After reading many of the comments and stopping at the store myself twice I can see what people are complaining about the poor customer service, but I feel we are also living in a world that any constructive criticism or feedback given to anyone has to be with a huge smile and bubbly personality. This is an Awesome fish shop where all the fish are well kept and in a clean environment. Their coral selection is amazing and yes some are very expensive, but it's part of the hobby specially with the rare coral and fish species in this store. Every one of the guys seems to be very knowledgeable and tell you exactly what you need. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone. Also they sell saltwater and freshwater super cheap .

Really beautiful selection of fishes. Passed by yesterday & all the colors of lighting & fishes in the tanks.I fell in love e when I saw a seahorse hiding ❤️friendly & helpful staff & it’s a nice drive as well if anyone like to go a lil further out

The staff are so helpful and knowledgable which is needed for a fish community. Their fish are amazing with all well kept and some very hard to find,the coral selection is beautiful and all their prices are very reasonable!!! I would recommend for a hobbyist to check this place out because you won't be disappointed!

I've known Warren since the time he worked at the local aquarium on Rte 10. He is a special person with much knowledge of sea life and with a fascination of local birds. He shares his knowledge with you and will guide you in order for you to obtain the best results with your aquarium. I've provided a pic of my aquarium to show you my clownfish and aquarium that is 9 years old with corals provided by Sea Level Aquarium. Keep up the excellent work Warren!

They took a good amount of time explaining how to repair and plumb my 180g aquarium after i purchased it from fb. They had all the parts I needed and educated me on my new sump system. They specialize in saltwater fish but every once in a while they have some nice freshwater gems. Definitely check them out if your a reefer or have a large tank as they have an impressive selection.

Best fish store in the entire world!! It's a small boutique but for the size of the place they pack in so many tanks. Best fish knowledge around and they genuinely care. They will not sell you a sick fish. You never see a dead fish and the tanks are immaculate. They always make sure you know how to take care of the fish and it goes to the right home. 100000 out of 5 stars!

Terrible customer service ruins this store despite the fact that the inventory appears to be of high quality. When I had an issue with 1 fish that I purchased recently and went back to the store, they claimed to have told me not to purchase the fish and that I did not listen to them. That does not match with any of the conversations I had with the store. Despite this, even if I am wrong and they are right, whey did they sell fish that they feel so strongly about not selling? They either accused me of lying or that they are unethical and will sell anything to anyone. 2 stars because when I walked out they offered to give me my money back to which I declined (it wasn't about the money).

What a great job the ownership has done growing this from a little fish store to a reef keepers dream. Never see a dead animal. The tanks are always clean. The selection of fish and corals is incredible!Worth the ride from anywhere. Check ‘em out.

Extremely knowledgeable and experienced staff. Very helpful and honest. Always the cleanest local fish store around. I drive 40min and past 3 other fish stores just to come to Sea Level. Wouldn't get corals anywhere else. Also, best prices on boxes of reef crystals salt. They even beat amazons price.

Awesome shop for reef keepers. The cleanest tanks and livestock I've seen, and pretty good prices too. Great selection of coral, especially euphyllia (species / colors of torch, hammers, and frogspawn I haven't seen elsewhere). The owner is great - very knowledgeable and helped me solve a few difficult problems with my system. They also have a selection of freshwater community fish.

I’ve been to countless stores with my father and I have never seen a store with healthier fish and cleaner tanks. All of their tanks are always sparkling clean and all the fish are super healthy. I’ve bought fish from other stores before and most never seem to last long. But every fish I get from Sea Level always does well in our tank. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and super helpful. Me and my father have gone into the store several times just to ask questions and Warren is always more than willing to help. He has solved countless problems we’ve had with our fish tank and because of his help our tank is currently thriving. I highly recommend this store. You won’t get any healthier fish and corals from anywhere other than Sea Level.

Wonderful selection of coral, salt and fresh water fish at great prices. The staff is friendly and informative. The store is very clean and full of vibrant healthy specimen. If you are looking for something special just ask and they will do their best to get it for you. Warren the owner, hand picks most all the fish and coral. If you are a beginner or an experienced hobbiest they have all the supplies you need here. I highly recommend checking this place out!

