1/14/24I stopped in after many months of not going in just to be disappointed again. I thought well let me try maybe something changed… lol as I was looking around and had a couple of things in my hand I overheard the employees in the back gossiping about someone that had taken something. The guy says ya I saw the fat lady’s van and I got the plate info, I instantly saw red and just turned around dropped my items and left. Besides pricing items way above value or pricing and letting friends buy the item’s or employees getting mad at other employees for letting something get out into the floor before he could say he wanted it , because yes I’ve witnessed this also, they also have to talk loud enough for customers to hear them. I just felt this was so rude. This place is priced like it’s an upscale resell store I’m surprised it makes any profit for the program they supposedly support. We live in the east mountain area and love to support local shops but this one is definitely off the list. I’m supposing it caters to friends and employees at this point.

Great little thrift shop. I always find fun unique and valuable things at reasonable prices and people are friendly.Highly recommend to those who love thrifting/antiquing

Prices make ya feel like it's a gouging reseller. They get all this free just to literally mistreat my humble wallet. Obviously I had to reprimand myself ...started to feel like someone's fool.Good stuff I'd like to go... The salesman says your the VIP of the day. I spend so much there $100-$300 a visit.I'm not well off; to say the least, but I figured I'd purchase here before elsewhere to help a cause but I simply stopped going.Very disappointed.Seemed prices went up the more I went & spent. Also felt targeted on what I was buying because my family has specific needs.Well a good thing gone bad..📍However, there is a very courteous, kind and considerate elder lady there who does not reflect such approaches. imo.

Prices way too high for junky stuff that is literally given to them. Also the old lady at the register is extremely rude.

I don’t know what people are talking about but a lot of their stuff is in great shape. They’re worth the low prices. I don’t think five dollars for a really nice shirt is not expensive!!

Why so expensive? 98 dollars for a set of Pyrex bowl? Yikes!Edit: CAUTION had my credit card compromised after shopping here. Will not be doing business here again!

There’s always interesting stuff, but the prices are high for a thrift store. I actually don’t mind paying more for unique items, but the main pricing employee (the short, skinny, cranky one) is horrible to customers. Many of the employees are very kind, but this one always makes me uncomfortable. She yelled at me for looking at a shelf of items that had not been priced (even though they’re clearly visible on the sales floor). I asked when they might be available. She responded with “oh, you want to buy something?” I told her I wanted to buy any/all of what was on the shelf. Her response was “you can have two, and *I* will pick which ones .” Is this place trying to make money?

This is the one and only place to visit in Cedar Crest. I go often. The deals, bargains, and sales they have beat anyone anywhere in the State. This is a little gold mind. A gem, right on Hwy 14. It is truly a one-of-a kind Treasure Chest. You never know what you will find. Paula, has managed the store over 10 years and really knows her stuff, how to price, organize and display. The money goes to a good cause, helping Youth Leadership. I love this place!

This is one of the best thrift stores we ever go too.Very high quality items❗️Their mission is a huge blessing to our community. They higher young people as part of their mission, who sometimes need an attitude adjustment❗️Ha ha LOLTHATS PART OF THEIR TRAINING PERHAPS!So be a good example‼️

I don't want to tell anyone how much I like this place, because I want it all to myself. ;) But it's just a great little thrift store with a well curated selection. If you're hunting for vintage clothes, in particular, I'd make this one of your first stops. Their prices on good quality vintage are a little bit higher than what you might expect from a thrift shop, but it's because they've got good stuff and they know it.

I normally enjoy stopping by Talking Talons on my way through Cedar Crest, but all of that came to a screeching halt the last time I was in this store.First off, I understand how frustrating it can be when people come in prior to closing. I have worked in retail before, I get it. What I don’t understand is how this quaint shop can still remain in business after treating their customers so poorly.Yes, I did show up, unknowingly right before closing. Yet there were other customers still inside. I had a few minutes to look around the store, but got greeted with a huge sigh and a reminder that the store would be closing. Seeing as I had a few minutes, I thanked the employee for the information and continued my way inside for a quick peak. You know, it’s really hard to look around and enjoy anything while being reminded every minute for the remaining time I had by one of the “sales associates“. If I could, I would have bought your silence. This “sales associate” also took it upon herself to tell me, and my daughter- “We are closed. You need to get your stuff, pay for it, and leave.” Suddenly I lost all interest in purchasing anything from this establishment. Please note- there is a kind way to speak to people, who happen to be willing to purchase your overpriced, donated goods. Sighing heavely, rolling your eyes and being coarse and impolite is definitely not the way.

Love this place, too bad they do not enforce mask wearing at all. This shop is super small and has very close quarters. Omicron virus is raging and the East Mountain types are just going to do their own thing and thus put others heath at risk.I won't be back for a very long time, if ever.

I used to really like going here, but they have started sharing their security camera footage to publicly shame people for donating things they don't want or taking things left there after hours. I understand why they would do this but I don't think they should shame the community they rely on for their inventory. I think I would rather donate and shop elsewhere.

thrift storeA place that sells used clothing (and other items) for cheap. This is not a thrift store more a consignment shop. I had come across items here that are priced higher than brand new. I understand the area it is in is a bit upper class and priced accordingly, but seriously. You are selling items given to you free of charge. You are using the non profit organization title to turn a profit and not pay taxes.

We love each time we go, finding anew treasure. From the helpful to the oh I really want this, there is a good selection of quality items. Plus, the people are always great. TalkingTalons does not disappoint.

Their prices are way too high for a thrift store. Serveral times I have seen something priced the same as they are charged in retail stores. Their iron pan's are priced more than a new one. That's messed up. Jewelry very high priced. I was told by one of the workers that work at Talking Talons that they are selling the finer jewelry for the manager's good friend. That doesn't seem right. Is that even allowed? I give this a low score for those reasons and management should be looked into.

I take my grandkids there for baseballs, or gloves and bats. Its the only thrift store in the east mtns.with a variety of stuff, but c'mon $40 for a catchers mitt? $16 for a bat.. But I spend it for the kids.. I want to talk to the owner and say wt_ are you thinking!! But, all I need is to have to tell my grandkids that grandma got booted from a second hand store!!... My 9 yr old is so into baseball, and asked if we could look for a jersey.. They had 2.. 1 for $40. The other for $20.. If the price tape says 40, by heck its a firm 40..!!!

This place is SO EXPENSIVE! It isn’t a boutique because the quality of the items is on par with free items left in free boxes on the side of the road. For example, in the shoe section I saw a number of boots (cowboy, combat, hiking, etc) that were priced between $40 and $75!!!! And they were not in good condition, not even in decent condition. Some t-shirts were $8 and I even saw a t-shirt in the kid’s section for $20!!!! So insane. Here’s the worst part though, when you take your stuff to the register they will change the price on you if whoever is working (manager?) thinks it’s too low. It used to be a wonderful and inexpensive actual thrift store but but they look up EVERYTHING on eBay or Etsy and price from there. Higher than boutique prices. Omg, I saw a men’s shirt from H & M (showed wear: pilling, pit stains) for $30. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

I happened to go on a sale day. Otherwise, the prices were a little steep for my thrift store tastes. It does indeed benefit a great cause so really it's a win win. They have great stuff and you should check it out if you're in the area!

The most wack prices I've ever seen in a 'thrift' store. Whoever prices things here needs to put down the pipe.
