You get what you pay for here. The location is convenient, safe, and relatively quiet. Service is great. Our biggest issue was that the rooms were dirty. Debris on the floors, hairs in the bed and on the pillows, and hair in the shower. Dingy towels and grimy shower curtain. As soon as I saw the hairs in the bed I wanted to leave but it was late and there are no refunds. Overall it was somewhere safe to sleep but it was not clean.

We traveled from Charleston, SC to New Mexico for the Ring of Fire Eclipse. We had previously planned on camping but the locations we chose were closed for the observance of the celestial phenomena. We bumped our noses on every motel we tried and were beginning to lose hope when I finally found Four Winds. The rooms were nice and exactly as expected. We didn't need or want anything more.The desk staff were so nice and you could tell they cared about the property a lot. In fact, I thought they were the owners because of how "at home" they were and how much attention to detail they both had. My only regret was not getting to go see the local peacocks that we chatted about.The other guests were also all so nice. It's nice to feel a home away from home feeling while traveling. We were Blessed to be able to share Time and Space with all of the amazing hoomans at Four Winds. xxRooms: I gave 4 stars for the room just because of the shower/tub situation. When traveling with kids, it's nice if they can grab some tub time so the owners should maybe invest in some new shower curtains. xx

I believe it is imperative to bring to your attention the alarming circumstances I encountered during my stay.Upon my arrival, I was immediately pressured by the owner to compose a positive review, a demand that seemed innocuous at first but swiftly escalated into a distressing ordeal. After spending just one day at the establishment, it became evident that the owner's demeanor shifted dramatically, revealing a deeply unsettling and potentially dangerous individual.While his wife, who was notably absent during my encounter, exhibited kindness, it was overshadowed by the troubling atmosphere permeating the premises. The pervasive odor of mold, coupled with the scent of Indian cuisine, only added to the discomfort of the situation.Furthermore, my observations lead me to suspect that the establishment may be involved in illicit activities related to immigration. This suspicion, combined with the coercive tactics employed by the owner, paints a disturbing picture of the operation.It has come to my attention that the owner may be leveraging his position for personal gain, potentially even in pursuit of a political office. The pressure exerted on customers to leave positive reviews appears to be a calculated attempt to maintain a façade of respectability.In all my years of travel, I have never encountered a more harrowing and perilous situation. It is with a heavy heart that I strongly advise against patronizing Four winds Motel as long as it remains under its current management. We were impressed during our stay. The room was clean, and all the staff we spoke with were friendly and helpful. I felt safe and didn’t worry about my vehicle. I would suggest making reservations well ahead of time. The motel is nice and can be busy. The Valley of Fires is just west of the motel and is worth a day or two to check out.Safety: The parking lot was quiet at night. I never worried about my vehicle or its contents.

I stayed here overnight during this past Memorial Day weekend. The choice of this motel was a good one. The check-in clerk was helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable, with updated furnishings. Many motel rooms don't have spare electrical outlets available but this place did.The price for an overnight stay was very reasonable compared to other places.If passing this way again, I will choose to stay here.

If you need somewhere to stay in Carrizozo, this is the place! Staff is so friendly and accommodating. From the time I arrived, the front desk clerk made me feel like family. This is the second time I have stayed here and will never go anywhere else while in Carrizozo. It was even better this time around due to remodeled rooms and updated furnishings. Also, had the privilege of meeting the owner and he was great. He allowed me to plug my Tesla into one of the RV receptacles on site. It was super convenient and I didn't have to worry about a thing.