This is one of the best places I ever bin at. The owner is very helpful. The other workers are very helpful to vary good with kids to. I go every sat and I sit there and ask ? the whole time I'm there and never seen any of them say anything about a customer. They walk u throw step by step on building a tank no matter what kind of tank reef ,saltwater tanks of just fish ore freshwater if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have my 40gallon anemone tank or my 90 gallons reef tank. They help me learn how to build sump tanks for wet and dry. Love how clean the place is even wen they spill a little bit water they are fast to clean and make sore no one falls. If a fish don't look happy and is not eating they take it and move it to a tank that there is no other fish is in and tell people that its not for sell for the fact that it is not eating or that its sick. Coral are always happy and open with good color and anemones are always open and happy. Coral are always cheap in price they frag there own coral. So the person that put the bad review is proudly a person the owns there own fish place and wants to knock on some one else success. I just know that no matter what I'm still going there to buy because if he knows that its not something I should put in my tank he will tell me so thank u warren , Joe, Rob & Steve and every one else that has helped me wen o go in to the store thank u guys for all the knowledge u guys have given me all these years

Bought my first reef aquarium for my home from Sea Level Aquarium and was incredibly pleased with the level of service throughout the whole process. Having never installed a tank of this size before, Joe & Warren made it a point to make sure I was completely satisfied with the setup and even gave me a few printouts of some good tips to care for it.Well worth the drive to Pine Brook for exceptional service!*****EDIT: It is painfully obvious that some of the negative reviews listed on here were created by this store's local competitors. I have numerous friends and family members who are very much into this hobby and have raved about the rare and unique fish that Warren (one of the store owners) has been able to get for them. These more rare fish may not always be on display when you're perusing the store, but that's because they sell extremely fast.And I can absolutely guarantee you that the staff is not interested in ripping off anybody. They donated a $3,000 tank setup and a ton of livestock to a local park near my home in Ocean County and have routinely come down to service it at no cost. Joe (the other store owner) also spent time in a local Elementary school (where my cousin works), giving the kids free Betta fish and teaching them basic care. These do not seem like actions by greedy store owners by any means.

Amazing place. The owner Warren is the best. He will not sell you anything you are not ready for. Some stores sell you anything, he will prep you to get to the next level. Great atmosphere no hassle no pressure no stress. Love this place.

I will never go to this place again. Upon arrival no one greets you or pays attention to you. After walking around the store for 10 minutes I am finally asked if I need help to let them know. The owner seems to be to busy on the computer and doesn’t seem to care. All corals and fish are extremely way overpriced. Sorry but I can’t see myself paying $80 for a yellow tang or $90 for a single Bartlett anthias. No wonder stores like this end up going out of business. I will choose to shop elsewhere where the prices are reasonable. This place is not for me.

I am relatively new to the hobby and when I started people told me to go to the "other" fish store. I must say there is NO COMPARISON between the two,Sea Level is so much better. These guys were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The store is great and the fish selection is phenomenal. I'm just starting out with my salt water tank, and I know I'll be coming back to them for everything I need.

Mediocre on its best day. Having been in this hobby for over 30 years, I'm always on the look out quality fish, coral, and reef keeping products. After reading the other reviews I was initially excited to see what all the fuss is about. Beware those 5 star reviews were written by beginners! All I can say is don't waste your gas unless you are extremely knowledgable and know exactly what you need. Having traveled there 5 times in 2 months, each visit was more disappointing then the last. On my first trip I was pretty much ignored by the owner and a staff member. As I walked around looking at the selection I could overhear them talking badly about their customers, laughing about their lack of knowledge, and planning how they were going profit big that lack of knowledge. On my following visits I have encountered undertrained or unhappy staff basically babysitting the livestock. Nothing really spectacular about the selection or the prices. I would strongly recommend beginners go elsewere or get educated before shopping here

I have been dealing with one of the owner's, Warren for about 15 years going back to the Hanover Pet days. I was extremely excited when I found out that he opened a store with Joe local to me. After Sandy, It took me about a year and a half to re-set up the tanks that I lost, but when I was ready Warren and I sat down and planned out what I envisioned my new tanks to be. He helped me plan and add the right pieces at the right time. Now, over a year later my 120g & 150g reefs looks spectacular. I know that Warren and Joe hand pick all their livestock and take great pride in the fact that they only have the best fresh and salt water fish/corals in their store. The store is extremely clean, has all the essentials for the hobby and the staff has always been more than helpful. A must visit store for anyone with a fish tank.

I have been there maybe a handful of times as I am not close. Staff was always pleasant prices on saltwater fish is a bit high but so are most independent stores. Fresh water fish (although limited) are priced reasonably. My only issue is I was in the area on a Tuesday and they were closec.

Warren is the most educated person about the ocean when it comes to Coral and and saltwater fish he was always been there for me and educated me ever since I stepped into this world. He encourage me to go out there and start my own business I'm proud to say that he has amazing store and always been there for Johns corals and Aquariums.. I wouldn't go nowhere else with my customers to buy coral or healthy fish.. Thanks Sea level
