Beautiful place to stay inside Letchworth state park. Some of the rooms have an amazing view of the waterfall but no matter which room you have you can walk 10ft outside the inn and take in the amazing view.I had my wedding here and it was excellent. The only downside is it's only open for half the year.Nearby activities: It's in a state park with amazing trails and waterfallsWalkability: It's in a state park, idk if the area can get any more walkable.Food & drinks: There is a restaurant on the first floor on the inn

This is for the restaurant. It was the only place in the area for food and we just finished taking pictures with the waterfall. Service was okay, we did have to wait awhile to be seated. The food was mediocre. The Applewood smoked trout was good but for the price we should have gotten more quantity like a few more pieces. Entrees were average, nothing that really stuck out in terms of taste or appearance. Prices should either be lowered or add more quantity to the food, since it’s already pricey.

My family visiting from abroad loved it.The setting is wonderful, gorgeous waiting areas, the parking lot could be in a LOT better shape, though, considering most of the crowds we saw was 60 and up.We came around 14:00 on a Tuesday, so it wasn’t too busy, and we were sat immediately. We had the daily thanksgiving dinner special and two Mediterranean Plates, and the three we were shared bread pudding for dessert. It was all good, and Patrick did a great job, professional and good attention to details.

Located inside Letchworth State Park… this beautiful inn serves delicious food inside and outside on the porch. We went with our dog. We sat outside on the porch. As the food warmed our bellies, we heard the sound of the Middle Falls and birds. Could anything be more perfect??P.S. The staff was warm and welcoming… 💕

We did not stay at the Glen Iris, however we did eat breakfast there and explored throughout the house while there. Breakfast: Waitress was kind and courteous. She was very attentive to our needs. Food was prompt and delicious. The dining room was aesthetically pleasing. The Inn: This is a beautiful bed and breakfast. The staff that we dealt with was pleasant and professional. The grounds outside was also beautiful and well kept. Just below the inn is one of the most spectacular waterfalls I have ever seen.

We had a lovely time here. It is an amazing location right by an incredible waterfall. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The front desk had a young lady named Kelly that was very nice. Showed us our options for rooms and made sure everything was perfect. We highly recommend this inn.Nearby activities: Hiking is amazing.Walkability: Lots of hills but wonderful views.

Garden restaurant is amazing! It is priceless to have your meal outside, surrounded by the flowers, in the shade of the trees, listening to the music of the fallen waters! There aren’t many options on the lunch menu but everything we ordered we liked. Especially, the cocktails and the dessert. The prices were quite reasonable and the service was good. Recommend!

Love the park. Great place and beautiful scenery. However, the Inn is tired. We’ve stayed in 2 separate rooms within 6 months of each other. The beds need new mattresses. Lumpy, uncomfortable mattresses made for terrible night sleep. Towels are old. Rooms need updated. The food in the dining room is expensive and just not that great. The special of scallops has been the same for ever. It’s not a special anymore if it’s offered every night. The Inn could use a facelift and some TLC.

I had my wedding here last month and it was absolutely perfect. Molly was a joy yo work with and made sure everything went smoothly. The food was all delicious and service was great. Multiple people commented on how beautiful everything was. Thank you to everyone at the Glen Iris who had a role in making our day memorable. We also ate at the restaurant on site several times during the weekend of the wedding and the food was great!

We dined for lunch at the new Caroline's courtyard which open in May 2023. It is a beautiful outdoor dining garden area which is a part of the Glen Iris Inn and sits in front of the Upper falls at Letchworth State Park. I highly reccomend making a reservation ahead. Service is always excellent as well as the food. I'd reccommend the salmon salad which was scrumptious and had enough left over for dinner. Warm rolls were included with the entree. I had the candy apple margarita which tasted like a candy apple! Ice cold and was served in a large goblet. Carolina's courtyard is open through the end of October. An amazing place to dine for any special occasion

My wife and went here for dinner on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, the service was good, but the food was terrible. I got a prime rib that was fatty and cold, and my wife got the filet that looked more like a sirloin and tasted like nothing because it was so dry. She had to dip it in the au jus just make edible.I grew up less than a mile from the park, and I had only been there once before, and that was over 20 years ago, and I do not recall it being this bad.Food & drinks: Save your money. We like to come once a year or so. Strange in a way to find fine dining in the midst of picnics and barbecues, but the experience is well worth the cost. They will rebate your park entry fee, so bring in your ticket to save $10. In winter the outdoor fountain will often form a very tall ice cone. In one cold year it was over 30 feet high.Nearby activities: Right beside middle falls which has a height of 100 feet and a 50 foot plunge pool beneath. Lots of very scenic trails and the William Pryor Letchworth museum.

