Self check out is the dumbest thing ever.Usually, I am all about Safeway and their produce section. It's usually stocked and beautiful. Today, not so much. Nothing was filled.On top of that, they had 4 personal shoppers and were too short staffed to have a cashier open.I do not work for Safeway.If people aren't coming in themselves, they should be on the back burner, and their pick-up time should be later in the day.Take care of in person customers.I almost left my cart well worth a hundred dollars for someone to put away. Unfortunately, I needed those things, so I had to volunteer to work at a multi-billion company this morning for free. Not by choice.Poor customer service.

My husband and I came to do our weekly grocery shopping. When we got to one of only two checkouts open we were met with an extremely rude cashier (Adonna). We were waiting our turn when she clearly became upset when she went to put the grocery divider in its slot and it would not go in, she grabbed them all and threw them under counter very aggressively. When I told her we had cokes under our cart she huffed and puffed, threw our drinks on the floor to scan them and continued to slam our groceries on the conveyer belt. We were in no way rude to her from the start, she did not greet us besides her huffing and puffing. I understand people have a bad day, but her actions were unacceptable in a service industry. I work in healthcare and I could not imagine treating patients like that. The world is short staffed and everyone is feeling it, however there is no excuse to treat people rudely.

Price gouging everything is more expensive .. I contacted Lipton tea about your price gouging so you guys get fined.. it's funny everything cost more because you have Aztec MAYBE YOU SHOULD TELL KEN GEORGE TO STOP BEING SO GREEDY.. and this Lipton teas are ONLY two dollars everywhere else in San Juan county and including Durango..

This Safeway has all you would expect from a grocery store. In addition to regular packaged and canned goods they have a full service meat department (the best in town), a deli with a lunch counter, liquor, produce and a fill service bakery. It is lacated convenient to m ost of the town and most hotels.

I only shop at safeway these days. Groceries are expensive everywhere But they're always friendly and helpful. I love the curbside Pick up and all the coupons at the offer on the app.

For the Bakery. You scrub up the cake. It was suppose to have different shades of green from light to dark and I asked for 24 cupcakes and you gave me 15 :( the writing was suppose to be black it was not :( making the entire cake look 👎.THANK you Safeway for responding back so quickly. I expect your apology for the Cupcake Cake mess-up, I'm not asking for a refund just wanted to point out to the Bakary that they should do Better. Have a great day🤔🤗😊 will change 🌟's on another visit to you Store.

We were traveling thru and not sure what to expect when we popped in for drinks and motion sickness meds, but it was clean, organized, and well staffed.I mistakenly bought the wrong meds and was able to exchange with no problems whatsoever!

I've been shopping here exclusively for 30 years and never had a problem until today. There's a new manager who is rude and hateful. They had one register open and 10 people in line. One of the cashiers asked the manager for help and instead of helping she looked at everyone in line and said why are none of you people using self check out? She didn't do a thing to help. We all had full baskets, and self checkout does not work so well with full baskets. Not only that but I'm not on their payroll so I shouldn't have to check myself out. I'm going to start using Farmers where prices are higher but the customer service is better. Screw you Safeway. You lost a loyal customer

Even though this is one of the smaller Safeways I visited it had a great variety of selections in the deli, produce and the meat department was awesome as well. The cashiers were very friendly and the customer service was accommodating... I'm handicapped and there was someone outside who brought a riding cart straight to my car. They also accompanied me outside and put my groceries into the trunk of my car and took the cart back in... It's not often that I have an EZ shopping experience so this was a delightful trip to the grocery store!!!

Manager thurs 7/20 morning Diane? Not helpful at all. First no check out for over 15 items so had to self. See was called for liquor item and walked away twice before i was finished with her. Be more friendly and helpfull.

I shop here pretty regularly and the pharmacy is the only one I'll use in the area. Prices usually are pretty decent compared to traveling into farmington and I've had more help from various employees here than at any of the other stores in the entire area

Vickie in the bakery department in the Aztec New Mexico store is wonderful! She is an ambassador for this store. She even took my call on her day off when I accidentally rang her cell phone number. She made two half sheet photo cakes for me customized with the logo of a local Equine Rescue Center. Then she so kindly added words and text around the edges and finished off the cakes with a beautiful yellow border.Her work is excellent, the product was outstanding. I cannot say enough good Praises for Vickie in the bakery department at the Aztec New Mexico Safeway store.

