I had an amazing experience at Maximum K9 Service. I brought my nine month old German shepherd, pup in for 9 sessions +6 sessions of 1 on 1 training with Sherry. He is my fourth German Shepherd and we had done puppy kindergarten elsewhere. I wanted a dog who was not only obedient, but who could participate fully in our active lifestyle. I have four grandchildren 7 and under. Through Sherry’s excellent guidance and training, our boy Mika is an active member of our family. She tailored each training session to meet the needs of our lifestyle. As issues came up, we tackled them during our one on one sessions. We trained in the big room, the lobby with customers and dogs coming in and out as well as training outside. Sherry was very patient with me and her style of teaching was nothing short of amazing. She made herself available to me in between sessions via text. I sent her videos at times if I was struggling in a situation and she gave me great feedback. When I did things wrong at home, we spent time in our next session discussing and practicing the proper technique/response. She never made me feel anything other than perfectly capable! I will forever be grateful for my time with Sherry and I highly recommend Maximum K9!!!

Maximum Canine in Deer Park NY, and sport trainer Jim Burns are both 5 ⭐️ in our book!After interviewing several trainers, and employing 2 previously for obedience work, our (F) Rottweiler was a natural fit with Jim when we began protection work. As her handler I found his communication to be excellent with us both.Under pressure, at times my inexperience would lead to missed queues or an incorrect command, Jim would quickly adapt and feed me the correct action so that my dog would not lose momentum, or we would play it again to reinforce the correct pattern.He set my expectations for her to realistic levels based on our strengths and weaknesses, occasionally reviewing the basics, because you can never repeat those enough.We look forward to our next training session with Jim as we progress in our quest to be IGP world champions! *OR*, to be a more confident pet who ignores non-threatening distractions on our daily walks, unless there is ever a bad situation which requires her strict, unwavering guarding behavior when called for by her handler.

Joe and Maximum K9 services was recommended to us for our 11 month old St Bernard, Kaia, that was becoming reactive around new people and surroundings and we could not be happier! We started one on one trainings with Jimmy and then put her in the Board and Train program and she had Katie as her trainer. The board and train program changed Kaia for the better. Katie’s patience, calmness and understanding of Kaia made us feel so comfortable. Kaia is now more comfortable and so are we. We wouldn’t be feeling this way if of was not for the experiences we had with Maximum K9. We start trainings with our other dog Oakley and are looking forward to the next level classes with Kaia! Cannot recommend Maximum k9 enough, all the staff is amazing. Katie has gone above and beyond for my reactive 1.5 year old German shepherd Dane, both during training classes and even while he is there boarding for vacations! After completing level 3 group classes, Katie has still remained in touch to answer any questions I have and to give me tips on how to prepare for level 4. The dedication and love for the job that Katie and the rest of the staff at Maximum k9 have does not go unnoticed.

I recently enrolled my 7 month old pup in a training program with Nicole at Maximum K9 and she truly exceeded all expectations during my dog's training program. Her expertise and dedication were evident from day one, as she crafted a personalized training plan that transformed my dog's behavior and truly went above and beyond for my pup.What set Nicole apart was her commitment to not only my dog, but to me as well. She not only trained my dog but also provided me with invaluable guidance and support every step of the way. Her regular updates and genuine care for my dog's well-being went above and beyond. Maximum Canine was the right choice for me and my dog. I was advised to do private sessions with Jimmy. He has given us a solid foundation to continue training for life and helped my dog and I go beyond our goals. Jimmy was our trainer for our 1 year old Lab mix, Callie. He was excellent and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of dog training. Jimmy was very knowledgeable and Callie bonded very quickly with Jimmy. Jimmy taught me and my husband what we needed to do to get Callie to respond appropriately. During our sessions, if Callie didn’t display the appropriate behavior we were looking for, Jimmy taught us different methods of engaging Callie and thereby correcting her behavior. Everything he taught us made sense and Callie’s behavior is much improved! Thank you Jimmy for all of your help, knowledge and expertise!!

Sherry was great! our pup was reactive and unable to go on walks around our town. after our private training sessions we are comfortable taking him on walks around and he is well behaved on our pet store visits! I didn't believe that he would make that much progress!We’ve also done level 1 with our puppy and Morgan& Toki since and both were great! Tito has completed level three with Katie who was awesome!