The natural setting is stunning but that’s unfortunately the only real asset here.We visited for dinner with friends we’d invited and looked forward to something special. The whole meal was disappointing- no refinement in service or presentation. These were some of our comments: The server brought frozen rolls, the cook was heavy handed with sauce on our main courses, the boiled veggies thrown on our plates were flavourless. The dining room is very drab and lacks any semblance of warmth or charm. The ladies room had holes in the wall where the tissue roll holder presumably had been attached previously. A roll of tissue was precariously propped on the side for all visitors to handle. We expected a lovely evening in an elegant setting and we left feeling cheated and robbed.Such a wasted opportunity for excellence in this lovely setting.Noteworthy details: Setting is lovely and we wish we enjoyed a drink outside instead of dining in the dining room.

Gluten and soy-free diner here. This past Saturday, I traveled to Letchworth for lunch with my family at the Glen Iris Inn, and we had an enjoyable visit! My wife informed our server Lydia of my dietary limitations when I ordered their gluten-free pasta dish, and to her credit, Lydia checked and their gluten-free pasta contained soy. Thus, I was able to change my order to the Glen Iris burger, sans mayo, and our entire meal went off without a hitch! Thank you once again Lydia and we look forward to visiting again come Fall.

After a long day of hiking, my boyfriend and I decided to dine at the Glen Iris Inn. Upon entering, we were greeted by dim lighting and some confusion regarding the dining area due to the presence of a gift shop and clutter. Thankfully, we eventually found the hostess who seated us by a lovely set of bay windows, offering a view of the inn's beautiful flowers and its front facade. For our meals, my boyfriend ordered a Beyond Burger, and I opted for the Angel Hair Pasta without Prosciutto. Unfortunately, when my pasta arrived, it still contained Prosciutto. However, the waitress promptly rectified the mistake by bringing out a new dish. The service was efficient and friendly, but overall, this is not a restaurant I would choose to revisit. It gave me the impression of a place you might see on a show like "Restaurant Impossible." Furthermore, the restroom experience left much to be desired, as they were dimly lit and had a persistent odor of urine.

I wasn't overall impressed with the Glen Iris Inn but it has decent food and is one of only 2 options in the park. First of all, the scenery is impeccable and is worth the trip by itself. Service was ok, everyone was very friendly, we sat outside which was lovely, it was just slow to get our order taken but food came out quickly. The cream of asparagus soup was the best thing we had for lunch. Super delicious and fresh. We got the danish bre but I was disappointed as the bre was slightly rubbery and room temperature. We got the turkey BLT and the spicy chicken sandwich. Both were underwhelming and lacked flavor. The fries were nice and crispy but for an $18 turkey BLT I was expecting more.

Very beautiful restaurant! BUT the food wasn't what we expected. They need to kick up the menu several notches for what you pay! The waitress was very good, friendly and funny .I had the pork chop. It was flavorless with a bitter balsamic sauce on it. A little scoop of garlic mashed potatoes and about 10 green beans. My wife had the chicken Marsala. It was better than my meal but not by much. The dessert was the best part of our meal . My wife and I go to a restaurant in Lackawanna NY . The average is 1.5 sometimes 2 week wait to get a reservation and the food is fantastic for about the same price level we paid at GII. To the general manager of the "Glen Iris Inn restaurant " PLEASE revamp you food. Your restaurant should be a destination same as the park.

After a long hike, my family (4 of us) and I were looking forward to sitting down for lunch. We waited 20 minutes before someone asked if we had been served. Another 15 minutes, and we got our drinks and they took our order. 15 more minutes, we got our drinks refilled and was told our food should be out shortly. Finally, after another 20 minutes had passed, I put a $20 down on the table for the sodas and left. During that time, several tables around us, who came in after us, had ordered and served their food. It was a disappointing end to a fun day at the park.

