My husband and I are so happy we found Rescue Right. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by extremely friendly staff. They truly care about their dogs and cats and want them all to find great homes and do a great job pairing you with the animal who best fits your lifestyle so they can set you up for success! We found our sweet Nash and love him to pieces. They made sure to provide his current vaccinations and history sheet. They made sure that he was thoroughly dewormed and ready to go home. They are very supportive and we know that if we ever need their help they are just a phone call away! We love our little guy and we can’t thank Penny and her staff enough for this little nugget!

Rescue Right boarded my cats, it was great experience working with them. The owner is amazing woman and her staff were extremely helpful, especially James. I will continue working with them as well as referring them to other people I know with pets.

We can’t say enough good things about adopting our 1 year old puppy Sansa from Rescue Right. The owner, Penny, is a gem of a person who truly cares about all animals. She personally helped to pair us with our dream dog, the most amazingly sweet beagle mix. Sansa had contracted heartworm before arriving at Rescue Right, and as veteran owners of special needs dogs, we opted to take her home and get her through the treatment. Penny was so supportive of us, giving us information, resources and the meds we needed. Sansa is now heartworm free and thriving. We believe that getting our pup at Rescue Right was a serendipitous event and we do plan on staying in touch with the shelter :)

I had a wonderful experience with Rescue Right. I found Penny to be kind, thoughtful , and caring. She took the time to match us to a dog perfect for us. Our dog ended up testing postive for heartworm shortly after adoption. I called Penny to inform her. Her response was “we will take care of her”. Not only did they pay for her treatment, they also assisted with transport to and from the vet. They are fantastic, compassionate, and caring people and a wonderful organization.

Rescue Right is such an amazing organization! We recently adopted our puppy through them and we cant say enough good things. Penny and her staff take incredibly good care of their rescues and make sure they all go to good homes. They make sure you have all the information and materials needed to take care of your dog. Rescue Right’s adoption fees are also an incredible bargain. The $625 adoption fee covered not only all of our dog’s past shots, but also her upcoming ones for when our puppy is old enough. The fee also covers the microchipping as well as her spaying when she turns 6 months old. If you are looking to adopt from a reputable caring organization, Rescue Right is the one for you.

I recently started volunteering at Rescue Right and Penny and her wonderful staff couldn’t have been more welcoming.The rescue is on a very large property, offering plenty of room for both dogs and cats to thrive while waiting for loving families to adopt them.The animals are very well taken care of! I’m thankful to take part in maintaining their standard of excellence, when it comes to providing a clean, safe haven for the animals in their care. Penny is diligent, aware and involved in all the needs for every animal under her care. Donations of, litter, food, blankets, pet beds, and household items (paper towels, garbage bags, sponges, cleaning supplies etc..) are always appreciated and will be put to good use! It all helps to keep this rescue a special place that goes above and beyond to provide the best care to many loving animals waiting for their furrever homes!

Rescue Right has been well known in the rescue world for 15+ years. Those that work in rescue know the people that are doing it right and can easily spot those that have no idea what rescue really is. There are a number of fake reviews on here that a local resident has paid people to write. It's very sad that's how people are spending their time and honestly it's not worth it because the truth always prevails. The truth is Rescue Right is an amazing rescue. Even more sad though is that these people really don't understand anything about animal rescue and how incredibly difficult it is. It is heartbreak on a daily basis and enough to deal with without having the ignorant people of the world criticize them. The majority of the community really has no clue what happens in the background of rescue...and quite frankly if they did, they would turn their heads from it because it is piercingly difficult to deal with. It is literally painful to experience at times. Penny is a hero in the rescue world. Not only has she rescued thousands of animals but she's always willing to help other local rescues. It takes a village. Rescue is hard. Rescue is dirty. Rescue is sad. Rescue is not just adopting dogs out to families. It's a million times more than you'll ever know. Penny has conquered and overcome many issues in the past and she'll overcome this difficult time when people are attempting to belittle her. The good always win. Penny is the definition of good. She goes above and beyond for animals and always will. Karma will handle the rest.

