I boarded a pet here and can't say enough good things about them. They didn't mind when I called multiple times to check on her. They have very nice facilities and even have her a bath for free. When I picked up my dog, she was relaxed and happy and her usual energetic self. It was as if she hadn't noticed I was gone. I highly recommend them.

PROS:I loved taking my dog here. The vet is extremely professional, well spoken and to the point. As a med student I appreciate that he explained his rationale behind his medical decision making and felt informed as an owner. Spotlessly clean clinic which is greatly appreciated. I hate going into clinics to find dirty floors or clumps of animal hair in the exam rooms.CONS:I will say they are significantly more expensive and I can’t personally afford it as a student. I will have to stick to another vet with comparable care in the meantime. There was an error when I asked for medication the was supposed to be the “plus” version but they didn’t have it so I had to go and back forth with them to return it. However, this wasn’t the veterinarian’s fault but the person at the front desk. Overall, I don’t think this warrants a lower rating. I wish I just double checked my bag before I left.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They are will to as we're any questions you may have. Their services are extremely simple and efficient. We have visited them for standard checkups and emergencies and every time they are easy to schedule and echo visit has only lasted about 30min with no wait time.Dr. Smith is amazing. An incident between our do and a porcupine brought up a need for an emergency visit and a lot of questions. He was extremely accommodating and helpful.

I had to board my dog for 2 weeks because of my surgery. While there he lost 4 lbs and has so much more energy. He climbs the stairs faster then me, I used to have to wait for him. I my opinion I think Dr. Smith is a great veterinarian I would recommend him and staff to any and all. They are the best.

This hospital took us in last minute, first thing in the morning, as a new customer they've never met with an animal they've never met. My dog was dying and no other clinic had a veterinarian at 8 am. It was an emergency and he was available immediately. Dr. Smith did everything he could, but it was too late. We got to see his body after and we choose arrangements for him. When my husband came back to get the ashes, I cried from all the things they had done/made for us to remember him by. Truly so touched by everything.I continue to come here with our new dog, who can't seem to stay healthy or stop eating things, and Dr. Smith continues to be a kind compassionate vet who is available when we need him.

Dr. James Smith, his wife Cheryl, Missy, & Erin and all other staff deserve MORE than a 5 star rating. This is the most caring, yet professional veterinary's office I have ever done with business with. I have been a client now for 5 years and we have certainly been through so much together with my 3 dogs. I have called several times for emergency services and they have always been there for me immediately. I have been hugged during the trying times, received follow up phone calls to just ask how the babies are doing etc.... had long talks about situations with the animals. There is no other vet I would ever want to use. I have never felt more comfortable and my animals more loved in a time of need or everyday care. I just want to say thank you to all of them and they are appreciated and again I highly recommend them for any service you may ever need for any pet. Thank you, Junell Gray of Amsterdam, N.Y.

Cornell educated, spotlessly clean facility, prices that are reasonable and most importantly Dr. Smith impresses me as a man "in it" for the animals. I miss Dr Hanson....I think I have found his equal.
