I cannot recommend Jocko's Ruff House enough! Zach developed a personalized training program to fit my dog and our goals. He was very professional, efficient and knowledgeable. He did an excellent job explaining the training throughout the process, he was always available to answer questions in a supportive and friendly manner. Zach made sure as a handler he taught us the proper techniques and tools to help my dog continue to thrive and develop after his training was done.I am so thankful to have Jocko's Ruff House as part of our community. My dog absolutely loved going to Jocko's, I will be using them for boarding, day care and any future training needs. The only thing you will regret is not checking this place out sooner.

Zach & his company, Common Canine are amazing! He was recommended by a former client of his….after seeing that pup’s behavior, I drove up from S. Florida with a rambunctious 11 month old yellow lab! The pup, Rip, didn’t follow basic commands & was terrible on walks. He was with Zach for four weeks and returned a totally different pup! So calm and loving, the change in his behavior was amazing! (Rip had previously been in training in Miami but we didn’t see any change in his behavior) was it worth the 24 hr drive?! Absolutely! I cannot recommend Common Canine enough! Myself, and the owners are extremely pleased, satisfied & thankful for Zach’s amazing training! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!🐾 💜

Louie is killing it with training! After a few short wks, he’s following several commands! Place, free, down, heel etc! This 90lb pup is full of energy and really strong, and having this tool to help has been AMAZING!

We rescued our sweet Frisco and while he was very loving with us, he was very difficult to walk, aggressive on his leash when encountering other dogs and had separation anxiety. We couldn't leave the house for errands or even be in the next room without him crying and barking. We did the Board and Train with Zach and when he returned, Frisco was still the sweet dog we knew, but was able to follow commands, was much calmer and less reactive to other dogs. Zach was amazing about answering any questions, and did his follow up visit with us to help us continue to learn. He taught us the best way to communicate with Frisco and was so great to work with. We highly recommend Common Canine and Zach!

We can finally breathe! We had a huge weight on our shoulders feeling as if we needed to hide our two German shepherds from society! We would only bring them for walks in the dark and they would tug and pull and bark making us feel helpless and discouraged so we’d just avoid it altogether. We sent our dogs with Zach for five weeks and they are completely different! We have control! Now we are able to finally breathe and feel confident, and have introduced our dogs to family members and friends and walk them in the day time! Our dogs were extremely reactive/aggressive to any person, dog, car, noise and now they are able to ignore such stimuli. Our dogs life and our quality of life have improved tremendously and we really appreciate Zach’s knowledge and determination!

If you’re considering sending your canine companion to Zach at Common Canine, just do it. We sent our first GSD, Ivy, to Zach and were so impressed that when we got our second GSD, Max, it wasn’t even a question that he would be going to Common Canine for training.Zach was able to make both our GSD’s engaged, obedient members of our family. While Ivy and Max have very different personalities and drives, Zach was able to hone in on their learning styles and provide them with an, in our opinion, advanced basis of obedience, far more than we would have ever been able to do on our own training them. We couldn’t be happier with the results. We will for sure be recommending Common Canine to all we know!

My 3 year old pitt mix has had behavioral issues his whole life. He’s always been nervous and reactive. I took him to Zach and now I have more control over him then I ever have. We recently went hiking to a popular waterfall in the area and he pleasantly sat by my feet while people walked by and around us. He was also in close proximity to another dog without any aggression or pulling. He’s an amazing dog and I am grateful for everything he learned with Zach and also everything I learned as well!!

The training was excellent. We have a Super active dog that likes to do what he wants. After his training he would obey commands and our dog now thrives on being able to obey. He heels everywhere we walk. He comes when we call him when he is off leash. He loves to play and is still the same spirited loving dog but just able to take more direction. We are very thankful for his training.

We took our German Shepard puppy to Zach to board and train . Was a little nervous being away from him for so long but Zach kept us up to date and reassured us all was going well . Could not believe the difference when Maxx came home. We had our first get together today with family coming over and we were worried about how Maxx would interact . We used all the tips that Zach taught us and Maxx was great ! No jumping and only barked for a short period of time . I would highly recommend Zach for any training needed . He knows his stuff and takes the time to not only teach Maxx but also us ! Thank you Zach for taking such good care of Maxx and helping us so that we can truly enjoy our little boy !

My dog Maverick just finished up his board and train and I am blown away by the results! Before I reached out for training I had about given up on him! He is a stubborn male German shepherd who wasn’t at all where I wanted him to be. Constantly pushing boundaries and limits and testing my patience!Upon Mavericks first day in the program Zach spent time talking out my expectations and goals with Maverick. I’m fairly new with handling dogs so he was able to get to the root of our problems and help build a better foundation!I’ve only had Maverick back for a day but in our first training session I can already see so many changes! His heel is so much better, I am starting to get his engagement, he has better clarity with his markers, and he is more reliable on his ecollar! My biggest fear in a board and train with Maverick was the follow up. I knew I needed someone who would help us continue to grow! Zach is very invested in what he does and has given me so many other training tools, as well as support as long as we need it!I am so pleased with this experience! If you need a board and train this is definitely the place to go!!