My self and a group of co workers were in Carizozo for the weekend. We stayed at the 4 wind’s hotel. The owner personally greeted us upon our arrival. Mital was super courteous ,informative and friendly. His rooms were very clean and comfortable. Fast Wi-Fi and a huge smart tv in every room. There’s a grill available for his guests to use. Filtered ice and laundry machines. We all were very satisfied with Mital and his rooms. I’m excited to return to his location and experience the new amenities he is planning to add to his rooms and location in general. Highly recommend. Thanks again Mital for the great experience. Modernized rooms with large flat screen TV, fridge, microwave and ample outlets for technology. Our room had an approximately 3' square table with 2 chairs as well as bedside tables and a large dresser. Ac & heat was new and very ample for, I would think, any conditions likely to be present. Bath had a large shower and it & toilet were separate from sink counter. We were pleased with our stay as well as the cost.

Incredibly clean rooms and super nice owner! I was traveling from the Arizona Grand Resort and Spa and the rooms at the Four Winds Motel were cleaner and newer, it was so refreshing. Cannot say enough good things about this place♥️Great room, new air conditioner unit, and an insanely cool bathroom mirror. Also the TV was great!

This is a delightful roadside motel, with exceptionally updated rooms and a friendly and accommodating staff. The charming white and blue exterior is complimented by new TV's, flooring, and beds. The remodel was well done, and the U shaped layout offers a sense of security despite being at a major crossroads.I called to make reservations, and the manager was incredibly friendly and helpful both on the phone and at check in. It is super easy to get to, easy to find as the sign is well lit. We will be happy to stay here again if our travels allow.

-Ended up doing a failed all nighter and stopped by at 2am to see if they had a room. The person that came to the door after ringing the doorbell was super friendly (still feel bad for waking him up).-The rooms were clean and modern, only minor complaint is beds are kind of hard but I mean when you're tired any beds a good bed.-When leaving ran into the cleaning lady with her kids and they were super friendly and awesome

Wow. What a great place. First of all, I made good time on the road and got to Four Winds at 2:00. My room was ready so they let me go ahead and check in. Great service and friendly staff.The room was fantastic. Fancy shower and bathroom sink. Huge TV and a brand new mattress. New fridge and microwave. Coffee maker was nice.Clean, Clean, Clean and rates incredibly reasonable for this type of room.Even the air conditioner had remote control. Fast WiFi.If you're in this area on NM, make your reservation at this hotel.

I had an unexpected stopover in Carrizozo, NM. I read previous reviews of the Four Winds and decided to stay here. The 5/5 reviews are spot on. The owner was very nice and helpful. The rooms are nicely updated and very clean, with all the expected amenities. It was quiet, and as a woman traveling alone I felt very safe. I recommend this little gem of a motel to anyone who is visiting Carrizozo. I hope to stay here again myself.

Clean and good for the price. Towels were a little hard and wish it had a soap tray in the shower. Was a beautiful new walk-in shower though. Good stay, very friendly girl at the desk. I’ll stay there again if we go back to Carrizozo.

Very accommodating with a clean room, the owner works very hard 24/7, and allowed our dog for an inexpensive rate of $15 per night. We went to a local coffee shop and met the owner's friend, Oscar, who also had wonderful things to say! 10/10 would stay here again and again.

We arrived at the Motel late at night and the room was exceptionally large, clean and updated (modern features). The bed was clean and very comfortable. The vanity area was spacious.Only downside is you can sometimes hear through the walls and doors, and the visitors come at all hours of the night from getting off the road.

The gentleman who check me in was very kind. And the room was a very clean non smoker room. Beds were nice and love the pillows! Rooms look as if they recently renovated it’s a diamond in the New Mexico desert! Very reasonably priced and we had our choice of shower with tub or walk-in which is nice if you have little ones who still need the tub and great for us older ones who don’t want to step in and out of the tub

I am overjoyed with my stay here! I ended up spending the night in Carrizozo because of a flat tire and honestly, I’m so happy that happened! This town is full of kind people and the staff at the Four Winds Motel are some of the best. They were attentive to me as a customer, and friendly and welcoming to me as an individual. The room also exceeded my expectations. I’ve never been able to find a room so spacious, clean, and modern for such a low price before—and all that plus a personable staff! Unbelievable! Wonderful! I would give 10 stars if I could.