Love this place, only complaint is steaks are always super thin. The butchers there are awesome, just maybe let them decide how to cut the meat. I always look at what is there and end up getting my beef from farmers market as they have thicker cuts, not all of us want 1/4 inch cut beef steaks.

I’ve tried multiple times to stay positive about this store, but todays experience was the last attempt. The rude cashier insisted I pick up my 40 lb buckets of kitty litter because it’s against company policy to let me scan them myself. The bagger then started laughing when I insisted it wasn’t a big deal to just hand me the scanner and let me do it. The staff at this store is always rude and unfriendly, it consistently smells like backed up sewage by the meat department. Save yourself the nightmare and go to farmingtons Safeway, it’s bigger, cleaner, and has a better selection.

Safeway in Aztec is a great store. It's nice and big and has a hot deli and they usually have pretty good meat. I used to go here every morning to get breakfast when I worked in the patch before driving to the job site.

I shop at Safeway in Aztec as it is the only grocery store in town. I love the friendly staff so I'd give them 5 stars. Checkers are always polite and I have good experiences with the meat and produce departments when I can't find something. My biggest complaint isn't always enough on the shelves. This is generally more true on items that are on sale. Not sure if this is a supply issue or a stocking issue. Overall Aztec Safeway is a big chain store with a home town feel.

Uninformed employees, un-unified rules. Asked and confirmed with manager that I could use my out of state vertical ID after I turn 21 to be able to purchase products. Was told yes and was able to purchase nicotine no problem. Fast forward 3 days and go to purchase over $100 of alcohol and instantnly got shut down before the cashier even put in the effort to read the date on my license. All around poor experience and probably won't spend my money there ever again. Sad for a new person local to the area

There was only one lane open and then self check out and I was gonna go thru self check out because I'm a pretty fast checker (I think) and a lady opened up a check's stand just for myself and other people too, but I thought that was very sweet of them

It was okay this time. I needed Bay Leaves or else I wouldn't have even stopped because Aztec is hit or miss depending on skin color. It was an all inclusive day at this Safeway in "Mom and Pop" Aztec code for racist. Aside from what Safeway can't control outside their stores. This location does have the most actual cashiers and the most OPEN check out lanes than the two locations in Farmington.

Well I'm biased because I work there. I get paid far less than any of the pharmacy techs in the region but I've stayed for years because of awesome store managers, fellow employees in all of the departments and how clean they keep it. And I never see someone not go across the store while they're busy when a customer asks for help finding something. I'll be sad to leave when I get my degree next year. Great, friendly people are something you cant pay for. And holy smokes we have some of the friendliest customers around.

The restrooms were clean, the store was very clean and organized. There was a fair amount of people in the store but everyone was wearing masks. The shelves had a few bare spots but not bad. They did not have all the registers open so there was a short line at self check out and about 4 people in every line that was open with a checker. It was between 4:30 & 5 pm.

Great produce, good selection of products, could have shorter lines.It's an overall cool store, the staff is mostly pretty friendly. They smile when they talk to each other so it looks like a healthy work environment.

I just started working in Aztec and have to go here sometimes. Everyone is nice but slow so slow. If you are hoping to get in and out this is not the place. I was at the self check out and there was a line. One lady needed the cashier so she came over but instead of just helping and moving on she started up a conversation about farming!!! It was frustrating for me and the others waiting in line. Small town friendliness is great but so is efficiency and they lack that here.

I'm just thankful I was exhausted. didn't really have time to track her down, so here you go. if you don't look like the old hag that works here, expect to see multiple years of hate when you see her empty soulllllllll

Wow, I don't know how this store is getting so many good reviews. The first time I went in here I was appalled at the poor quality of the produce. A majority of the things I looked at were really old, wilty and wrinkled. I have been back quite a few times since and have not found it to be any improved with new shipments. I do eat mostly organic so that probably has some bearing on it. It seems that this town, and the surrounding entire area, do not strongly support healthy lifestyle. The staff are helpful and friendly enough. However, it seems that a lot of them wear way too much fragrance or chemicals on their bodies and, when they handle my food and bags, they become contaminated. Really wish more stores would do training on the dangers of toxic fragrance and other body products for people who, like cashiers, deal with the public.Overall, I will continue to do intermittent shopping at this store but I cannot depend on it to have the organic produce I need. Also, unless you can avail yourself of sales, most of which are for unhealthy Foods, the prices here are outrageous.