Rescue Right obviously cares a great deal for their pets' well being. It's a great place from which to adopt/ rescue an animal. There are always multiple helping hands around to help care for and socialize the dogs and the dogs and puppies show it. We just adopted an adorable mixed breed puppy and Penny and co were so thoughtful and helpful throughout the process and afterwards!

I love this place! I fell in love with my current cat that I adopted from here, Galaxy. It has been almost 2 months that I've had her and she is the best pet ever. Courtney, Robert, and Penny were very helpful in the adoption process especially Courtney. She was very knowledgable and you can tell just how great she is at her job. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to adopt a cat or a dog.

Do your research before you put your trust into this"organization." For decades Rescue Right has been a health hazard and an animal warehouse with animals suffering lack of food, socialization, comfortable temperatures and safe surroundings - all documented. There are dogs that have been left there to languish for years, never being promoted and when people come in for a certain dog Penny allegedly redirects them to a different dog which can end up being returned, because it’s not really the dog they wanted. Then she has said at time, their original choice had been adopted already! And people naively believe her.Penny's operation should be called out for what it is - a hazard to the livelihoods of animals. She is unequipped to handle this level of responsibility and should step down before more animals suffer. It is a shame that such a “rescue” can continue to operate like and the town of Bedford hasn’t done anything to shutter it given the repeated complaints over the years. Sadly, much of the public is unaware of the reality of the situation. People want to believe the best but this is far from that. This is a place where animals go to die from what I’ve seen and heard. She constantly berates patrons who are unhappy with her services and instead of trying to remedy them, she just yells at them, blocks them, and says they are "fake." Don't be fooled by these tactics. She is being investigated and eventually she will be removed due to her mismanagement of Rescue Right. Penny - do the right thing - give these innocent animals the heat they need in this cold, safety, enough food, vaccinations and proper documentation of vaccinations, or close. What is the gain for you? Sounds like animal abuse. Do you like harming animals? You're causing harm. How many dogs have been at Rescue Right for over a year I wonder?

I was looking for a companion for my 5 year old son, came to Rescue-Right and fell inlove with this little boy!! Penny rescued him from Egypt along with some other furry friends! It is amazing what they do for these animals! Penny and her staff are angels and deeply care about the animals! Amazing!! This is Zaar!! We love him

Just got my baby pup from Rescue Right and I couldn’t be happier! Penny takes such good care of all the animals and made sure Tootsie (my pup) got everything she needed for her new home! I just began volunteering here and watching everyone take care of the pets is truly amazing! They put so much effort and love into each and every animal! Best rescue shelter ever! Couldn’t be happier to be a part of the rescue right family!

As a first time owner the staff at Rescue Right were incredibly passionate and knowledgeable in helping me find the right match. Penny and Sophia were amazing. They listened to what I was looking for in a dog and they brought out a couple of choices until the perfect connection was made! I was able to adopt a dog in great health, completely up to date on vaccinations, and neutered which takes a lot of hassle off of me as a new owner. I look forward to boarding with them in the future. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Rescue Right!!

Courtney and her staff are just amazing. I adopted my little Calico kitten from Rescue Rights and the amount of love they have for every animal is truly heartfelt. Their help did not stop at the point of adoption. They were there to help with vaccinations and neutering my girl. Courtney even gave me her person number to keep in contact if I ever had any questions.A couple of months after my adoption I found a stray feral cat in my yard. I was concerned and called Rescue Rights and without hesitation they examined the cat and scanned for a chip. They were able to find this fur baby a loving home. Amazing people doing the most amazing and loving things for these animals. Would highly recommend adopting from them or even donating to their cause.

