Ann, a manager, was drinking a soda and talking to another employee as the self check line kept lengthening. I asked her if she could assist self check and she said no, I'm working, and waited for a customer who wasn't waiting in self check. Her attitude was disappointing/ disgusting. Hope corporate can do better than her.

I'm at this store all the time and I've always been happy with the selection and service. The bakery is great; the produce is consistently fresh; and checkout is always quick. Even though an isolated negative incident with a security guard who was apparently having a tough night had me temporarily soured, this has been my regular stop for years.

Went in to get a prescription, grabbed a few cosmetics, realized I should have grabbed a cart so I put everything that was in my hand in a small resuable shopping bag, planned on paying for it at the pharmacy. When I went to pick up my prescription I forgot about the bag because it was on the same arm as my purse. Walked outside and I hear "ma'am, ma'am, ma'am" I didn't turn around because I didn't think it was intended for me.This guy walks up behind me doesn't identify himself, isn't wearing any type of uniform that I can see and GRABS MY BAG, car keys and all. I was hit so fast and so hard by his actions at that point I think I'm being robbed because he then says if I dont let go he's going to pull a knife and cut the handles, I see him reach for his belt and pull a knife out, I let go because I'm not dying for this situation. I see him heading back into the store and I realize in that moment what I had done. I chase after him into the store screaming for him to give me back my car keys, all the way to one of the checkouts I'm screaming. He makes a show of dumping all the merchandise onto the checkout, grabs my keys and throws them at me and says "don't ever come in my store again" I'm like, what just happened!!!????. I get to my car and I realize my wrist is injured from holding onto the bag so tightly for him not to run off with my car keys, I 100 percent thought he was robbing me.Then this psycho has the nerve to start filming me, after HE pulls a knife on me, injures my wrist and takes off with my car keys.Smith's, I'm going to tell you this right now, your asset protection person that was working yesterday March 7th 2024 pulled a knife on me for some cosmetics. He knows he can get away with it because at that point I had unknowingly become a thief.I would have gotten to my car, realized what happened and immediately returned to the store to pay, I did this the last time I accidentally didn't pay for something and I'll do it the next time too.While he was filming me as I left, I was so angry that I used my middle finger and some less than savory language to display my anger.Whether you believe me or not that the theft was an accident, I don't care, you have it all on camera. I had just come from the urgent care, I had 103 degree fever, I was confused! I've never been arrested in my ENTIRE LIFE, I dont even have so much as a parking ticket, perfectly clean record, respectable person. I called a few lawyers yesterday, I can't afford the retainer right now, but trust me, I will find one who will take this on for free. I'm willing to take the "theft charges" as well, when the time comes.I was advised my at least two lawyers to file a police report for assault with a deadly weapon, I would be more than willing to admit my transgressions in the process. Do I want to ruin his life? No. But believe me if you keep him employed someone will end up getting hurt, most likely him. He'll end up doing this to the wrong person and when it happens I hope you think back on this review and realize it could have been prevented but not hiring an aggressiveu unhinged thug who pulls knives on women.

Really great location. The Store Manager is very nice and I always see him out on the floor doing some hard work along with everyone else.The store is decently stocked and very clean.The parking lot is very busy and you have to really watch out (especially if you have kids). The grid of the lot isn't great so there are lots of blind spots so just be cautious.They have a Post Office in there which makes things very convenient as well.

Don't expect any returns to be quick. Had to return items over a few months time and they seem to only have one person capable of doing returns so if they are out, you have to wait.

Always a great shopping experience. The store has a great selection but isn't overwhelming in size. Also has a post office, Wells Fargo bank (it's open till 7pm during the week and 5pm on Saturday), and a pharmacy. I highly recommend this grocery store. Also, you receive discounts at the gas station in the plaza if you sign up for Smith's rewards program!

I lived in Albuquerque years ago, and recently returned. The store was clean but the service members were very unhelpful. I had a recent injury and not one of them offered to help, even while giving me directions to walk across the entire store to find an item. The person checking out at the nearest counter was rude, did not ask me if I had found what I needed, and spent his time talking to another checker. No one offered to properly bag my groceries, and no took the time to help bring my groceries to the car. I will not be shopping at Smiths in Albuquerque again. Fortunately, I have other options.

I’ve been coming here for 20+ years only because it’s super close. Customer service is horrible. They don’t bother to remember you and I always feel like I’m burdening someone because they give me attitude all the time. Went to the deli tonight to get some fresh Turkey. The young lady couldn’t be bothered. Kept making excuses on why she couldn’t do her job and limiting me to what I could order. You would’ve thought I walked up and insulted her before politely asking for some Turkey. Afterwards, I said thank you and I really appreciate it and gave her a smile. She mumbled some trash talking under her breath as I walked away. Got to the self checkout. Good ole Mary is still oblivious. I’m the only one there and of course I’m the last one she helps. Checks my ID for the 1000th time. Gives me looks like I just committed a crime and then I’m done with my shopping. Always a pleasure Smith’s.

The employees are nice (except for the older woman who hangs over your shoulder at self checkout). It's good for buying basic ingredients, but there is significantly less variety here than the other Smith's. The vegetable produce expires very quickly, and just the other day, there was soggy Napa cabbage and Bok Choy still for sale. I do not want to be limited to lettuce and zucchini. They do not restock their vegetables very often. It's very difficult to eat healthy with this store's selection because the produce is limited but there will always be plenty of Mac and cheese, soup cans, and pasta available on the other side of the store. I understand that Smith's corporate may not be funding them as well as the Smith's on Paseo, but it's just a depressing store.Update: wow! A mice infestation. Nice. This is my closest Smith's but I won't be coming here again.