Glen Iris Inn and Letchworth State Park are absolutely beautiful. We had our wedding photos done here 29 years ago and it still is just as beautiful. We are now visiting the area from Florida and wanted to ride through the park and see the sights as well as dine at the Glen Iris Inn. It was great that someone was holding a wedding there today as that really brought back memories. We took a photo by the sign to commemorate this trip and were instructed we had to walk around the other side as the wedding was about to start. No worries at all! We go inside and see the hostess, as for a table for two for lunch. She says ok, turns around to grab menus then suddenly turns and says, “Oh I’m sorry I can’t seat you, your too late. Lunch stops serving at 4:00 and it is now 4:04.”. What the…..!!! I tried telling her were are up here from Florida, and we had wedding photos here 29 years ago blah blah blah and all she could say is we could get a cocktail drink. Great, get a drink on an empty stomach. After a bit of back and forth we left highly disappointed. Four friggin’ minutes. Guess we shouldn’t have stoped to talk to the nice staff outside protecting the wedding area and getting a commemorative photo and we could have spent way more money at the Glen Iris than we did at Letchworth Pines, which I might say had great service and the prices were tremendously cheaper,, which is to be expected from a roadside bar. Maybe at the front gate to enter the park when they told us to show the receipt that we paid $10.00 to get in to the park that was refundable if we eat at the Glen Iris, it was then it would have been nice to know they shut down lunch at 4:00. We would have made sure we were there on time instead of enjoying the beauty of the park. So, we didn’t get to use the $10.00 towards our meal but that’s ok, the park was stunning and well worth the $10.00 entry fee. The hostess did put a damper on our experience.

Service was slow. 15 minutes seated in dining room before a server spoke to us. Ordered a strip steak with fries and it was served with mashed;advised server and after 2 requests, fries arrived COLD. Steak was fatty and also served cold. Server was polite and friendly. Won't be returning to Glen Iris which "was once" a beautiful dining experience

Great location. Very nice wine & cocktail selection. The food menu has many choices & the special of the day scallop dish was good. Generous portions. Prices are a bit on the high side for an overall 4 star review, but to be expected given the location. There is room for improvement for the food. Mainly that the taste of the main ingredient gets overpowered by the other ingredients. Examples are the ahi tuna vs honey and the scallops vs melted parmesan cheese. Why the water crackers for the ahi tuna appetizer were set in the Wasabi sauce is curious. Every cracker had sauce on it, so one had no option other than to eat the crackers or not.Nearby activities: Great hiking & scenic viewsWalkability: Great hiking & scenic viewsFood & drinks: See above

Worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Went with my family of four for lunch after hiking the Letchworth park area. Hostess was very rude and upset that we asked for an outside table in the garden, because she had to go clean off a table for us. Then after being seated and waiting more than 20 minutes with no service, seeing two other tables that were seated after us get service, we returned the menus and left. Hostess meagerly said sorry but made no attempt to help correct the issue. We were polite and tried to be patient the whole time, but we were hungry, and I guess we weren't good enough for them.Food & drinks: Would loved to have tried their food but they refused to serve us.Noteworthy details: Service is horrible

The Glen Iris is stately and elegant. It transports you back to a different and more relaxed time period. The landscaping is impeccable, yet you can walk in from a hike dressed in shorts and sneakers and still feel comfortable eating lunch or dinner here. I love being seated outside near the fountain in the summer. Of course the food and wine are amazing! And the gift shop will really get you excited about spending money on beautiful jewelry and interesting and unusual items!

3 Stars because it’s a beautiful building and the view is fantastic. The food though, the worst meal I’ve had in my entire life. I ordered the Rosemary Cavatappi with Italian Sausage. The pasta was overcooked and mushy, the rosemary cream sauce looked and tasted like garbage, the mushrooms, red onion, and snow peas were slimy, and it seems like they tried to cover their sins with the cheeses. Do not waste your time and especially your money on this horrendous food.