We just had our babygirl Tigua dropped off after a 3 1/2 week Board and Train with Katie as her handler/trainer. We had some trepidation about leaving her alone in a long term boarding situation, but as a puppy rescue from Antigua, she began showing signs of anxiousness and being ill at ease with strangers, and even friends and family visiting. Barking was constant, to the point we didn't know how she wasn't losing her voice. The training she required was more than we could provide, and we had to realize that for her own confidence and comfortability she really needed expert assistance. While we were away we received constant updates, via photo's, video's and calls with Katie. She's home and her demeanor and obedience skills are SO FAR above what we hoped for, we could not recommend Maximum K9, and in particular her trainer Katie enough. We will be following up with more training as we help our little furbaby grow and learn.. Thank you, Thank you! We will happily share more of our own videos in the future!

Talia and Jeanine at Maximum K9 were so helpful with selecting some items I needed for my dog, Rugar. I came in looking for a crate and they helped me to choose the perfect one. Talia called over to the warehouse to see if it was in stock and after some discussion, we decided it best that I order online for pickup at the store. I also got a slip lead (Jeanine showed me how to use it) and a tug toy and bone that Talia said her dog loves! Their expertise and assistance made the process easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of quality pet products and knowledgeable staff. I cannot recommend Maximum K9 and especially our trainer Morgan enough. We started private lessons when my Australian Shepherd, Helix was 4 months old. Seeing the progress and results of our training has been so rewarding. Not just because of the physical learned behaviors but because of the genuine building of our relationship, which I definitely credit to Morgan. Morgan is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and caring. She truly loves dogs and cares about your progress. She always took the time to make sure I understood exactly how to best communicate with Helix, giving such valuable insight about dogs behavior. It really feels like she “speaks dog.” Helix absolutely loves her and we can’t wait to go back for more! Everyone we’ve met at the facility has been incredibly kind and helpful!

If you want trainers who essentially treat you and your dogs like family, this is the place. We started with our dog we adopted, already 1, and super dog reactive. Morgan was and has been nothing short of amazing! I do not recognize our oldest dog because of how well behaved he truly is after board and train. We left him for four weeks, he spent time training, we went in to train with him, and then we had a follow up home visit to continue to work on training. We then used them to start puppy training with our second dog, and then we decided to also board and train with him. Morgan also trained him and he is such a well behaved dog. Even beyond leaving we had our oldest in their lifetime classes with our dogs to continue to work and train them. We have done level 2, where you go out in public to put your dogs to the test. Katie does a wonderful job!!We really can’t recommend Morgan enough though as a trainer! She cares so much about the dogs and even beyond leaving maximum. They helped to us get the dogs baby ready. Helped when it came to getting our anxious dogs nails trimmed. We use them for boarding and the dogs already know everyone there. We are so so so thankful for maximum but especially to Morgan!!

Brought my 4/5 month old Great Pyrenees puppy to take the puppy class and it was fantastic!They are able to take an individualized approach for the needs of the various dogs in the class which I thought was an added bonus to see all steps of progression.All the staff is so friendly and informative as well. The retail area is my dog's favorite because of all the amazing treats they have for sale (if you have a big dog check out the giant femur bone).

We can’t thank you Maximum K9 enough! We were having a specialized issue with our pup eating our socks and our child’s bibs, socks and diapers. We’ve tried everything and even had training done elsewhere that sadly didnt’ work. From the moment I met Joe at our evaluation I was truly impressed by not only him but his staff. We did the 4 week board and train which was specialized to our dogs needs. Our trainer was Toki and she is fantastic! On day 1 after her evaluation we went over what our goals with the training were and how we can achieve them. Toki kept us updated on all Willows progress and would send videos and photos every few days. At our first training session with Toki and Willow I was floored. By the end of the 4 weeks we saw a massive shift in Willows behavior and can’t thank Toki enough. Willow has now been home for a few weeks and we are keeping up with the training sets that Toki provided for us. Toki has been folioing up and giving us feedback on what we’ve been seeing. Thank you all again !!! We cant wait to come to our first LIFE TIME CLASS!!!

I brought my Bernese Mountain dog puppy Bear for nine weeks of training with Morgan. I was very impressed with the training. Bear was taught many commands was taught to walk on a leash properly and in my control at all times, even though he’s 100 pounds. Morgan was a pleasure to deal with. She worked through all my nervousness and made me feel very comfortable. I. would like to thank her for Helping Bear achieve all the goals we set for him. Anybody looking for training should definitely consider Maximum k9 services they achieve what they set out to do.

We bought our vizsla pup in for training with Sherry who came highly recommended and she didn’t disappoint! She has taught us so much about understanding dogs and how to properly deal with their behavior. There’s things you don’t even realize you do daily that could have a negative impact on your training and the result you want to achieve. She does a very good job of breaking it down for us. Also dealing with problems right away every time they arise. Our dog is so much better now than when we started and he still has work to do and it’s all about consistency. Sherry takes her job very seriously and she’s amazing with dogs. Our dog immediately behaves in her presence. The crew over there are always super friendly but serious about the safety of your beloved pup. The nutritionist has also been extremely helpful and readily available. Highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to have a well behaved pup.