Smith's has been cutting corners for years. Can't even be bothered to purchase hand baskets these days. No wonder the store was closed for egregious rodent infestation and lack of sanitation. Root cause is still there. Greed

Always a good shopping experience. Their meat selection is always better than most stores I visit and the store is always clean. The staff is helpful and has never disappointed. The Kroger rewards program is also pretty nice for discounts and gas rewards. I recommend it to anyone wanting to save some money.

and people wonder why we shop here instead of Walmart I've seen people sweep the floors at Walmart but I've never seen detail scrubbing like I do here at Smith's not to mention the deli was incredibly helpful I described my problems I was having they made a suggestion and Not only was it helpful but it will definitely be my new choiceHey people, if you agree with anything I have said hit like.

Been searing EVERYWHERE for my daughters formula. Had someone say to check at this location. I spoke with a couple different staff members and it was such a POSITIVE experience. They went out of their way to look everywhere for me and wound up finding some in the back, they even allowed me to buy more then was usually allotted. I believe it was a manager and a bagger who helped me, and their positive attitudes were so nice! Thank you for helping!

the employees are very patient and nice, consistently. but they get four stars because their bakery sandwiches recently gave me severe food poisoning and i had to be rehydrated through an IV. it got me out of work though. can’t stay mad at them.

Have shopped here a few times over the past 4 years, was going to go back today because it is near one of my medical providers. Then I watched on KOAT this morning that it was shut down by the Health dept. for a mouse infestation. Wow.

Overall, a nice basic grocery store. I've been shopping here for over 25 years. Good selection of shelf products. The bakery rocks - very service oriented! Good response on check out with several self service lines. The reason for the 2 star rating? The meat counter. For the last several years, service at the meat counter is hit or miss. Sometimes the service is awesome, often the service is non existent. Take today for instance. Went in for a typical weekly shopping experience. I wanted some beef short ribs and this product was not available on the floor. Natural response- go get help at the meat counter. I waited 5 minutes without results. Even saw some one peer out of the side window at me and quickly withdraw. Complaints to management go no where.

Went grocery shopping at 7:30pm. I had a full cart. Not one check out station was open. Only self check was open and a large line was forming. Employees were standing at the front of the store talking while people with large carts struggled to self check leaving a long wait. I just left my full cart and walked out. This smiths is getting worse at customer service and item availability.

I was just there (3/16/23) around 2:00pm and the girl behind the meat and seafood counter was dropping f-bombs and cussing up a storm with her coworkers for the whole world to hear. Very professional staff!

They have good customer service. Once, they did not have enough of a sale item in stock, so they let me substitute a different item. My only complaints are that it gets busy, so there can be a wait in self checkout if you need the attendant to help you with coupons and stuff. Also, this is a smaller Smith's so it just doesn't always have all the things I expect to find.

The employees are very helpful and friendly! The man who works in the bakery has been my children's favorite reason to go there! He sometimes makes them a "special" free cookie, by topping it with frosting or adding a plastic cupcake ring! He's the best!

Wow haven't been here in almost 20 yrs, but I will say this store barely carried any of the items I needed. Poor selection. It used to be my go to back in the day. The isles are small and the produce was not of good quality. I've never seen apples with mold, but somehow I saw that here. Won't be returning.

My Mother-in-law placed an online order to be picked up between 10 and 11 am on Sunday. She arrived at 10:20 and was told her order was not ready and asked to come back later. She asked if closer to 11 would be sufficient time and was told "yes." She returned at just before 11 and called and was told that her order was still not complete and asked if she wanted to come back later or to cancel. She did not want to come back later or cancel as she needs food to live and had already agreed to come back a the current time. She asked that they bring out what they had and they did. They not have most of the food items she had ordered (only her coffee, tortillas, and canned pineapple) No dairy, No Meat, No bread, no juice, no produce.My mother-in-law lives very close to this store and is very disappointed in the service (or lack thereof) that she received. She was given $10 off her grocery bill but this hardly makes up for not getting the food she needs when she needs it. She, and my family as well, will not be shopping at this location again.

The staff are nice, the events are always the best at this location, and they have helpful produce people that really check for products for you. Have had great service at the meat counter as well- just a great group of people. Parking can get a little rough just after standard work hours on weekdays.

Second best Smith's store in the city. Conveniently located right in the middle of about 5 apartment complexes it can sometimes be busy, but if you go after 7pm it's never busy. Produce and meat are very good. Easy to find what you're looking for and the employees are always friendly.

I waited at the customer service counter for a few minutes and after two employees walked right by me and ignored me after I said "excuse me" I called the main line from my cell phone. The guy who answered wasn't very pleasant and he hung up on me before paging customer service to come to the booth. Let's find a better plan to have that booth manned.

I used to love this store. So sad to see surly rude employees and poor quality produce taking over. Until they shape up, I'm taking my business to the Academy Albertson's. THAT store has helpful friendly employees and the produce is excellent.

I used to live near this Smith's and it is by far the best in town. The staff has always been kind and very helpful. The produce is always excellent. My gas is always 10 cents off due to my shopping at Smith's. Great deals!!
