I bought my cockatiel from here and he is the sweetest thing I've ever had. This store treats birds with kindness and respect. They bring in Birds when they are babies so you can have them for a longer time. They also but you come in on daily visits as you please to see your bird once you've adopted one so that you make a bond. First flight has bird food toys and all the stuff you need to bring home your new pet.

Clean, Personable and Reasonably Priced. I went to many bird/pet specialty stores on Long Island before I came here. How I wish I would have just come here first! But then I wouldn't realize how great they are compared to other shops. Nice bird selection.. I got a Green Cheek Conure for at least $150-$200 less than the other shops. I went to Petco as well as a breeder and a "well known" shop on L.I) but First Flight beat them ALL! My bird is now 1yr old. He is healthy and has a good personality . I love my bird! I had him DNA sexed as well when I purchased him (cost an extra $50). I also bought his cage from here (Kings Cage) also reasonably priced. I continually come here to have his grooming done and board him. They make us Both feel at home and I know my bird is well cared for. First Flight is not close for me...its somewhat of a trek but I Happily do it bc they're so Good.

This place is very kind and caring. The owner is a very nice man, I Purchase a Sun conure a very beautiful bird, his staff is kind and courteous, if you ever get a chance to visit his store I’m very sure you’ll be very pleased with the service, they offer DNA test with your exotic bird, they also offer a variety of toys and cages for your new bird , all types of foods and supplements as well be sure to stop by and visit, it is also a great blood pressure reliever to be surrounded by therapy of birds

Prior to purchasing our bird, the store owner and staff we very friendly and welcoming. They invite you to come in as often and would urge you to ask any questions about owning an exotic bird. They were not pushy.We purchased our first bird after 2-3 months of visits. Each visit they continued to be attentive. My daughter was very excited getting her birdday present early and absolutely loves her.

Purchased a Jenday Conure there and they were so polite and helpful. It took us 2 weeks to find our perfect bird and we felt no sales pressure at all. We have since boarded him there 2 times and there were no problems. We would call everyday while on vacation and they were happy to tell us how he was doing. Without a doubt the very best bird store around.

Wow! This place is amazing! The staff are very kind and know exactly what their doing. They also take to birds out to socialize them. I really like going around and saying hi to all the feathered friends. I'm just might get a Green Cheek Conure from them but I'm also looking at a good breeder, we'll see. I really enjoy talking to Blue the Amazon, he always has a lot to say. I'm 14 but I really want to work their when I'm old enough. I have nothing but praise for this store.

Bought a baby Green cheek conure. Everyone was so accommodating. We were buying a parakeet and quickly changed our minds. The baby was still not weaned so I had to wait to bring him home. He is so handsome tame and friendly. He has stolen my heart. Will definitely go back to this store and highly recommend them.

Elderly owner was very pleasant and helpful staff but unfortunately the quaker parrot I purchased in 6/19 is quite neurotic and untrainable, bird was calm and friendly in the store. Not my first Quaker which was very calm and lovable. Very disappointed and actually want to part with it. My thinking that this bird was given up by a previous owner because they had no birth certificate available.

Love this place. Go there every other week for food and I always make the rounds and say hello to everyone. Love seeing the birds faces when I say their name and I just adore Blue and Princess in the front. Tom takes great care of my parrot whenever I need his beak trimmed. Very friendly staff and always clean and well cared for birds for sale.

I drove 3 and a half hours to this store to get my Indian Ringneck, and it was well worth it! I chose to pick him(i hope Lol) up early and take over the hand feeding, and the staff showed me exactly how to do it and made sure I was ready to go. They helped me pick the best food option to ween him onto and were extremely helpful. Sofar he is the sweetest bird, extremely hand friendly and loves bobbing his head and playing! Was a bit hectic in a smaller scale store, but I would recommend it to anybody! They took care of me so well and i am much appreciative of it. Well worth the day trip and 7.5 hours of driving.

Looking at previous reviews of this place it looked like a good bird shop. Unfortunately that was not my experience upon arrival. Apparently this shop recently moved to512 Middle Country Rd, Coram, NY 11727. Perhaps at there previous location things were better.Here the birds were in small cages, especially the Macaws who had barely enough room to turn around no less even spread their wings to full reach. Multiple birds in one very small cage. Most huddling to keep warm, the air conditioner was on too high for the majority of tropical/warm climate birds in store. Not nearly enough toy stimulation for all of the birds. Toys that were in some cages were made of fabric which is known to cause crop impaction. Only wooden dowel perches were made available to birds, which is known to cause foot sores and arthritis long term from only having one size perch available. I would just like to see better living conditions that are condusive to the animals being happy not merely surviving because they have food and water.

Great spot for our Quaker Parrot. also good for boarding since the little guy needs company and woudl be so lonely if he was home for hours between house sitters coming to the house! Reasonable rates and grooming and etc fees are not too bad either. Okay good quality and fair prices on food in bulk or bag.

Extremely informative , super clean store and cages and friendly happy birds. Numerous bird that talk intermittently. Tons of food options, tons of hanging treats and friendly staff. Nephew purchased a bird and the staff not only placed in transport container but put in a loose bag to minimize the cold wind blowing today.Extremely professional staff.

I would be lost without Tom and his store. I have a blue and gold macaw named Pongo who needs to be boarded when we’re on vacation. It’s not easy to take care of a large parrot but the staff is always welcoming and dedicated to taking the best care of him. He is well fed, his cage is immaculate and he receives a lot of attention. We couldn’t leave home without them.

Update: THEY ARE NOT CLOSED!! I recently found out they moved 1 mile east of the previous location. I have been there twice already. I am so happy.Apparently they are permanently closed. I have tried going there during the hours posted during COVID. I just tried calling and no one answers. I tried sending an email and it was rejected as an invalid email. If they have moved I would love to know this.

I paid $475 for a pineapple conure. It was sweet little bird. I took the bird home and put it in a new cage brought for it. It seemed ok because he was climbing all around exploring and getting use to new home. Two days later the bird was less active. I thought it was part of the process of getting use to his surroundings and his neighbor next door a Quaker parrot that went through the same process. I went out for a while and when I returned home I went to check on it and it was on the bottom of the cage with blood seeping out of its nostrils. This happened on a Sunday night. I was going to take him to a vet Monday morning and found him dead on the floor of the cage. I feel this bird might have inherited a genetic defect from breeding. Pineapple conures are really Black Cheek Parakeets with a color mutation. I took him to First flight told them how I found him. They offered to give me another bird. The manager said she want to examine the bird. I gave her the bird and insisted that bird was injured. She was very rude and treated me like l was crook then offered me a bird at 25% off. I thought that’s was strange. I refused and walked out. I noticed things about the bird like it didn’t have a tag on it’s leg like my other bird that came from a professional breeder. May be bird was inbred in the store. I would never recommend them to anyone looking for an exotic bird.

Kind of over price, I was interesting getting a bird but he try to push to sale me an older one ,that give me a red flag, the owner is a nice guy ,I just don't like being push around so I left and I end up find it cheaper out there.
