We called to make an appointment for our cat who is experiencing some urinary issues. We were told they only take healthy cats, not any with a pre-existing condition! I can't imagine calling up a doctor and having them refuse me if I was sick, same principle. I just read the veterinarian's oath, as far as I can see they have violated the entire oath! They did tell me if my cat got better they would accept her as a new patient. I don't think so!

We have been associated with Clarkson Vet.Clinic since 1986 when Dr. Buttery took on our horses…and dogs…and cats.The tradition of caring and professionalism continues into the current practice, and we travel from Irondequoit now to stay with Clarkson. They are easy to deal with, with reminders and convenient scheduling. The staff is great to work with, and they are warm and caring with the “patient”.Dr. Markel took a lot of time with me, helping with an end of life decision regarding a beloved dog, and her counsel was invaluable. I highly recommend them!

Worst experience with this place for the first time. A vettech named Heather who works here threatened to get police involved if we didn’t bring a cat that we found to its previous owners and we were doing the right thing and brought him in for its previous owners they with held the cat for 24hrs and tried getting in contact with the previous owners and they contacted humaine society since they couldn’t get ahold of the owners and humaine society said we can have the cat after 30 days so Heather said we could have the cat and gave us his microchip number to put our names in the cat since they said he was ours. I got a call next day saying they need us to answer or they will get police involved… but from what we were told by clarkson vet that it was okay… I am never ever coming here again. I am so glad I reached out to the previous owners myself and got the cat back to his home. I am glad I am getting my refund back for the cat since I had to pay for his shots even though I am not his original owner! Again the other vet techs were super helpful besides Heather!!! Heather was the only one who threatened us and made us look like we were stealing the cat to the previous owners and I just think it’s not okay how they handled this situation for the first time since clarkson vet told us they never dealt with this before… no way you should threatened a customer who was trying to help the cat get back to its previous owners.

This vet Dr. Miller is the best vet I have ever experienced. She obviously loves her job. I am so impressed with the way she treats my dog. He loves to go there everyone loves their job in that office. We are greeted as we come in; which is the first in my experience. Dr. Miller not only loves, but she listens and always wants to know how my dog is doing and makes suggestions to help me. The Drs. Helpers are also great to talk to and they love our pets. Caring & professional team, including a great vet who sees exotics (which small animal owners will know can be kind of a challenge to find & book a prompt appointment with, especially in a small town). We've taken our rabbits here, as well as a surprise foster guinea pig, & were encouraged by the knowledgeable care our animals received every time. Dr. Miller is great but everyone we spoke to was super nice and really went above & beyond to get all our questions answered.

Great place to bring your pet! Recently my dog has been sick with a stomach issue and we have had great experiences here. She also recently has a surgery, nothing major but removing a thing in her foot and eye and I felt they treated her as one of their own. They did all this work for a great price while making sure my dog was healthy. My family has been bring their animals here for years and never a bad experience! Highly recommend Them!

I have never had such a great experience with any other vets office than here. Molly had been taken care of here by both Dr's in the practice for many years. Both are incredibly kind, compassionate and patient. I recently had the tough decision to send my baby (16 years young!) to cross the rainbow bridge and everyone was so accommodating and wonderful through the ENTIRE process. I felt that they cared and they explained all options to me. She wasn't just a cat to me, not a pet - she was my baby... and I never felt misunderstood or like they were annoyed in any way. I have since referred all of my friends and family. And some have already gone and loved Clarkson! My mom will be moving home from Buffalo soon, and she saw how awesome Clarkson was and will be taking her two cats there as well. I can't explain my gratitude to this office and the doctors. I even got a sympathy card in the mail with the cutest cat on it a few days after Molly passed (made me cry my eyes out, but great to know those little gestures are there). Thank you, thank you, thank you... for being there in my best of times with Molly, to the end. I'm sure, absolutely positive, that she is grateful as well, for your care and compassion. Please do not hesitate to take your pets (family ❤) here.

Clarkson Veterinary are good people. The vets and their veterinary assistants took great care of our little guy (kitty) both in health and through his long, slow decline. No matter how busy they were, they always made time for him when needed and several times brought him back from the precipice for additional months of quality life before we finally had to say goodbye. The staff is incredibly kind and compassionate. Through the lives of our last 4 dogs, they have given our family amazing care. They always send my pups a birthday card, and we have always received a sympathy card for each dog that has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They are also Pitty friendly, a huge plus for me. The prices are very reasonable.

I was very impressed with Dr. Jennifer. My kitty was having a terrible time with scabs on her wee body. I looked it up online and it said fleas. My cat is an indoor cat and I looked her over many times and couldn't find anything. Dr. Jennifer combed her over and over to find something because without fleas there was blood work and a potential biopsy ahead. After a couple of minutes she found one and from there we made a plan. Antibiotics, steroids, a flea pill for instant flea death and a liquid for her neck region for 3 month coverage. My kitty was an unhappy Happy kitty! She had a mild reaction to the medicine on her neck but the relief found within 24 hours was night and day. Still a little bit of fur needs to grow back, around her neck and shoulders was raw with all her licking, and a follow up with the doctor in two weeks. VERY confident in the service and grateful for this place long term for my travel happy kitty! Thanks for your diligence, Dr. Jennifer!

I cannot say enough good things about Clarkson Veterinary Hospital. I travel an hour to get there to take my dog when there is an animal hospital less then 5 minutes from my house. Dr. Miller and all the staff are amazing. Always explain everything clearly and directly. Highly recommend!
