This store looks nice, but the aisles are not properly labeled. I couldn't find a few things and even employees couldn't tell me where to find them.

Only had one cashier on, so I had to ring myself myself. The machine was slow and kept sending errors. Wouldn't expect coupons, so I had to have the cashier input them. That took about 5 minutes 😳. I was late getting to my appointment.

We came in from Ohio for a funeral. I had ordered two Signature Sub Trays, a Roll-up Tray, and a large Cheese and Veggie Tray over the phone from Mike. He was friendly and answered all of my questions. When we went to pick up the Trays, they were ready and looked delicious. Many guests asked us where the food had come from - they, like us, were impressed with the freshness, appearance and quality. Thanks, Mike and Tops!

Tops has a 2 major problems that send many customers to the competition. 1. There are no human beings at any of the registers until 9am EVEN THOUGH the sign says they're open much earlier. I don't consider the store really open when you can take the time to shop there BUT there is no one to work the register, get your bags, scan items that do not have a bar code OR ask for assistance when needed. 2. Produce is usually NOT fresh. I've been tempted to take photos of things I pass over due to mold, shriveled skin, fruit flies and are outdated on the package yet still on the shelf. The other item I have purchased 5 different times are frozen yogurt and ice cream treats. They obviously had been defrosted at some point and put back into the freezer. Not good.

In general, I like Tops a lot. Nice layout, good selection, helpful employees. My dislike is the marketing strategies. Many items are very overpriced so they can do "buy 5, get 3 for half off" type advertising. Who wants to endure that?I would prefer consistent, competitive pricing.That's why Sam's Club and Costco have become so successful. I'm just saying...

The employees are always super friendly and helpful but that does not make up for extremely poor quality produce, horrific smelling display areas, questionable meat, and deceiving weekly specials. It's not buy one get one free and you double the price of the first one during the week of the special only to see it return to half price the following week. Knowingly selling aged and expering meat products is bad business. Changing the expiration date to extend the saleable time frame is unsafe on so many levels and it's just wrong. I feel like I shouldn't have to explain that but there you go.Somehow, Walmart has a higher quality selection of produce minus the smell. Unless, of course, it's close to the first of the month. Then all bets are off.

This place is getting worse, if that's possible. Nearly every refrigerator is leaking and all floors are wet and hazardous. Shelves are Constantly empty, especially the fresh produce area. Today whole isles were empty, and when I asked a member of staff what was going on they said they "didn't know, as they tell us nothing". So as one can see management is not informing their employees let alone cudtomers. Just an all round badly run store with no store management ever present or availble!Update. Feb 22: I didn't think it possible, but this place is getting worse! They have dropped several lines, and only sell the cheapest of products, and low end items that make this place not worth the effort. If you want zero choice low end products at high prices then this is the place for you...not me!

Only nice thing about this store is the meat case. Every time I go in there, the cuts are pristine. Absolutely incredible customer service from the tall meat cutter, his name is Thomas. His case is one of the nicest I've seen. I go there for the meat but get my other groceries at Walmart. Much too pricey for me, but honestly, I'd pay top dollar for Thomas' excellent cuts and fantastic customer service.

Everyone flock to Tops, they just got in the best Icream-Alden's Organic. It is the best tasting ice cream you've ever had. Excellent!!! Thank you to management for working so diligently to satisfy your customers. I applaud you!!!

Tops markets are always my first choice for mercantile meandering! I love their wide variety of products and their friendly, knowledgeable staff. There are always excellent deals to be had and both the bakery and the deli always have top notch selections.

Top's is a slightly above average grocery store. It's well organized and clean. It has good selection and prices. However, there is nothing that makes it stand out from it's competition. I tend to try to go to Wegmans when possible as an alternative to Top's, but it's further away.

Overall I had great experience there. Lady at the service desk was polite along with the lady at the deli counter. The reason for not giving 5 stars is the old lady at self checkout. Now I get that they need to make sure everything gets scanned. I use to work at Safeway and I had to do the same. What bothered me was every item I scanned she would say "what did you just put in the bag?" After each item I scanned it would go in the bag one by one. I got 10 items so imagine being asked 10 times "what did you just put in the bag?". I got apple juice and I did not put that in a bag but set it next to my other bag that had food in it. Before I put my card in she told me I didn't scan the apple juice and that i needed to do it again. I had corrected her and said no it shows on the screen "vt apl cktl 64F 1.09" she kept saying I didn't scan it. I had proof yet she kept going on about I didn't scan it. So after a little bit I became sturn and irritated when talking to her. I don't come to Tops to be interrogated over 1.09 off brand apple juice. I want to pay for ALL my stuff and go on about my day. If they feel the need to do that to customers then maybe they should open more check out lines again!

A medium sized tops store.Deli was all fresh, sliced to order. No trays of presliced lunchmeat. Aisles were uncluttered .We walked rigjt up to checkout, no lines.Large selection of beer, both cold and floor stock available. Plenty of free parking.

Nice store, but their plan to look more like Wegman's falls considerably short. Their bakery's rye bread at Tops is still the best in the area though.

I work retail and shop alot. Today's experience (which was worse than usual) I ran into produce to get ginger. The guy stocking abruptly stood there annoyed that I was in his way. Scooted his way in then refused to let me back in to get more ginger. No greeting either. Then while passing many others, you get a miserable stare. At checkout, could've possibly been a manager. Miserable stare like I was bothering her. No greet. Ignorant and rude. Made me burning... You can't learn to treat customers with any form of respect then you belong working the graveyard shift.! Presentation is descent in there, but I'd never food shop there just because of how I'm treated. My family also agrees with me due to prior experiences. Hopefully someone will read this and do something about it.

Shelves are nearly always short of stock. Simple items like laughing cow cheese, as an example, are missing from the shelf for weeks. Same with many other mainstay products, with some missing for months! No intergrated re-order system obviously, so you can't rely on getting your shopping done each time you visit, so you go elsewhere...been this way for years, go figure!!!

Shelves are empty. I thought maybe it was too early this morning when I stopped to grab some groceries. Decided to come back later after they had some time. This afternoon it's still empty. Is this one closing too? If not, they probably will because there is nothing to buy.

Tops is a good store. It's close by but they are a little expensive. The store I go to off Pultney St. has a bad odor alot of time like sewage backup.
