yesterday when my son and I walked into the store with a broken lacrosse stick, we were guided by cheerful staff to an amazing young man named Eric. Eric explained to my son the problem and showed him how to reattach the head to the stick, Eric drilled the couple of screws we had and added a third, that we paid 36 cents for-including tax. Let's all support our local stores. More that a store, an education!

My compliments to the owners of Bergers. I recently went there after wasting hours and multiple trips to home depo. No one at home depo gave me the time and knowledge the man in the plumbing department gave me. He patiently showed me a better approach for my project and actually showed me how the parts interconnected. I do not think their pricing was high and best of all they saved me time. I should have went there first.

I cannot recommend Berger Hardware highly enough. It reminds me of the way businesses like this used to be. What really stood out here was a gentleman whose name if I recall correctly was Joe. He helped us back in the nuts, bolts, and washers portion of the hardware section. I needed a shim of sorts to fix my grandma's antique wardrobe doors. Joe's dad happened to have worked installing large doors on commercial buildings so he knew exactly what I was trying to do. They didn't have anything that would work perfectly, but Joe came up with an idea of how to cut a washer into what I needed. Since I was visiting from out of state and didn't have the necessary tools, Joe actually took and cut the washers for me free of charge. It is hard to find employees that actually care about customer service these days and who will take the time to help solve a problem for a customer. I'm sure that the couple dozen screws and washers I purchased didn't make them a lot of money but I know that whenever my family and their friends who live in the area have any hardware needs this will be the place they'll go. I cannot thank you enough for your help Joe.

This is an extremely unsafe place to walk into in these times. Most of their staff had their noses sticking out of their masks, and quite a few either had their masks completely off or wrapped around their chins. They wouldn't even raise their masks when customers came up to them to ask for help.

Everyone is friendly except this one employee. He’s youngish, wears glasses, and has facial hair.I asked for a propane fill and another employee told me kindly that my canister is out of date. No problem. Then I asked how to check the date on the canisters because I had another one at home. That’s when the rude employee butted in and kept repeating “that one is too old.” “Ya ain’t getting that filled anywhere here.”That wasn’t my question. So yeah, everyone but him is respectful.

I walked away from Berger Hardware smiling today. Paul helped me with some keys that were a bit tricky as I have had problems over the years getting copies made. He was patient and took the extra time to make sure it was correct. The simple things go a long way and I am inclined to visit them first the next time I need larger hardware needs.

Sept 2021, this is a great Hardware Store with knowledgeable and friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you out. I rather come here then those big box stores even if the prices are a little higher.

Local convenient store, good choices of merch. A worker there offered to help while I was reviewing labels on rust breaking lube sprays, his advice wasn't helpful though.