Rescue Right is the best place to board and adopt in NY. Not only are there kennels and litter clean for both the dogs and cats, but their staff is absolutely wonderful. Penny connects with the animals like no other and has such great professionalism with her customers. Her selflessness and care is the core of Rescue Right. Sophia is a treasure as well. Her kind heart, charming smile, and love for animals isn’t like any other. Whether you want to adopt or board, Rescue Right is the way to go.

I can’t imagine anyone writing a bad review of this place or any rescue shelter. THEY ARE ALL UNDER STAFFED and UNDER FUNDED!! They survive just day to day helping unwanted animals as best they can!!! So if they get a little irritable at times I can’t blame them!!I have volunteered here and I can tell you the strain on Penny is enormous!! SHE WILL NOT TURN AWAY 1 dog!!! Where other shelters are taking in puppies for $$$$$ she takes the unwanted!!Please think twice before writing a bad review and PLEASE DONATE!!

Rob and Courtney (along with other staff members involved in kitten adoption) are amazing! After approving my application, they contacted me with updates as to which kittens were available and appointment times to meet them. Upon entering the cat room, it was immediately clear how much everyone truly cares about each animal. Rob and Courtney answered my questions about the kitten I was interested in and left me feeling confident in the adoption. They gave me their personal phone number and have been very responsive to my questions over the last few weeks. After my positive experience, a friend completed an application and adopted a sweet kitten from Rescue Right, as well. I will continue to recommend them to others looking to add a furry friend to their household!

I had such a pleasant experience adopting my kitties from this organization. The process was quick and efficient in making sure the kittens would be going to a good home. I also appreciate how throughly they answered all of my questions and concerns prior to finalizing the adoption. They were welcoming & friendly, responsive throughout the application process, thorough in making sure my dog was an appropriate match for me, and they set me up with so many supplies when I came to pick up my pup! I was looking for a companion for Manny my rescue who is a Shitzu-poodle mix. I saw an adorable mini poodle Bernese Mountain dog mix named Poppy who needed rescue. So i filled out an application. When i called Rescue Right i was told to come ahead and i was welcome to bring Manny. I was warned by Matt that over 100 applications had already been submitted online for her but we came anyway. The two dogs sniffed each other and then walked away which is a good indication that neither was threatened. Penny the owner suggested we foster first to make sure the fit was right and we agreed. That was when we were told no other applicant had come by to meet her! We could not believe our good fortune! We came back in 3 weeks to have her neutered and to complete the adoption paperwork. In the past 25 years I have adopted and raised 5 Siberian Huskies rescues before Manny. Penny’s adoption process was the most organized and professional i had ever seen. She personally filled out the needed paperwork, explained about the chip and the aftercare for the spaying. We are still overwhelmed with the joy that this wonderful 4 year old dog we named Maisie, has brought to Manny’s life and our lives! This rescue organization rescues over 600 pets a year. Our Maisie came from a puppy farm and got the name Poppy when she arrived with the other rescued dogs. God bless Penny and her team!

We filled out our application and were approved very fast. You will not find a shelter that puts more love and care into their animals - they take on some very challenging cases, but hold out for the right new pet parents. Penny (the owner) has a tremendous instinct for pairing people and animals appropriately, and treats all of her many charges with love and respect. Though they provide regular boarding as a parallel business, the real labor of love is in taking in, rehabilitating and finding forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats every year from all over the country. As a no kill shelter, these animals are truly saved when they make it to Rescue Right...

Not a well run place. I paid to board my dog for 3 days and found out that my dog was placed in a crate for half that time. I did not pay to have my dog put in a little crate for 2 days! Found out from the young volunteer that they do this often because they are overbooked often. She apparently got in trouble for telling me the truth about that as they expected her to lie and tell him my dog was placed in a run when she wasn't. Unethical. Will never come here again.

Amazing place to find a “fur”ever friend 💙 all the staff here are so patient and wonderful. They gave us a whole care package, treats, toys and even an airtag!! Such a great experience. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking to adopt, and will be going here for any future adoptions!!!