Can’t thank Zach Abulencia enough! Common Canine has exceeded all expectations, and the program WORKS.Our 1 year old male Rottweiler Duke had fear-aggression of putting a collar on after a bad experience at the vet. He’s also full of energy, extremely loving, but lacked some basic obedience structure. We tried to correct it ourselves, but recognized getting some help might be better for us, and more importantly, better for Duke. The approach of Common Canine is next to none. One of our biggest challenges was the fear aggression with his collar. Zach came over for his first meet and greet with Duke, and within an hour, had Duke’s collar on and off him without any issues. Something we had been trying to accomplish daily, and failed to do. His approach to dogs is extremely calming. It’s a “build trust first, train after” type of approach, both with dog and owner. The day Duke got picked up for his 3-week board and train was not easy. As ridiculous as it might sound to those that aren’t “dog people”, the thought of our boy being away from us for that long was not easy. When Duke was hesitant to leave and didn’t want to get into the van with Zach initially, it definitely was a tough moment for us, feeling like we failed Duke, and it was our fault he had to leave us for 3 weeks and was confused. However, that was also the turning point when I knew we made the right choice to seek training, and picked the right person for the job. Zach spent HOURS out front of our house, going for short walks, petting Duke, I think even letting him take a short nap, until Duke was comfortable enough and settled enough for him to calmly leave. Watching him take that much time, reassured me Duke was going to be in good hands, and well cared for.Throughout the 3 weeks, the pictures and videos were great as we got to see the progress Duke was making, and it was also reassuring to see him happy and enjoying training. A couple days before the 3-week program was complete, Zach sent us a few key videos of things to focus on that would help ensure Duke has a smooth transition back home. It was helpful to have some guidance leading up to the day he came back home. When the day finally arrived, Zach gave us a quick recap of what was covered over the past few weeks, and talked us through how we would proceed with introducing Duke back into the house. He then brought Duke in the back yard, and he patiently waited for us on his “place” to walk over to him, already showing off Duke’s new skills. We spent about an hour learning how to work with Duke ourselves, took him for a short walk, and scheduled our first follow up visit a few weeks out to check in Duke’s progress and continue his new favorite thing to do, training!Day 1 of Duke being home and we’ve gone for several walks, collars go on and come off without issue, he’s calm and controlled in the house but still his normal playful self out in the back yard with our other dog. Instead of being afraid of his collar, he gets excited now and knows having his collar on will lead to fun activities. The program gives you a framework to build on, and an eager pup ready to work with you! They truly thrive on it.If you’re anything like us, we don’t consider the dogs “pets”, they’re part of the family. I wouldn’t trust my dogs with anyone except Common Canine

I cannot say enough positive things about Zach and his training technique! First, the fact that he immersed George into his home and family shows you the love he has for dogs. George went to Zach a "good boy" and came home and obedient boy. This truly was a total LIFE STYLE CHANGE for our family. Zach taught George how to listen to a clear commands. We as a family now have a clear line of communication with George. With this communication came a peaceful dog that knows what is expected of him. What is most remarkable about this training is what Zach taught US. He took the time to meet with me and my family to ensure we continued with the training. He was patient, knowledgeable and it was clear he and Georgie had a bond. I cannot emphasize how much I LOVE working with my dog. This is 100% attributed to 3 things1) Zach taught George the commands2) Zach's technique proved George WANTED to follow them.3) Zach transferred that knowledge to me on HOW to train GeorgeMy house is an active house full of teenagers. Every person that has seen George since training has commented on his transformation and how amazing he is! We, including our dog, could not be happier.Zach and his training technique are exceptional. I highly recommend him!

I cannot thank Zach enough! We've taken our dog to parks, stores and breweries and numerous people have commented on how impressed they are with how well behaved she is. It's never easy to send your puppy away for a long period of time but he sent pictures and update videos along the way. He still checks in on her and I know I can always text him with any questions we have. We will definitely recommend Zach to all of our family and friends. Thank you again for making this experience so seamless and amazing!

Amazing. We couldn’t recommend Common Canine enough! We were stunned with the results. Our dog is so well behaved and trained now. Zach was great to work with, he kept us updated throughout the training and walked us through trainings for home. Can’t say enough good things about our experience. 10/10! Thank you!

It’s never easy to leave your dog somewhere for weeks on end. Zach made us feel good during our first meeting and we knew Lia would be in great hands. Absolutely amazed at the work he did for us. We could not be happier. The update videos to see progress were great. It was so cool to watch Lia’s transformation. If you are looking for a dog trainer in the area, look no further. You will not be disappointed. Looking forward to continuing to work together. Thank you Zach we really appreciate it!

Remi is finally settled back in after a month away at training. Although I spent every day missing my sweet boy, he is now the most well behaved pup and I couldn’t be happier. Going for walks is no longer stressful, as he walks by my side on a loose leash. He no longer eats everything in sight and if he does, he knows a command to spit it out (apparently mulch tastes good). I can enjoy a meal without him hounding me, as he stays on his “place”. When we go to the doggy park, he will come when I call him. The improvements I have seen in such a short time are remarkable! A huge shout out to Zach for providing Remi and I the tools for communication and mutual respect. Thank you for treating Remi like one of your own for the last 4 weeks. We are excited to continue working with you!

I sent my German Shepard to a 3 week board and train at Common Canine. I was beyond impressed at what was accomplished in such a short period of time. He returned with all basic commands (sit, stay, down, come etc.) as well as walking very nicely on the leash. I expressed interest in getting my dog involved in sport as well. Common Canine was able to lay the foundation for sport training going forward. They are able to design a training program for whatever you plan to do with your dog. I recommend Common Canine for obedience training or sport training. I definitely plan to continue to work with Common Canine in the future!
