Please..I left my girl here in 2017 when I was Homeless, (She was 3) I called everyday for a YEAR, to see about her and they said she was sent to "a rescue for pitbulls." She should be an old lady now, NOT AGGRESSIVE, just jumpy. but please answer your phone so I can get a darn lead. They assured me she wouldn't be put down cause your "No-Kill" #JUSTICEFORSWEETPEA

This little girl was found in Paterson Sat afternoon near Caldwell Av. I bought her to my house to give her shelter overnight and Sun afternoon I bought her to Paterson Animal Control in hopes that her owner would find her. The lady at Animal Control that took her was very pleasant and helpful & answered all my questions. I have been calling in to check on the little girl to see how she is & if owner came to get her. I found out that she was sent up to the vet because of some health issues. I spoke with Angel at Paterson Animal Control this evening he was very helpful and could tell he genuinely cared.I was told not all dogs that go there are killed, only if it is Truly necessary otherwise sent to Second Chance to get healthy and ready for adoption.

What's the point of having a number if you won't pick up on open hours I found a cat in the cold with a injury and I wanted to help it so I called this place and they never picked up I called about 5 times in the end the cat ended up leave it had no collar it was just freezing outside with a injury

Very hard to get anyone on the phone in time of need when they're advertised as open. Poor service.

No caring in the world for this place!The only time John comes running is when the news cameras are rolling ( All an act!!)Word of advice if you are a person like me and you see a strayed dogs or catsDon’t take it upon yourself to care for them and expect Paterson animal control take to step in to help. Because they won’t and will give you a million of excuses to leave it back on your hands. Shame on you!!!!

This is high kill shelter. They don’t care about adopting out animals. They dump cats to fend themselves in the street. They kill animals. And if your pet makes it there you never see it back. They’ll never admit they have it. John is a disgrace to humanity and people who are still hiring him are just as corrupt. They should find someone who actually cares about animals.

When I lost my dog in September 2018, I called several times for a few weeks. Every time I did, the person, forgot his name... sorry, was extremely helpful and caring. Unfortunately, I never got my little man back, but just knowing that these guys were there and keeping an eye out for him made me feel a little more at ease. Thank you for all that you did to help. It is very much appreciated.

where do I even start this place is a disgrace to the community let me just start by saying how I've never wrote a review anywhere I'm really chill but this place and the people here HEARTLESS ! I had an injured outside cat show up to place I called them and lets not even talk about how they never answer . Someone picked up and told me they would send someone over to help I waited the whole day and they never show , I called 911 and they couldn't even reach them either . I had no way to take the poor cat and it would hiss at me if I tried to cure him/her , sad news the cat ended up dying I tried my best to keep it alive but this people failed ! couldn't even keep their word I could only imagine how many times they've done this too ! DISGUSTING .

Don’t even waste your time . From the dispatchers poor professionalism to the office not answering calls and/or declining calls , is ridiculous. They would either show up insanely late or not at all.

I have called once before never received a call back. Here I am calling once again. Neighbor dog barks all types of hours of the day. The person should be held accountable for disturbing my sleep along with my daughter. Still waiting to hear back

I have a mixed review because of the following:A few months ago I almost ran a loose pitbull over in the street. Long story short, I parked, chased him, and caught him. Called animal control and someone answered on the first call and met me in 10 minutes.Also had trouble getting in touch with them on another case of a loose dog.I know that he's not responsible for the people of Paterson, many of which shouldn't have the right to own pets. Overall they are doing a good thing and seems like they care.

They do the best they can and some animals go to resuces right after someone surrenders or they vaccinate the cats and let them live their life around the shelter

I just called them for the first time he did tell me they didn’t have any space for a cat but he was very helpful his name is Mike He gave me a number to help me with my issue with my cat I have no issue with them

Horrible!!!! I been calling 12 times and no one is picking up. I called the emergency number and it still no one is picking up. A cat was hurt and a city worker just moved it to my side walk and left it there. Its still alive but hes injured. I am not sure what to do...

Call office stated my dog was missing for 3 day went to identify my dog and he was there staff was extremely helpful and very professional didn't even though to look there first Thanks Paterson Animal Control you are the best I'm so happy to be reunited with my dog thanks to you are the best!!!!!!

They are very kind and help and care for the animals in their shelter. They provide clean water food and warmth on a daily basis. They are amazing.