Highly recommend Maximum K9 for anything that has to do with dog training, health, behavior, or nutrition!!! We got our Rottweiler puppy through Maximum K9 and the experience was top notch. We can honestly say that we know if there are any questions or needs we have, these people are now like family and will help us with anything from boarding to training to health and any dog related issues that may arise. Can’t say enough great things about the store itself as it has everything you could possibly need for your dog’s health and nutrition. They sell large dog crates as well that are safe and comfortable for home use or transport which we purchased and are very happy with. The owner Joe is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional and his staff is the best I have ever seen when it comes to questions about dogs, dog training, and more. We did group puppy training and then private family training with our dog and couldn’t be happier with the results. Morgan is the trainer we used and we give her 5 stars!!! Highly recommend. We plan to continue to this relationship to keep a safe, fun, healthy relationship with our dog for years to come. Thank you Maximum K9!

The staff at Maximum K9 is awesome and helped us with our new dog Guinness. But the superstar was Katie - Guinness’ personal trainer. Not only did she focus on all of our specific needs, she got Guinness to master so many commands. What I especially valued about all that Katie did for us was that she loved and cared for Guinness as if he was her own. We could not be more appreciative of all that Katie and Maximum K9 did to support Guinness. His growth is incredible!!!!

My dogs absolutely love these treats! My dog Basil needs turkey as his main protein and these treats are perfect! We love the limited ingredients and that everything is sourced in the US. My dogs could barely wait for us to take them out of the bag. We highly recommend!My cat was also very interested in these treats! Hopefully cat treats will be made soon as well.

If you’re searching around for training for your pup, you may as well stop your search here and look no further. Maximum k9 is an incredibly fantastic facility, to say the least. I put my Doberman, Reina, up for a month stay for their board and train program and from start to finish everyone was very helpful and informative. They kept in contact with me daily, not only detailing her progress, but also sending lots of videos and pictures. I’ve no words to describe how happy I was with that on its own. Katie was my pups trainer, absolutely amazing person and trainer. Huge huge huge thank you and shoutout to her for everything she’s done. I am incredibly grateful. Reina came home transformed and watching her at the facility and with Katie you can tell she really loved being there. She was loved and cared for and it shows. Katie is extremely knowledgeable, patient and caring. I’ve learned a ton myself from her on this journey between the demos, off site visit, and the in-home visits and am very excited to continue learning with their precision classes, lifetime classes and the offsite obedience classes. I could certainly brag about this facility and their staff endlessly and they will be my only recommendation for anyone that needs assistance with their pups. My rambling certainly speaks to my excitement haha but to end off I just want to express my gratitude by again giving a massive shoutout and thank you to the staff of maximum K9, as well as Joe, and especially Katie for going absolutely above and beyond my expectations in every way. So relieved to have found a training location that is truly knowledgeable about dogs. I’m so impressed by their professionalism and how well they work with them. Not only have they given my dog more confidence, but they’ve also given me confidence as an owner on how to handle her when she’s reactive/nervous. I can also keep up with her training because Maximum K9 taught me how to properly do so. I truly appreciate the work that Toki, my dog’s trainer, put in as well as her patience and love, because it’s clear she really cares which matters to me a lot. We've been taking our Labrador Cato for group classes here with Toki since he was 4 months old, we've just finished up the level 2 group classes and could not be happier with his progress. There's very few other trainers on long island with the level of care and expertise that you'll find at Max K9. We're looking forward to continuing Cato's training with the skills that we've gained through the group classesUpdate April 2024:We've just finished a round of private training sessions with Sherry to tackle a few specific topics that we were encountering with Cato and to prep for level 3.Sherry was excellent at helping us understand how we can assist Cato in making the right choices during increasingly difficult encounters. She also taught us how to better use the training tools to give corrections at exactly the right moment, as well as reintroducing some treat training when increasing the difficulty.We were able to bring in other dogs to our sessions as well to tackle some reactivity issues that we were encountering. Overall these extra private sessions with Sherry were extremely worthwhile in both preparing Cato for the next level of training, and helping us with the more specific issues that we were having.

My boyfriend takes our Doberman here for Precision and Obedience classes. He is usually more involved in her training so I was excited to attend their Canines and Coffee workshop. It was such an informative session and helped me realize things I am doing right and other things I need to work on. There was a nutrition portion as well as a training portion and I found both to be very helpful and informative. Everyone at this facility is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I know our dog is in great hands at Maximum K9 and it has helped us immensely to become better pet owners.
